12:03 sri spent all on renewing the mojolicious domains
12:04 jberger Ah
12:04 sri but it's pretty cool what you can do with bitcoin these days
12:10 sri guess the only game on steam i actually want is the new master of orion
12:10 sri really curious if it's any good
12:11 * sri is s sucker for civ-like strategy games
12:12 sri civ 5 recently got me hooked again :)

13:00 mdom sri: Do you have a recommendation for one of the books from the bundle?
13:00 pink_mist too many python books for my taste :P
13:01 sri hacking, the art of exploitation is a classic
13:02 sri the linux command line is one of the best linux beginner books
13:03 sri some of the others are also classics, but i don't know all of them
13:14 mdom Ah, yes, i started to read "hacking" yesterday ... so, good decision... :)

14:47 CW Is it just me, or does this sound wrong... Ok, So when I call $self->render( 'homescreen/homescreen'); it changes the location where it is looking for my css files.
14:48 jberger CW: the path to the template has no bearing on the path to the rendered file that the browser sees
14:49 jberger I might have $r->get('/some/path')->to(template => 'my/other/path')
14:49 jberger and the browser will look for relative css relative to /some/path
14:49 CW except for some reason its affecting where it is looking for my css... :-S

14:49 CW Thu Apr 28 09:41:44 2016] [debug] GET "/homescreen/css/index.css"
14:50 jberger what is the request for the html page look like?
14:50 preaction why is your <link> tag relative?
14:51 CW <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/index.css" />
14:51 preaction yes, why?
14:51 preaction you want /css/index.css
14:53 CW yah.
14:54 genio "it's all relative!"
14:54 preaction except my cat. she's absolute. and my garbage bin. it's full
14:56 CW Works great when I all $self->render; but if I tell it not to change pages cause its calling a method with in the homescreen, that is to push data to the homescreen, I have to use $self->render('homescreen/homescreen'); which then changes the css path to homscreen/css... Seems wrong to me.
14:57 CW wow, english fail... sorry.
14:57 preaction CW: your <link> tag is relative. you should make it absolute. you want: <link href="/css/index.css" />
14:58 preaction otherwise, yes, the path to your css file is based on the path in the user's address bar. which i assume is http://example.com/homescreen/
14:58 jberger CW: to clarify what preaction is saying, this has nothing to do with mojolicious
14:58 jberger it is what your browser does to resolve that link tag
15:01 CW interesting, Didn't think that would make a difference since its going to the same address/page.
15:01 CW Thanks
15:02 jberger np
15:02 preaction it's about what appears in the address bar
15:02 jberger though once again, I highly suggest you cozy up with an HTML book for a bit
15:02 jberger it will really help
15:03 jberger the web can be really frustrating when you try to jump in with both feet
15:03 jberger also, learn to use firebug (firefox) or dev tools (chrome)
15:04 jberger so you can see what the browser is actually doing
15:05 CW Will do... trying to learn to much all at once, I am forgetting basics that I used to know. kinda frustrating. oh, well...
15:08 jberger you aren't the first :P
15:09 jberger the web seems so tantalizingly easy at first
15:09 jberger and probably it should be
15:09 jberger but $real_world
15:09 preaction it once was. it could've been again. problem is committees (w3c) don't make things simple, ever

19:19 jberger sri: I wonder about bulk creation of jobs in Minion::Backend::Pg
19:19 jberger like if I could get a transaction and wrap all the insertion with it
19:20 jberger I know that's Backend specific though :s
19:20 jberger I probably could make a tiny subclass ...
19:25 sri are there enough use cases?
19:25 sri i suppose it could be part of the core api
19:25 jberger I have no idea if there are enough generall
19:25 jberger y
19:25 jberger for Banana I want to add several jobs at once AND add several other tracking rows
19:26 jberger Banana targets Pg specifically though
19:26 sri just remember that the schema makes no guarantees
19:26 sri only the actual api is public
19:27 jberger right, Banana doesn't use the Minion tables at all
19:27 sri the schema will change for optimizations
19:27 jberger which is why its hard for me to share a transaction
19:27 jberger if I dipped into the minion schema it would be easier
19:27 jberger but that's a no-no
19:30 jberger hmmm, I wonder if enqueue could take a db option?
19:30 jberger $minion->enqueue($task, $arg_ref, {db => $db})
19:30 jberger it would be the first backend-specific arg though
19:36 genio I like how most of the comments are about slater's face  http://io9.gizmodo.com/the-new-movie-from-the-creator-of-mr-robot-sounds-terr-1773655724
