07:40 che-quest hi! is it possible to change separate proxies for async reqs of one UA?
07:41 sri yes, if you modify the transactions yourself

09:41 batman wow! that's just weird...
09:42 sparky Is there an easy way to add authentication to mojo websocket connections?
09:43 sri websocket handshakes are just http, you can use cookies
09:44 sparky Any plugin or similar to reuse the existing user auth cookie?
09:47 batman sparky: don't think so complicated. it's just websocket "/whatever" => sub { my $c = shift; return $c->render(...) unless $c->session("uid"); .... };
09:48 sparky Oh, yeah cool. I'm coming from using socket.io for my websocket so had to handle the bridge from client to server side myself. I forgets that mojo has control over users and teh websocket.

11:46 mpapec :)
11:48 sri there is no forward like in catalyst
11:49 sri it's incompatible with all the async features
11:49 sri we recommend you abstract out shared functionality into helpers

16:18 * pink_mist refrains from mentioning nagios (oh wait)
16:19 pink_mist the thing is though, that if you want to keep a trademark you've invested a lot of money into building, you are required by law to act like those companies are doing, or you won't be able to keep the trademark
16:19 zivester joined #mojo
16:21 pink_mist so I don't really blame the companies there
16:26 dod joined #mojo
16:27 jberger sri: is it at all possible that on the smash-close of a websocket connection that the finish event doesn't get fired?
16:28 pink_mist what does "smash-close" mean?
16:31 jberger in this case, ha-proxy stopped cold
16:34 pink_mist does netstat still show the connection? if so it'll likely time out eventually
16:34 jberger the connection ends up not being in the ioloop anymore
16:35 jberger because the error I get comes from here:
16:35 jberger https://github.com/kraih/mojo/blob/master/lib/Mojo/Server/Daemon.pm#L232
16:35 jberger looking up the stream by id in the loop is returning nothing
16:35 jberger so the loop has already cleared the connection
16:36 jberger I'm wondering if that can happen without the transaction's finish handler being called

19:34 * mishanti1 goes massively off topic
19:34 mishanti1 So I heard that the food-scene in Chicago has become crazy good the last couple of years. Anyone here who can confirm?
19:36 jberger food in chicago has always been good
19:36 jberger since the history of being the meat hub of the midwest 100 years ago or more
19:36 genio I will be there for a couple of days at the end of the month.
19:36 genio hope it will be fun
19:37 jberger genio: any chance you will be here for Chicago.pm?
19:37 jberger 4th thursday of the month
19:37 jberger if not, we can still schedule an impromptu
19:38 genio I'll be there the 28th-30th.
19:38 genio maybe the 1st and 2nd as well
19:38 genio My wife has some conference thingy and I'm tagging along for fun
19:38 pink_mist huh, and someone in another channel *just* posted this link http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/05/18/us/chicago-murder-problem.html
19:39 genio I plan on not angering anyone to the point of them wanting to shoot me
19:39 jberger nor being in the areas where that is a concern
19:40 mishanti1 Me neither.
19:40 pink_mist aye, I didn't mean to suggest you'll get murdered as soon as you step foot there :P it was just a curious coincidence that that link was posted just as you guys started mentioning chicago =)
19:40 genio As I've never been there, I don't know where to stay away from.
19:41 genio jberger: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/chibr-renaissance-chicago-ohare-suites-hotel/ Apparently we're staying there.  Closer to O'Hare than Chicago proper by the looks of the map
19:42 pink_mist genio: the article actually seems to show which neighbourhoods are the "worst", so just stay away from those :P
19:42 jberger genio: you would know ...
19:42 genio yea, I'm pretty sure I'd know.
19:43 jberger and yeah, that's basically at the airport, Rosemont has a lot of new "fun" stuff, very commercial
19:43 jberger big entertainment district
19:43 jberger but you are close to the blue line, you can take that in to the city pretty easily
19:43 jberger about 30mins on the train probably
19:44 genio That's not too bad
19:45 y1mmm joined #mojo
19:46 jberger genio: also I live out past ohare the other way
19:46 jberger northwest of the city and ohare
19:46 jberger so if you get stuck for an evening I can maybe meet you for a beer on this side
19:47 jberger pink_mist: I finally got down in that article enough to see that map
19:47 genio Sounds like a plan. Beer is always welcome!
19:47 jberger yeah, it looks about right
19:47 jberger south side and west side are the issues
19:48 jberger even where it shows a mid-range level those are mostly pockets
20:05 vicash genio: stay in the Loop area and you should be fine.. it is the best part of Chicago if you're a tourist
20:26 sri irccloud was down again from a big netsplit :S
20:27 Grinnz it never actually went down for me, just slow

20:47 mishanti1 There are Mac-users here right? Does Perl come preinstalled or do you have to `brew install` it?
20:48 preaction perl comes with osx, but using system perl is usually suboptimal
20:48 Janos joined #mojo
20:48 Janos_ joined #mojo
20:48 vicash mishanti1: use perlbrew on the mac to be safe... even homebrew perl or macports perls are whacky...
20:48 mishanti1 preaction: Yeah, Just wanted to check as I do not use Mac myself and needed to make a quick note for a blog-post I'm writing.
20:49 mishanti1 preaction , vicash : Thanks for responding. :)
20:56 haarg system perl on mac is usually reasonably up to date, and they haven't broken anything with it for quite a while
20:57 Grinnz if it stays up to date, that's one of the reasons you shouldn't use it :P
20:57 Grinnz well, presuming it uses a package manager of some sort
20:57 Grinnz but that would mean at some point it would upgrade major versions
