19:14 meredith i've noticed there's apparently a secure input mode that keeps my keyboard nav tools from working when i'm sitting on like, a sudo or gpg askpass, but not in that password box in the lastpass app, or the password prompt for viscosity/openvpn.
19:14 meredith i'm not quite sure why there are secure and less secure forms of password input on here
19:15 meredith but i'm wondering if the touchstrip suggestions work on the secure inputs too

19:30 kerdes what is runs every time, when I request a page ?
19:31 kerdes for example I'd like to store the layout in stash,
19:31 kerdes and dont want to read the layout from db in every single controller
19:35 vicash kerdes: use a hook.. before_render
19:35 sri http://mojolicious.org/perldoc/Mojolicious/Guides/Routing#Under
19:39 kerdes thank you, I am going to read this

22:08 mishanti1 Nope. Trailer looks interesting though.
22:08 mishanti1 Given how up to date I am on the movie-front I will most likely get to see it in 2018/2019.
22:10 parv mishanti1, which movie is of interest?
22:12 parv wait, "Arrival" is it?
22:19 mishanti1 up.
22:19 mishanti1 s/up/Yup/
22:21 parv have you seen Lucy? That, "Her", and about 30 others are on my to-see list.
22:21 mishanti1 Lucy I have seen. I quite enjoyed it, but I hear many people are offended by the "science" in it.
22:23 parv What, they could not suspend disbelief?
22:25 parv I mean some people who worked at ground observatory parised Gravity for its science ...
22:25 parv ... but then other scientists disagreed about that,
22:25 parv s/,/./

22:33 jberger Carolyn and I have been meaning to go see it
22:33 jberger but with Meta::Hack and Thanksgiving I have no idea when that's going to be
22:33 jberger NO SPOILERS!
22:33 purl There are snakes on the plane
22:33 jberger dammit purl!
22:34 genio haven't seen it yet either.  I went to see Dr. Strange, but meh.
22:35 parv genio, did you not see Dr Strange in 3D (as it was supposedly to be seen)?
22:36 * genio resists the urge to rant about his hatred of 3D movies
22:38 parv genio, don't let your hatred of 3D format take away the enojyment that you won't have in 2D. :-J
22:42 yak_ I am new to Mojolicious and async programming. I want a web application to open up a websocket connection, so that my server application can fetch urls in the background and send results to the client using the websocket as they arrive. I thought I would just use an asynchronous request from Mojo::UserAgent and send data through the websocket. but the client is being killed prematurely. I know I should probably read more on this, but can someone pleas
22:42 yak_ e direct me where to begin or what approach to use? My example with one reuqest here: http://pastebin.com/zzuRYrNd
22:45 yak_ (perhaps the client/callback need to be defined elswhere or I shoudl be using a completely different approach)
22:46 preaction yak_: you need to hold on to the Mojo::UserAgent object, i expect. it's being cleaned up because it falls out of scope
22:47 yak_ so you suggest the reason is it gets garbage collected so perhaps I should try saving it somewhere in a global variable or something?
22:47 preaction that's a possibility, yes
22:48 preaction in theory you could also put it in the $c->stash(), since i think that isn't cleaned up as long as you've got a websocket open
22:49 yak_ Thanks, let me make some experiments. But, in theory, this should be doable right? While the websocket is open, the process is running and there theoretically is a way of running some downloads in the background and sending results using the socket.
22:53 preaction i mean, i just gave you advice on how to make it work, so yes
22:53 yak_ ok, cool, thanks a lot :)
23:54 yak_ preaction: works like a charm.

23:58 preaction excellent!
23:58 purl EGG-see-lent!
