00:17 sri _dave_: i wish, first game i've preordered in many years... but my father is in the hospital atm., so i've got other stuff to take care of first :(
00:17 _dave_ arh, I hope he gets better soon
00:18 _dave_ I have heard some odd reports about the game, I don't want to color your response if you or someone else gets the game
00:20 Grinnz i played it a bit
00:20 Grinnz so far i'm not disappointed but it's also not spectacularly made, but seems worth the $50 so far -- and most of the issues are easily patchable if they choose to
00:28 _dave_ I thought it was $60?
00:29 Grinnz $50 on GMG :)
00:33 _dave_ GMG?
00:33 _dave_ I was going to buy through origin...lol
00:34 _dave_ wow green man gaming
00:34 _dave_ wonder if you can download it from them
00:48 Grinnz they give you an origin code

09:34 sri stephan48: thanks, looks like it's nothing serious and he'll be back home tomorrow, but SUSE has very flexible working hours which is really nice in cases like this

14:10 jberger marcus: meh, I'm getting back into Mason personally
14:11 marcus jberger: highly invested in template toolkit at the moment.
14:11 marcus Wish that was a joke too.

19:46 genio hope your dad's doing well.
19:47 sri it was serious, but he went early enough to the hospital so that everything is alright again and he'll be back home by monday

21:18 sri so far ME Andromeda is pretty good, the animation glitches are very visible though
21:20 Grinnz the biggest one ive noticed is peoples eyes moving erratically, which reminds me of old MEs where peoples eyes would be transfixed in the wrong spot
21:20 Grinnz eyes are hard, i guess :P
21:21 sri yea, i noticed that too, one time ryder went cross eyed
21:32 [0xAF] Hi, is Jan Henning Thorsen around, I don't know his nickname. Sorry for asking like that. I have trouble with the AssetPack plugin. I've made the simpliest possible testcase to show the problem and I need some opinion...
21:36 [0xAF] here is the test case: http://0xaf.org/my_app.tar.gz ... The problem is that the plugin does not put the <link...> lines for the css and js files. The problems seems to be in the _render_tags routine or deeper... but the plugin seems to not recognize the tags correctly.
21:37 [0xAF] or it could be just my ignorance of how to use the plugin...
21:37 Grinnz batman: ^
21:37 [0xAF] Grinnz: 10x
21:41 ashimema joined #mojo
21:51 [0xAF] batman: just a note, the test case shows the problem with assetpack.def file and the Notification plugin too... so I guess it's not my ignorance...
21:54 [0xAF] jberger: sorry for being insolent, but if it's not a problem for you to have a look at the issue, that would be perfect. Just to be sure where the problem is...
21:56 [0xAF] and in case you're wondering, i'm not from Canada... just saying sorry way too much ;)
21:59 maschine Trying to create a helper for a MongoDB connection - I don't think I understand how it works (well, I know I don't)
21:59 maschine This code works:
21:59 maschine my $client = MongoDB::MongoClient->new(         host => $uri,         ssl => 1,         ssl => { SSL_verify_mode => 0x00, }     );  my $coll = $client->get_namespace('database.collection');
21:59 maschine this doesn't work:
21:59 maschine helper client  => sub { state $client = MongoDB::MongoClient->new(         host => $uri,         ssl => 1,         ssl => { SSL_verify_mode => 0x00, }     )};  helper collection => sub { shift->client->db->collection('database.collection') };
22:00 maschine I get this error:
22:00 maschine Undef did not pass type constraint "Str" (in $args->{"name"}) at (eval 674) line 158     "Str" is a subtype of "Value"     "Value" is a subtype of "Defined"     Undef did not pass type constraint "Defined" (in $args->{"name"})     "Defined" is defined as: (defined($_))
22:00 maschine anyone have a clue?  I don't. :p
22:01 pink_mist my first clue would be to use a paste site so we can actually read that -- my brain isn't capable of reading that at this hour
22:01 maschine yeah sorry I realized that right after I posted it
22:03 [0xAF] maschine: and you pass the ssl=>... param twice, i guess it's not a problem, but why would you do that?
22:04 maschine working:  http://pasted.co/5ef71cbd
22:04 maschine not working: http://pasted.co/d2d238c0
22:04 maschine I just used the code for SSL from the MongoDB wiki - I think it's more clear in actual formatting. :)
22:04 maschine the SSL connection definitely works
22:05 maschine basically I was using Mango, but that is sort of dead.. and I don't have any choice to use an SSL connection (not a bad thing).  Trying to convert what I had to the MongoDB driver
22:06 [0xAF] maschine: in the working version you call ->get_namespace method from the $client object, in the not-working version you call the ->get_namespace from $client->db object ... where that ->db comes from?
22:07 pink_mist [0xAF]++ good spot
22:08 [0xAF] maschine: ahh, it's not even the ->get_namespace method in the not-working version ... you're calling different things actually
22:08 pink_mist indeed
22:09 [0xAF] maschine: try this helper in the non-working version:  helper collection => sub { shift->client->get_namespace('database.collection') }        i guess it will work
22:11 maschine you know now that I think about it I don't remember why I put db-> in there..  might have copied it from some the mango code
22:12 maschine that did fix the error I was seeing.  Now, to get the object method "collection" to work inside my route.. lol
22:12 maschine thanks :)
22:13 [0xAF] just read correctly what methods are there and what can you call in the $client (MongoDB::MongoClient) object. You should be fine then...
22:14 maschine yeah.. I'm still learning some of this stuff.  I'm not exactly a pro Perl user - I've toyed with it since the ugly time of 1997 when everything was one long CGI script, no strict, no warnings...  I've come a long way at least. :)
22:15 [0xAF] maschine: dont worry, i'm doing some perl from the same year and i'm not a pro either... just a casual (l)user ;)
22:18 maschine I'm still doing something wrong..  http://pasted.co/01f7ae1a
22:18 maschine results in "Can't locate object method "collection" via package "MongoDB::MongoClient"
22:19 maschine actually, I have client->collection->find
22:19 [0xAF] maschine: the error sais it all
22:20 [0xAF] maschine: i've never usedf mongo, but from the man page it seems you're using it wrong
22:22 maschine probably. :p
22:22 [0xAF] maschine: the $client (MongoDB::MongoClient) object gives you ->get_database method (returning another object - the $db object), which gives you the ->find object perhaps
22:22 pink_mist batman: *prod*
22:23 maschine I see
22:24 [0xAF] maschine: from the error you've pasted it seems you're calling the ->find method from the $client (MongoDB::MongoClient), which is wrong... you need to call it from the $db (MongoDB::MongoClient->get_collection() object)
22:25 [0xAF] maschine: besides, (not to be rude), but this is not related to mojo at all....
22:27 [0xAF] maschine: i can try to help you on private if you want
22:30 PopeFelix joined #mojo
22:30 maschine yeah, I suppose not.  But I am using it in a mojo enviroment :)
22:31 maschine if you're willing to help I would appreciate it.. this is the part I've been stuck on the longest.  I think I "get" it otherwise (maybe not the object thing)
22:40 maschine actually I figured it out.  Oddly enough, the example I posted was one I found in the MongoDB documentation for the SSL connection
22:41 maschine I created a separate object for the db and collections, now when I do collection->find it works! :)

22:56 [0xAF] so, i'm going to get some sleep finaly. I hope batman sees my problem and test case later and I'm gladly ask you to remind him, becouse I believe it's a bug in the plugin. I will try to catch with him tomorrow. Thank you all and sorry for being insolent. (batman, thanks for the plugin)
