00:05 mattp are there any optimizations/knobs for being more tolerant of large file uploads with mojo?
00:05 mattp im seeing some odd behavior and peer connection close failures when proxypassing to nginx
00:12 Grinnz mattp: for starters, https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojolicious#max_request_size
00:13 mattp Grinnz: indeed, thanks

15:57 jberger I don't want to maintain a windows backend, but I will gladly donate that snippet to someone who does
15:58 jberger https://gist.github.com/jberger/1badbc7b8b6eb0daea4aa5d63743a6c8
16:08 sri jberger: does that actually work?
16:08 jberger no idea
16:08 jberger I don't have windows
16:09 jberger straight by the docs, I think it should
16:09 jberger its won't report the correct file name that changed, just the base path that contained it
16:09 jberger but that is only for the debug message anyway, so who cares
16:11 jberger I just wanted to try my hand at one
16:16 sri strange how things go sometimes, suddenly the future looks really bad for ubuntu
16:18 sri they should have just focused on server and enterprise
16:18 sri linux on the desktop just won't happen
16:18 jberger oh? is there some news?
16:18 sri they axed their unity desktop and are firing lots of people
16:19 disputin joined #mojo
16:19 jberger they've always wasted a lot of effort on fliers like unity
16:19 jberger so they go back to the standard desktop projects
16:20 * Grinnz has no love for canonical given their practices
16:21 Grinnz but ubuntu has been the closest thing to "mainstream linux" we've gotten so far
16:21 sri naah, that would be android
16:21 Grinnz i suppose
16:22 Grinnz i mean for desktops :)
16:22 haarg although that won't be linux for long
16:22 Grinnz it never was very linuxy to the end user anyway

20:16 webart 8-}   perl -Mojo
20:17 webart perl -Mojo can haz 'stonishing super powers
20:17 itaipu joined #mojo
20:23 webart but it does encourage one-liners :-)  ...
20:26 webart I have a portion of one that does something normal:    $dom->find("a")->map( attr => 'href' )->join("\n");   ... I'd like to filter the ->find("a")  a bit ... does one do that with CSS selector style matching or using plain olde perl ?  (grep etc)
20:27 webart I want to find all attr => 'href'  bot not the ones that have ... id="something"
20:27 pink_mist the ->find("a") returns a Mojo::Collection object, which has a ->grep method (just as you're using a ->map method in your example)
20:28 pink_mist you could also do it with CSS selectors sure
20:28 pink_mist up to you really
20:33 webart ok perfect I neglected ->grep() as method  ... thanks
20:39 webart 8-} bearing in mind that Mojo::Collection is an object  and not just an array / list  ... I now know that more is possible
20:41 irqq joined #mojo
20:52 webart I don"t know if it is a good "pattern" but often I tend to get 75% of what I want from a one liner ... then I formalize it into a script and wrap the -Mojo goodness in "normal perl"
20:55 webart the normal perl part checks if an <a href=""> is a relative or absolute URL/URI ; makes a list; downloads and parses things etc. and all is good.
20:55 webart ... then I find out I can do 1%-2% more of the task with -Mojo  and a ->method() so gradually my scripts get shorter and shorter
20:56 pink_mist webart: also take a look at the "mojo get" command
21:05 webart cool
21:07 webart wondered if anyone was thinking of ways mojo dom parsing etc. might make munging WARC crawl data from http://commoncrawl.org/the-data/get-started/  more perly
21:09 webart there were hints that might have been happening a while ago ... http://blogs.perl.org/users/stas/2013/01/web-scraping-with-modern-perl-part-1.html

22:14 webart sri: indeed ...
22:33 Grinnz i'm only really interested in the inotify one, for obvious reasons
22:50 pink_mist so make it =)
22:51 Grinnz didn't someone else write one?
22:52 pink_mist I think that's what sri is waiting for
22:53 pink_mist iirc marcus or jberger made a small example of what it could look like, but it was never intended for actual publishing
22:53 sri yea, they won't publish it themselves
