09:31 mishanti1 Dang, the Oracle SQL*Plus client is janky beyond belief.
09:34 mishanti1 I mean, the mysql-clients back on 3.x was MUCH better than this is.

13:46 maschine Anyone successfully using Mojolicious::Plugin::DateTime?  Or maybe have a better module/plugin suggestion?
13:47 maschine the CPAN documentation is full of errors unfortunately, and for whatever reason I couldn't get DateTime to work directly within a lite app
13:47 maschine works fine on its own though
13:49 pink_mist 0_o why wouldn't it work in a lite app? 0_o
13:49 pink_mist that makes rather little sense to me
13:50 maschine I get "Can't modify constant item in scalar assignment, near $dt"
13:50 maschine same exact code in a perl script as in the lite app
13:52 pink_mist show both failing and working code please. so I can run both of them and test.
13:52 pink_mist use gist.github.com or something
13:53 maschine https://gist.github.com/anonymous/d874b159bbeb0090a9fc19658a8ac4a9
13:54 pink_mist stash(datetime = $dt) ... that's an assignment
13:54 pink_mist you wanted =>
13:54 maschine argggg
13:54 maschine that's what I get for waking up at 5am every day to work on this project :p
13:55 pink_mist the "Can't modify constant item in scalar assignment, near $dt" was a pretty good error message actually
13:55 pink_mist it told you exactly what you did wrong, and where it was :P
13:56 maschine yeah.. if I was a real programmer, I might have understood it.  or if I just looked at the stash assignment I had right above that line! :)
13:57 maschine not sure that there's much value in using Mojolicious::Plugin::DateTime vs using DateTime directly though
13:57 maschine doesn't appear the plugin is maintained, and it doesn't seem to save me any work

14:13 jberger ummm, yeah, that's not really anything is it :-P

14:14 maschine I got it to work but geeze, pligin is misspelled, 'datetime' should be 'DateTime' and it's missing the ;
14:15 maschine I just switched to use DateTime; instead

17:19 Grinnz maschine: that plugin is completely pointless, avoid it
17:19 Grinnz if you want to use DateTime then use DateTime
17:19 Grinnz i also recommend Time::Piece or Time::Moment for datetime work taht doesn't involve complex time zones

19:01 jamesaxl Much silence and a good disposition, there are no two things better than these.

19:26 cheako Hello, Working on a form to edit a db record identified by id.  I'm stuck deciding if id should be a placeholder as to avoid contaminating validation->has_data.
19:28 cheako If id is part of the query then I can simply do "link_to url_for('edit_convention.html')->query(id => $row->[0])" but if it's a placeholder how would I generate the url?
19:29 preaction url_for( 'edit_convention', id => $row->[0] )
