00:00 simbabque yeap, works... there goes the rubber ducky
00:01 sri ????
00:01 Grinnz still waiting for irccloud to support unicode 9.0 and 10.0...
00:02 simbabque my hexchat doesn't see it either
00:02 Grinnz well not font, just emoji graphics :P
00:02 arcanez I didn't see it in irssi
00:02 simbabque I don't even see the glyph
00:02 Grinnz for a terminal your OS would have to do that
00:02 arcanez iterm2?
00:02 purl iterm2 is not apple
00:02 simbabque oh it's the duck xD
00:02 arcanez I see the donut in the topic
00:03 simbabque I thought the donut was a burger
00:03 Grinnz no ???? is a burger
00:03 simbabque that's definitely a better-looking burger
00:03 simbabque any comments on my code btw?
00:03 Grinnz on the other hand... https://theburgerguide.com/images/burgers/700/1411125670-burgers-2-beer-cleveland-ohio.jpg
00:04 sri it works for me on macos and linux
00:04 simbabque that's a bagel isn't it?
00:04 Grinnz glazed donuts
00:04 arcanez mojo 7 is doughnut
00:04 simbabque we have a place that does bagel-burgers with beef/lamb meat here in berlin, it's pretty awesome
00:04 arcanez somewhere there was a place that listed them all
00:04 arcanez (mojo versions and associated icons)
00:05 simbabque is a donut-burger a durger?
00:05 Grinnz arcanez: https://metacpan.org/pod/Mojolicious#CODE-NAMES has the names  but not the icons
00:05 arcanez it lists how to make it though :)
00:06 Grinnz i did make a pr once to add the icons from a cdn but it didn't look good enough :(
00:12 simbabque while I am installing 5.12 where my tests fail, does anyone have an idea how the "invalid attribute name" erorr in https://travis-ci.org/simbabque/Mojo-Log-Colored/jobs/251357154#L318 can happen?
00:13 simbabque https://github.com/simbabque/Mojo-Log-Colored/blob/master/lib/Mojo/Log/Colored.pm#L26 is the line in question
00:16 preaction that's a Term::ANSIColor error
00:16 simbabque I thought that first too, but wasn't sure how to confirm
00:17 preaction try using Term::ANSIColor directly
00:17 simbabque according to cpantesters it should work on that perl
00:17 simbabque you mean Term::ANSIColor::colored() ?
00:17 preaction it's not about the perl version, i suspect
00:18 simbabque I don't know how to check which module version it installed into the travis box
00:18 simbabque it consistently fails on that version in travis, so it has to be related I think
00:18 preaction it's not about the module version, i suspect. but you can also just run "use Term::ANSIColor; print $Term::ANSIColor::VERSION"
00:20 simbabque https://metacpan.org/pod/Term::ANSIColor#Invalid-attribute-name-%s
00:21 simbabque I think it added the bright colors in version 3 aroudn 2010 https://metacpan.org/changes/distribution/Term-ANSIColor#L131
00:21 preaction the docs say "See COMPATIBILITY for what features were added when and available in which Perl version": https://metacpan.org/pod/Term::ANSIColor#COMPATIBILITY
00:22 preaction so, yes, if you want to support the bright colors, you have to install the right version of the module
00:22 simbabque makes sense
00:22 simbabque well that's easy enough :)
00:22 simbabque thanks
01:28 simbabque the thing is on cpan now
01:28 simbabque good night.

07:41 Craftsmanship When https://metacpan.org/pod/Test::Mojo#new says "In addition to a class name, you can pass along a hash reference with configuration values that will be used to instantiate the application." is it talking about arguments to the constructor to my app?

17:04 CandyAngel There is a typing error in ::Command::prefork for the -P option description (diretory). Also, the description is was a bit mis-leading. It defaults to "the" temporary, not "a" temporary directory (as in, I was expecting it to appear in /tmp/tmp.XXXXX, rather than in /tmp)
17:05 CandyAngel "is was a bit", can you tell I changed that from what I originally wrote? :P

21:02 sri CandyAngel: it's not *the* since we don't make the decision
21:07 CandyAngel You mean, it's made in the temporary directory set in the environment?
21:09 sri File::Spec
21:09 purl i heard File::Spec was in the standard distribution now.  shiver me timbers! or broken in several ways or a module for manipulating file specifications (paths) in a cross-platform way or maintained by DrMath now or "just hard to use correctly." (says Ken). Let's go shopping. or see also: Path::Class
21:09 sri we don't know what it chooses
21:12 sri jberger: so, since you're such a big fan of stevan's latest MOP, have you thought about how we could support it? (%HAS in Mojo::Base and stuff)
21:20 CandyAngel I guess it uses Mojo::File::tempfile?
21:20 sri no
21:21 sri at this point you relly should just look :p
21:22 CandyAngel Unexpected level of confidence is unexpected (and yes, I should, sorry)

23:33 jberger I have been thinking about it actually
23:33 jberger In fact just this morning I rewatched his talk
23:34 jberger I wish he was on irc more
23:34 jberger We chatted briefly about it at TPC
23:34 jberger But VERY briefly
23:35 jberger Honestly, I think we could be a leader in this if it works out
23:35 jberger We are well positioned for it
23:36 pink_mist I'd say it'd be a good idea to support %HAS
23:36 pink_mist at least so long as it doesn't cost much in terms of lines of code
23:37 jberger I doubt we'd go all the way to using Moxie, but yeah using %HAS and maybe even @DOES
23:37 jberger Maybe this is where we get the roles system we've always talked about
