01:20 mib_qwgw9h Setting a header in `before_dispatch` (say, $self->req->headers->header('X-Accept-Version' => 1)) is slowing down the request elapsed time by as much as 3-5ms.  Turns out that this is the slowest operation in a simple one line API that just responds with an empty body.  Is this known/expected?  TIA!
01:20 mib_qwgw9h This is a Mojolicious::Lite app ..

09:42 wouter does Mojo::UserAgent support HTTP/2?
09:43 * wouter is pondering to write a Mojo::Push module that would support the RFC8030 "Web Push" protocol
09:43 wouter but it requires HTTP/2 for some features
09:47 wouter if not, either I don't implement those features (mostly receipts) or I use WWW::Curl instead... neither are optimal

12:53 sri wouter: you don't have to convince us, we already want http/2 support :p
12:53 sri only problem is that everybody who could implement it is too busy with other stuff at the moment

18:17 jberger I still am somewhat interested, but it was a blow when I heard (from sri) that even Google doesn't use it anymore
18:37 kaare joined #mojo
19:28 sri jberger: Google will always make their own new protocols
19:29 sri that doesn't really affect our need for http/2 support at all
19:42 jberger server push would be really nice

20:10 sri $work has no need for http/2, so i'll prolly not get around to working on it anytime soon
20:11 sri minion will keep getting improvements though
20:11 jberger unfortunately, same
20:12 jberger (re http/2 at least)
20:13 sri next suse hackweek is early november, think i'll finish the minion web ui then
20:14 sri yea, i think http/2 support will depend entirely on non-core team volunteers
20:14 jberger I think I speak for you when I say we'd be happy to give pointers we just don't have the time to devote to a full implementation
20:15 sri ye
20:15 jberger and there are some tough things to work out still, even after our mini-hackathon on internals a while back
20:16 sri ALPN support already exists as a branch https://github.com/kraih/mojo/compare/alpn
20:17 sri just not merged yet since it's fairly useless for anything other than http/2

21:36 jberger also if there are any interested contractor types (or free evenings), you can always consider applying for a TPF grant
21:36 jberger I'm sure HTTP/2 support would be an interesting proposal for them
21:37 jberger (not guaranteeing acceptance, just saying it would be of interest)
