02:58 habstina1 I have a MotoACTV on v7.10 that I rooted using the "Flash Boot Image and Root" button on <http://www.cleardroidroms.com/motoactv.php> (seemingly successfully?) but when I tried to press "Return to Stock" later, the program got stuck on "writing flash" (after "erasing flash") and now my actv is stuck on the fastboot screen. What should I do?
02:59 habstina1 matrx: Wait, aren't you the author of this tool?
02:59 matrx nope, cleard is
02:59 habstina1 Ah, sorry, name sounded familiar
03:00 matrx i think i told you about the root tool earlier
03:00 habstina1 But after reading some snippets online it seems like going back isn't supported on my firmware... What should I do, quickly before my battery runs out?
03:01 matrx unplug and shut down with power and the start button
03:01 habstina1 Alright, done. Phew.
03:02 matrx i've only had my actv less than a month, and this channel is mostly quiet
03:02 habstina1 Well I've had mine for less than a day, so you still beat me :P
03:02 matrx did the root image and root not work on your actv?
03:03 matrx or you just wanted to restore for restore sake?
03:03 habstina1 matrx: I clicked "Flash boot image and root" and then it rebooted and everything seemed fine in the cmd window, but after the reboot everything looked the same as stock
03:04 habstina1 Then I realized that according to the instructions on <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085202> (my ROM of choice) I need to get to stock before flashing the image
03:04 habstina1 So that's what I tried to do
03:05 matrx i'll be honest, i haven't tried a restore yet, but i've gotten myself in quite a few pickles. most problems can be resolved with an overnight recharge with the ac adapter and a reflash
03:05 matrx ah
03:06 habstina1 Well, it's booting into stock OS fine now
03:06 matrx that's good
03:06 matrx try pressing the hardware buttons
03:06 habstina1 I had to do the whole setup wizard all over again, so I guess the reset worked
03:06 habstina1 :)
03:06 matrx rather
03:07 matrx when you install cleardroid or some other rom, try pressing the hardware buttons, one will be mapped to home
03:07 habstina1 Hardware buttons working
03:08 habstina1 No, double tapping doens't bring me home
03:08 habstina1 But that makes sense because I never flashed a ROM
03:09 matrx there's not a lot of active development on the actv. cleardroid (cleard) is around and his rom looks like stock until you hit home
03:09 matrx reactv is a 80% working stock android gingerbread
03:10 matrx but it hasn't been updated since jan and the dev bricked his actv
03:13 matrx i'm not sure 100%, but i'm not sure just clicking the install root + boot would give you more than 100% stock with root
03:14 matrx you'd need to use adb to install an alternate home
03:16 matrx cleardroid rom is built on motoactv with another home installed for apps
03:32 matrx good deed done for the day

17:00 habstinat Thanks a lot for the help guys; I rooted my MotoACTV and now I can browse the web and play Fruit Ninja on my watch! :)
