22:35 favioflamingo hello, i would like to upload a module that has only been tested on debian jessie
22:35 preaction cpantesters will test it everywhere else for you
22:35 favioflamingo is there a preferred way of uploading said module comprising a c library
22:35 favioflamingo ah
22:35 favioflamingo ok
22:36 favioflamingo thanks
22:36 preaction as for the preferred way of doing it: #perl mentioned a few ways, but the Alien philosophy is to see if the current OS has the library, and if not, fetch/build/install to a perl-specific directory
22:37 preaction you could in your makefile check if they have a compiler and decide to use the pre-built. otherwise compile from source, maybe
22:38 favioflamingo it looks a bit tough, the library uses autotools to make a configure file and a makefile.  so, i guess ill just have to do some reading at first
22:39 preaction Alien::Base does all that for you
22:39 preaction you just point it at a source tarball available on the web
22:40 favioflamingo ah, that sounds merciful.  ill take a look at Alien::Base :)
22:41 favioflamingo autotools was hard for me.
22:41 favioflamingo anyway, thanks for the help!  Alien::Base looks like the go-to place
22:42 preaction it's not called "autohell" for nothing
22:42 preaction but, to be fair, the problem it attempts to solve is worse
