09:20 viklund masak: some of the tests for the mediawiki-markup is failing (07 and 08) is that unimplemented?
09:21 viklund italics in links and such
09:21 masak viklund: my memory fails me somewhat, but yes, I think it's unimplemented.
09:23 masak viklund: I might get around to that soon as well. but first I'll investigate the — failure moritz_++ reported
09:24 masak things really happened in the last week.
09:24 masak November made a leap forward.
09:25 moritz_ aye
09:25 moritz_ when I click "Edit", I get a "Not logged in" page - but no log in link
09:25 masak moritz_: neener neener :P
09:26 moritz_ ah, it's at the very top right
09:26 masak moritz_: yes :/
09:26 moritz_ it would be nice to repeate the link in the body though
09:26 masak moritz_: indeed.
09:26 masak moritz_: want an account?
09:26 moritz_ masak: aze
09:26 moritz_ erm, aye
09:26 masak German keyboard
09:26 moritz_ keyboard switching, yes
09:27 moritz_ I have an US keyboard at $university, and a German at home
09:27 masak viklund: I don't suppose I can give moritz_ an account, can I?
09:28 masak moritz_: I'm strictly on a US keyboard layout diet these days.
09:28 masak even though most keyboards I use are physically Swedish.
09:28 masak oh!
09:28 masak we don't handle — :)
09:28 masak fixing
09:30 viklund masak: no, but I can
09:30 moritz_ masak: I also considered that, but writing umlauts on a US keyboard is a pain, and I write too many articles where I have to get the Umlauts right
09:31 masak moritz_: on an unrelated note, I'm using Emacs LEIM, and I've never been happier. umlauts are just the start of it.
09:31 masak but ISTR you're a vim user, no?
09:31 moritz_ right
09:31 masak at least you have Ctrl+K, then.
09:32 moritz_ but Ctrl+K a : is still much more effort than ä :-)
09:33 masak yes, I've noticed.
09:34 masak but for me it's worth it (for the few occasions I do write Swedish or other characters in vim)
09:34 masak I like having all the other characters in the right places
09:35 viklund masak: you should do something to make the different links stand out somehow in the toolbar once logged in, now it looks like a continous text.
09:35 masak Matt-W on #perl6 just found another markup unfeature
09:35 masak viklund: prave.
09:35 masak suggestions welcome.
09:35 masak I haven't thought about that much.
09:36 viklund the simplest thing is of course putting pipes between them, maybe have som highliting on mouse-over...
09:36 masak which toolbar are we talking about, btw?
09:36 masak the top right one?
09:37 masak pipes are ok, I guess.
09:37 masak (but a bit tricky to get right)
09:37 masak highlighting, definitely.
09:38 viklund moritz_: you can now login to november-wiki.org, I sent username and password via mail
09:38 moritz_ my gmail mail?
09:38 viklund (yes I know, not very secure, otoh we are vulnerable to dictionary attacks and all kinds of other nasty things)
09:39 viklund moritz_: um, no.
09:39 moritz_ which one, then?
09:39 moritz_ I have too many of them, it seems
09:39 viklund moritz@casella.verplant.org was the one that showed up in my to-field
09:39 moritz_ ok, thanks
09:40 moritz_ Login successful
09:40 moritz_ viklund++ thanks
09:40 viklund great
09:41 viklund the README is now updated as well
09:41 viklund we should have a more formal way of deploying the wiki
09:41 masak preferably a script.
09:42 viklund yep
09:42 masak a configure script, even.
09:42 * viklund wonders when Alva will wake up
09:42 masak she sleeping like a baby again? :)
09:42 viklund masak: otherwise there's no point really
09:42 viklund yes, since 9:15...
10:05 masak ok, fixed the — thing. committing.
10:07 masak done.
10:09 masak viklund: I think I can make lists work fairly soon.
10:09 viklund masak: great!
10:09 masak the general functionality is not easy, but just making '*' work is fairly straightforward.
10:10 viklund masak: &msash; now works on server ;)
10:10 masak ;)
10:10 masak viklund++
10:11 viklund masak: what is the general functionality?
10:11 masak '*#*:' and stuff like that
10:11 masak nested lists of different kinds.
10:12 viklund ahh, nesting
10:12 masak but we don't need that right now.
10:33 viklund masak: do you remember that warning about "Param TAGS is is a Array"?
10:33 viklund alva woke up...
10:33 masak viklund: I remember the warning. I remember that we didn't really know why it occurred.
10:34 viklund its even stranger, it only shows up when using the new skin...
10:35 viklund and that shoudn't affect that, I think
10:35 masak curiouser and curiouser.
10:36 masak my priorities right now are:
10:36 masak 1. unordered lists
10:36 masak 2. caching
10:36 viklund anyway, I've written some tests for the wiki, I'll commit them now and then maybe I can look into that later
10:36 masak 3. page history
10:36 masak viklund: aye
10:36 masak good.
10:36 viklund we haven't had any tests for running the entire wiki before
10:36 viklund now we have ;)
10:37 viklund editing is missing tests of course...
10:37 moritz_ you could always use WWW::Mechanize::Test if you're not too concerned about having tests written in perl 5
10:37 moritz_ but then you'd also need a webserver for testing... maybe that's overkill
10:38 masak I think it'd be a good idea to make a 'microkernel' out of the wiki itself.
10:38 masak so that basic viewing/editing functionality can be tested without any bulky things like servers being involved.
10:39 viklund now it's pushed. I'll be afk for a while now, playing with Alva. (She stood up by herself for the first time yesterday)
10:40 masak \o/
10:48 masak |
10:48 masak /\
11:06 masak due to http://bash.org/?4281, I'll leave it at that.
12:01 masak lunch &
