12:50 masak I've decided to do MVC today.
12:50 masak I'm looking at Camping, and liking its simplicity.
12:50 masak however, I'm not sure I want to reinvent ActiveRecord.
12:51 masak for now, I need something very simple. it'll probably have to be a database backend relying on files.

16:29 masak Tene: ping
17:09 Tene masak: pong
17:11 masak Tene: oh hai. I'm leaving now, but here's a short summary of what I'm currently up to:
17:12 masak I'm building some kind of ORM layer. taking a leaf from ActiveRecord, but not building a 100% solution, just something that I can use to stand on. also, I have neither macros nor metaclass manipulation in Rakudo, so it's a bit more bare-bones. but it's something.
17:12 masak I'm interested in plugging in a real database, not just files.
17:12 masak but I don't have the know-how, and I can't get the examples in Parrot working.
17:12 masak so I'd like some help. at some point.
17:15 Tene masak: so your request is "databases in rakudo plz"?
17:16 masak Tene: in my understanding, there are already examples of that in examples/nci/
17:16 masak but yes. that is essentially my request.
17:16 Tene Okay, I can do that.
17:16 masak excellent.
17:16 masak for my purposes, file backend is fine. but it'd be a nice part of the grant to have a database backend working to some degree.
17:16 Tene traveling today, which can be either good or bad for my productivity.
17:16 masak :)
17:17 Tene sqlite good?
17:17 Tene mysql?
17:17 Tene postgresql?
17:17 masak either.
17:17 Tene memcached?
17:17 masak whatever you get working.
17:17 Tene couchdb?
17:17 Tene umm... loldb?
17:17 masak :P
17:17 Tene dammit, I ran out of databases.
17:17 masak ENOMOREDATABASES

17:18 masak :)
17:18 masak I'm currently mussing over whether I can hijack jnthn's latest traits features to do the work of macros.
17:18 masak s/mussing/musing/
17:19 masak I think I'll have to ponder that over dinner.
17:19 masak see you around.
