13:03 daveloper hi
13:03 aldaris hi
13:04 MegaMatt_ hello
13:04 daveloper is there ldapv3 support?
13:04 aldaris yes
13:04 MegaMatt_ yup
13:04 daveloper I saw in v11 but it isn't there in v12
13:04 MegaMatt_ It’s still there
13:05 aldaris it's there since a loooong time
13:06 daveloper I want to use OpanAM with redhat389
13:06 daveloper or openldap
13:06 MegaMatt_ Feel free
13:07 daveloper some issues:
13:07 daveloper 1. the documentation of 11 says it's supported http://docs.forgerock.org/en/openam/10.0.0/release-notes/index/chap-before-you-install.html
13:08 MegaMatt That’s 10.0.0 docs, btw
13:08 daveloper 11 http://docs.forgerock.org/en/openam/11.0.2/release-notes/index/chap-before-you-install.html
13:08 daveloper but in 12 there it's been removed http://docs.forgerock.org/en/openam/12.0.0/release-notes/index/chap-before-you-install.html
13:09 daveloper and in User Data Store Settings there is nothing to configure for OpenLDAP or something related
13:12 MegaMatt Hmm, yeah, guess they didn’t test it, or won’t support it then
13:13 daveloper it's confusing and somehow disappointing that openam does not support openldap
13:14 MegaMatt My guess is that it will still work
13:15 aldaris I find openldap to be disappointing
13:15 daveloper why?
13:15 aldaris once I used OpenDS/OpenDJ there is no way I'm going to use OpenLDAP for directory services
13:16 aldaris lack of persistent search support is something I don't like for example
13:16 asyd :)
13:17 aldaris it's so much easier/straightforward to configure OpenDJ as well
13:17 asyd i prefer OpenDJ too, but i must confess I liked openldap acl
13:18 aldaris of course I'm a bit biased
13:18 MegaMatt I would say that if you’re going to use OpenAM, it’s probably best to use OpenDJ anyhow - as they are so tightly integrated and tested together….
13:18 daveloper to be honest I'm using 389 which is based on OpenLDAP (fork i Think)
13:18 aldaris and to be frank I was never really able to successfully configure an OpenLDAP locally
13:18 asyd daveloper: nop
13:18 asyd 389 is netscape based
13:18 aldaris which is DSEE based
13:18 MegaMatt 389 is Sun DS
13:18 aldaris and OpenDS/OpenDJ was meant to be the successor of DSEE
13:19 asyd aldaris: it's more dsee that is netscape based than the reverse imho :)
13:19 aldaris which it most likely actually achieve
13:19 aldaris d
13:19 aldaris ah, sorry
13:19 aldaris not old enough :)
13:19 asyd ahah
13:20 asyd btw I'm performing some stress tests on OpenDJ
13:21 asyd and it's incredible
13:21 aldaris because it's been built by incredible people I must add
13:22 MegaMatt I’ll admit, OpenDJ is my favorite out of all our products… heh
13:22 asyd off course since it's main developper is french :p
13:22 aldaris Matt Swift is the architect and he's british AFAIK who chose to live in France :)
13:24 daveloper not important
13:24 daveloper the location..
13:38 daveloper anyway it's disappointing when one opensource product does not support another, but supports close  source ent. products specially M$
13:38 daveloper products
13:39 aldaris openldap can be used with OpenAM
13:39 aldaris we have customers doing that
13:39 aldaris not necessarily our favorite customers though :)
13:39 MegaMatt Can’t you contribute to the open source projects to help them support each other? ;)
13:39 aldaris it's a pain to work with OpenLDAP
13:39 daveloper I want to use 389
13:39 daveloper not OpenLDAP
13:40 aldaris sorry, forgot :)
13:40 aldaris 389 should be just fine, it's a bit outdated, but should work nicely with OpenAM
13:42 MegaMatt BTW, it might not be in the release notes, but it’s still in the configuration docs
13:42 MegaMatt http://openam.forgerock.org/doc/webhelp/admin-guide/sec-data-stores-generic-ldapv3.html
13:43 daveloper what's your evidence when you are saying  389 is outdated
13:47 aldaris so afaik 389 is a netscape fork
13:47 aldaris and so was dsee(?)
13:48 aldaris for some reason I tend to think that 389 is like DSEE 5, but since then actually I have no idea what the fedora project really did with it

21:48 balo anyone who tried to install the IIS 6 agent?
21:49 balo i tried it from this doc: http://docs.forgerock.org/en/openam-pa/3.3.0/web-install-guide/#chap-msiis-6
21:50 balo but the IIS6Admin.vbs command doesn't seem to really enables the ISAPI extensions and adds the wildcard filter
21:50 balo (i tried my own compiled version as well as the nightly)

22:48 balo s/mine/my/
22:48 balo slows me down that my notebook can't really run 3 vms at the same time (build vm, openam, win agent test vm)
22:49 asyd :)
