12:11 insanidade hi all.
12:11 balo hi
12:12 insanidade I'm trying to change my openam installation domain. do you think that installing it all over again would be a better option for that?
12:13 insanidade I have changed the server domain and tried to chabnge the domain information in all places in openam console where I found it.
12:13 balo if you ask me, yes. I did something like this beore (to create a staging from prod) but i had to change it in a lot of places (metadata, etc)
12:13 insanidade but whenever I try to reach it through the new domain, it seems like openam redirects me to the old domain.
12:13 balo search for it also in the configuration ldap
12:14 insanidade balo: did you have to change things in metadata (config files) as well as openam's console ?
12:14 balo you will find it in more places
12:14 insanidade balo: hmmm... so it looks like insalling it all over again would be less time and patience consuming... and more secure. do you agree ?
12:14 balo i meant the saml metadata of sp's mostly. if i remember correctly
12:15 balo yes. it's doable but maybe it will hit you later when you don't expect it
12:15 insanidade balo: I see.
12:15 MegaMatt There’s a document about changing hosts
12:16 insanidade balo: this is just a development installation but I already have at least 3 teams using it in different projects... I'll align with them so that I have the time to reinstall it.
12:16 MegaMatt http://docs.forgerock.org/en/openam/10.1.0/admin-guide/index/chap-change-hosts.html
12:16 MegaMatt Find the one for your version
12:16 insanidade thanks, MegaMatt
12:16 MegaMatt But yes, reinstaling is probably easier
12:18 insanidade MegaMatt: I'm considering it. this is development environment.
12:30 insanidade and, by the way: all agents shall be created again after the domain name changes, right?
12:30 insanidade I mean: every system protected by openam shall generate new agents and deploy them, right ?
12:42 balo not necessarily. you just have to change the domain in the agent configuration file afaik
12:43 balo but if you reinstall, then yes, sorry
12:44 balo maybe if you keep the encryption key...
