11:15 KermitTheFragger so I was experimenting a bit more with OpenAM, oauth2 and multi tenancy and i've got that figured nicely. Now i was wondering how OpenIDM fits in that picture
11:16 KermitTheFragger How do multiple OpenAM realms fit into openIDM?
11:18 MegaMatt I don’t think that much matters, tbh
11:19 MegaMatt OpenIDM can esentially talk to the userstore(s) and consolidate them
11:19 MegaMatt There’s a good basic slide share on it - to illustrate … http://www.slideshare.net/ForgeRock/openidmsummitslides  .. slide 7
11:20 KermitTheFragger ok and that doesn't pose a problem when using an openam session for authentication? it doesn't matter from which realm that session comes?
11:21 MegaMatt yes, but it’s handling that already directly to the user store, isn’t it?
11:22 MegaMatt I mean OpenAM is already handling that situation
11:22 fatbloke joined #openam
11:24 KermitTheFragger yeah OpenAM would handle that correctly
11:26 KermitTheFragger i think ill just start experimenting because i can't really wrap my head around it :-)
11:26 MegaMatt did you look at the slides I posted?
11:27 KermitTheFragger yeah i did, i get the basic concept of openidm
11:28 KermitTheFragger i just don't entirly see how if for example a user signs up OpenIDM knows which userstore (and in effect OpenAM realm) to put the user in
11:28 MegaMatt Why does it need to?
11:28 MegaMatt OpenAM is creating that user
11:28 KermitTheFragger isn't OpenIDM creating the users?
11:29 MegaMatt Not the ones that OpenAM is creating
11:30 MegaMatt And it can take the users from the other data sources and create them however you want, from what I recall
11:30 aldaris lol
11:30 aldaris this is fun to read :)
11:30 KermitTheFragger sure but if you want to use something like a workflow for self registration and approval then you need OpenIDM, right?
11:30 MegaMatt Heh, I’m not an OpenIDM guy
11:30 KermitTheFragger :-)
11:30 MegaMatt But how I see it being used is in slide 7
11:30 MegaMatt where it leaves OpenAM alone
11:30 MegaMatt and just grabs the other userstores and combines them as one
11:31 aldaris yes, probably you would want to create the users in the right user store
11:31 KermitTheFragger so how does OpenIDM know what the right store is?
11:31 aldaris I'm not really sure how OpenIDM works with tenants (haven't really deployed IDM yet, really)
11:33 KermitTheFragger yeah with multi tenants the combining of them all is a "problem" or at least not something you want
11:34 MegaMatt well, I don’t know how you can do the mappings/filters/etc to determine who goes where, I’ll admit that gladly
11:35 KermitTheFragger ;-) still, thanks for the insights
11:37 MegaMatt My hope is that your answer is in the integrators guide
11:38 KermitTheFragger yeah im reading through it
13:02 KermitTheFragger so from what i've gathered so far is that you can use multiple managed objects, one for each realm and then create mappings to LDAP for each realm
13:03 KermitTheFragger however the UI assumes there is an "managed objects" container called user so that would require some customization
14:40 jjpp hi
14:41 jjpp does anyone know of successful usage of jrebel (http://zeroturnaround.com/software/jrebel/) with openam and it's build system?
14:41 MegaMatt Hmm, I know jrebel is pretty agressive in sales....
14:42 MegaMatt But I don’t know who they’ve sold to ;) .. I know they contacted me
14:42 jjpp what I'm looking for is a faster way to develop authentication modules and/or UI customizations (especially for DAUI..)
14:42 jjpp I just finished a demo conference with them.
14:43 jjpp and although we tried to be explicit (and ask if they know if anyone has used it for openam:) it still was the regular demo with pet clinic and stuff.
14:43 jjpp they promised to check their support database, this time.
14:44 MegaMatt Yeah, I’d leave it to them to answer then - I personally haven’t used it
14:45 jjpp I kind of imagine that it is probably possible to take huge shortcuts with jrebel. although perhaps not always and sometimes spending more time on debugging some issues that are caused by thise shortcuts..
14:45 jjpp s/thise/those
14:47 * jjpp thinks . o O ( and the funny thing is that ZT's Estonian HQ is in the same building that I am working in.. )

15:09 balo KermitTheFragger: same here. I was worried :D
