10:19 jjpp hi.
10:19 aldaris Good morning
10:19 jjpp aldaris: you mentioned on the list, that openam devs use idea?
10:19 asyd morning folks
10:19 aldaris if you refer to intellij: yes :)
10:20 jjpp yep, is there some checklist on how to get project imported or is it complete no brainer anyway? :)
10:21 jjpp I'm about to evaluate jrebel to apply on openam development and I try to install "regular" dev environment with idea for myself :)
10:24 aldaris it was quite straightforward IIRC
10:27 jjpp ok, I'll try

11:24 pdpi Hey. Running OpenAM 12.0, having a strange issue where I created a new realm, set it up as an IdP, and when my SP sends me to OpenAM to authenticate, I get stuck on a “Loading…” screen. Any ideas what’s going wrong?
11:24 pdpi (Found a JIRA ticket that seems to describe exactly this, but that was for 11.0 and it’s supposedly closed in 12.0.)
12:24 * jjpp thinks . o O ( hm, i'm incompatible with idea, or something. it did not work at the first attempt. )
12:32 asyd pdpi: do you restart openam after created realm? (dunno it's still  necesserary on 12 however)
12:42 KermitTheFragger pdpi: that happend to me when the "Realm/DNS Aliases" were misconfigured
13:28 pdpi asyd: thanks, I’ll have a look at that
13:28 pdpi KermitTheFragger: what sort of “misconfigured” are we talking about?
13:28 KermitTheFragger pdpi: same domain name in multiple realms
13:28 pdpi aha
13:29 pdpi don’t think so, but definitely worth checking, thanks.
13:29 KermitTheFragger pdpi: in my experience any kind of misconfiguration will cause it to hang on loading for ever
13:29 KermitTheFragger thats basically its way of telling that something is wrong
13:29 pdpi hardly communicative, is it?
13:29 KermitTheFragger turn on debugging to find out whats wrong
13:29 KermitTheFragger lol, yeah not really
13:31 pdpi KermitTheFragger: damn, that was it. Not clashing domains, but rather I cocked up and had the protocol embedded in the DNS alias.
13:31 asyd a
13:32 KermitTheFragger :-)
13:32 KermitTheFragger glad it saved you some time, took me a while to figure it out what the (@#**(@ was wrong with it....
13:33 pdpi Also, while I have your attention — you mentioned turning debugging on?
13:34 pdpi I noticed that the logs are completely useless by default, and tuning the logging level to “finest” didn’t really help.
13:36 pdpi oh wait, found it. Thanks again.
13:42 jjpp aldaris: hm. back again. importing openam as a project into idea so that the idea would be able to rebuild it without errors is still failing. i probably do something trivial wrong.. have you any hint or faq on that?
13:48 aldaris jjpp: Import Project -> Select openam/pom.xml
13:48 aldaris Check the option "Import Maven Projects automatically"
13:48 aldaris Next, Next, Next, Next, Finish.
13:49 aldaris jjpp: Next we need to start a build which will cause IntelliJ to update its configuration.
13:49 aldaris Build > Rebuild Project (CMD+A rebuild)
13:49 aldaris jjpp: You may find that openam-test has been included with all the other modules.  Select it, right click and choose "Remove Module".
13:49 jjpp hm. okay. no setting JAVA_HOME beforehand?
13:52 jjpp hm, okay, thankyou, I'll try to clean my env up and try again.

15:59 KermitTheFragger quick question; what are the benefits of using subrealms? it doesn't really do inheritance it seems. Its just that on first creation the settings get copied but thats it as far as i can tell? Manual doesn't say much about it either

17:55 babbu hello!
17:55 babbu guys I need your help again
17:56 babbu I trying to figure out if there is any way I can configure a realm's  Open AM DataStore to OpenDJ when I am creating the realm - I am using REST call to create the Realm
17:58 babbu MegaMatt: can you please help
18:09 pcypher joined #openam
18:11 MegaMatt I would assume you can
18:11 MegaMatt but I don’t know off the top of my head
18:14 babbu I spent whole weekend trying to figure it out :(
18:14 babbu gong through the code, I can't find any rest call which can configure the service itself at realm level
18:15 babbu when you are creating the a realm, then you can specify which services which you want to associate with the realm
18:15 babbu but I couldn't find a way to provide service configuration for realm itself

20:52 spacegh0st a bit surprised there's a channel for this
20:52 spacegh0st i'm trying to setup single sign on for a web app and i'm trying to setup something to test SAML
20:53 spacegh0st i setup an idp and acquired the metadata.xml, the lib i'm using in my web app needs a PrivateKeyPassword
20:53 spacegh0st what is that referencing?
20:54 spacegh0st also, i need the KeyStore path, how would i get that?
21:00 spacegh0st is the PrivateKeyPassword the Authentication Service Shared Secret?
21:08 pcypher_ joined #openam
21:26 aldaris spacegh0st what are you talking about
21:27 aldaris if your app is an SP, then surely the KeyStore is what stores the private key for the SP entity
21:27 spacegh0st turns out the keystore path is for my application, not for the idp
21:27 spacegh0st still not sure what the private key password is
21:27 aldaris and PrivateKeyPassword is the password to access the private key within that KeyStore
21:28 spacegh0st there's a separate method in the object setKeystorePassword which does that
21:28 spacegh0st http://libraries.io/github/leleuj/pac4j
21:28 spacegh0st at the part "SAML SUPPORT", that's what i'm going off of
