11:51 prasanana HI all
11:51 aldaris hi
11:51 MegaMatt good morning
11:51 prasanana need your advise
11:51 prasanana i am prototyping an new auth module
11:51 prasanana trying to retrive the last sucessfull logged in time
11:52 prasanana i am able to get the fail count
11:55 prasanana I would be happy if you guys can guide me ... is there somewhere ... we are logging in the last sucessfull logged in time in ldap?
11:55 prasanana or does susch a feature exist
11:55 aldaris depends on what kind of directory you are using
11:56 prasanana i am abel to fetch the fail count ...
11:56 prasanana i am trying to do a authentication chain
11:58 prasanana trying to retreive the fail count and last sucessfull logged in time and display in an intermediatory screen between the login screen and sucessfull logged in
11:58 MegaMatt “is there somewhere we are logging the last sucessful logged in time in ldap”? I would check your ldap server for that information…
12:00 prasanana MegaMatt: I meant... on the process of login in AMLoginModule ... on sucessfull login ... is the time of the sucessfull login stored somewhere?
12:04 aldaris you do not seem to pay attention
12:05 aldaris OpenAM doesn't store last login time
12:06 prasanana in that case ... we have to store the value ... and retreive it?
12:06 prasanana is that whati have to do?
12:07 jjpp opendj was able to store that information, iirc. but you have to consider that if you are in an authentication module, right after successful authentication, it will show you that the user did authenticate just before..
12:07 jjpp in case your authentication uses ldap authentication inside..
12:08 jjpp so.. you probably could implement a post auth plugin or something to that effect..
12:12 MegaMatt I feel like I’ve seen this question a few times now, .. would probably be good if somebody posted to the wiki or made a blog on how they did it in their specific environment
12:13 aldaris if I remember correctly OpenDJ can actually track last login time in an attribute if the password policy is set up that way
12:13 aldaris there is a difference in OpenDJ and OpenAM though, OpenDJ tracks BIND operations, OpenAM would track actual authentications
12:14 aldaris the subtle difference comes in around password change (which is implemented by the user performing a BIND and then a MODIFY)
12:14 aldaris which may not be considered the same as an actual authentication
12:16 prasanana "last login time in an attribute if the password policy is set up that way" ... any documentation for setting up this attribute?
12:17 MegaMatt lmgtfy
12:17 aldaris http://opendj.forgerock.org/opendj-server/doc/bootstrap/admin-guide/index.html#pwp-per-server ?
12:17 MegaMatt http://bit.ly/1bx6cK5
12:18 prasanana i rem i had promised @aldaris ... that i will start writing blogs ... on the problems I face ... and the solution ... I will try to start writing blogs for OpenAm
12:18 prasanana when he did help me n configuring the glassfish agent
12:19 aldaris which reminds me that I want to revive my blog
12:20 MegaMatt Aldaris, have you blogged about the quirks behind upgrading to 12?
12:20 aldaris nope
12:20 aldaris because there are just too many :)
12:20 MegaMatt haha
12:21 aldaris the next post will have the title of "Understanding the login process"
12:21 aldaris and after that probably it will be "Demystifying identity caches in OpenAM"
12:22 prasanana would love to have one ... Upgrading from 11.0.0 to 12.0.0 as well ;)
12:22 aldaris 12.0.1 would be better for upgrading, but we still have quite a few outstanding issues
12:27 prasanana we wait for all the issues to be solved before upgrading or will there be a stable version ... which will be advised for upgrading?
12:29 MegaMatt 12.0.1 would probably be a good one to upgrade to
13:01 prasanana thank you guys
13:02 prasanana i will try to blog as well ... i mean start blogging for OpenAm
