10:48 abyss any help with opendj?;)
10:48 abyss I know I tried on #opendj but I suppose it is not easy issue...
10:49 abyss I have a trouble with backups. I've done backup and now I try to restore it but when I restore I still see the new content (deleted) intead of backup...
10:49 abyss I have replication, but I turned off one of replica at all
10:49 abyss at all I mean I did stop-ds ;)
10:49 abyss I'm using following tutorial: https://backstage.forgerock.com/#!/docs/opendj/2.8.0/admin-guide/chap-backup-restore
10:50 abyss I did vim on backup and I can see old data, so I have proper backup
11:05 abyss Ok, I disabled replication on second node and I restored backup on that second... I can see data
11:05 aldaris backup/restore preserves the entry generation IDs, so if you have replication servers running in the deployment, your restored node will automatically catch up with the latest changes
11:06 aldaris as long as you are within the replication purge delay window I think
11:06 abyss yes, but I have today's backup and as far as I read in documentation purge log is 3 days
11:06 aldaris by default, yes
11:07 abyss but ofcourse you're right;)
11:07 abyss how I can check it?
11:07 abyss I've never changed this
11:08 aldaris dsconfig and then somewhere in there :D
11:08 abyss :)
11:09 abyss but what I should do now? ;)
11:09 abyss I resume replication and ofcourse data has been erased ;)
11:09 aldaris disable replication first and then I think you need to try to run initialize with the right node?
11:10 aldaris or what I'd do:
11:10 aldaris restore backup
11:10 aldaris export-ldif it
11:10 aldaris then import-ldif it
11:10 aldaris because that will lose the generation ids
11:10 abyss ok, so maybe I will do only import/export-ldif backups?
11:10 aldaris and then you can reenable replication
11:10 abyss thank you.

11:56 abyss aldaris: unfortunately: /opt/opendj/bin/import-ldif --overwrite --backendID userRoot --ldifFile /ydp/backups/20161010072417.ldif doesn't work
11:57 abyss I turned off replication on second then I restore backup. I can see backuped data. So I did export-ldif and then import this file to first node, and still rewrite data :/
12:01 abyss I mean I still see deleted entries intead of backup
12:04 abyss so the only way is to make replication again:/

12:24 abyss meeeeeeen.....
12:24 abyss it's impossible!;)
12:24 abyss I turned off replication on first and second node
12:25 abyss then I recover data on first and second - I can see data from backup
12:26 abyss then I make new replication... And then... I see content but not from backup:/
12:28 aldaris $ ./dsreplication pre-external-initialization -h [hostname] -p [adminport] -b [baseDN] -I [adminuserID] -w [adminpassword] -P [certtruststorepath] -n
12:28 aldaris then restore the backup on each node
12:28 aldaris $ ./dsreplication post-external-initialization -h [hostname] -p [adminport] -b [baseDN] -I [adminuserID] -w [adminpassword] -P [certtruststorepath] -n
12:28 aldaris the pre/post commands you only need to run on one of the servers
12:40 abyss aldaris: Yes, thank you I found that;)
12:40 abyss but firstly I had to make all replicas to read-only
12:41 abyss holy, that was not KISS ;)
13:27 abyss aldaris: now replication doesn't work. I need do initialize again?
13:31 abyss I did initialize again and everything works fine...
