05:16 wasanzy hello
05:17 wasanzy please I seriously need help
05:19 aldaris joined #openam
05:19 wasanzy I want to run multiple instance of policy agent on same server but doesn't seem to be working for me
05:19 wasanzy am using tomcat
06:29 jamiebowen joined #openam
06:44 asyd wasanzy: same server = same tomcat?
07:17 aldaris joined #openam
07:18 wasanzy asyd: same server = different tomcat instances
07:19 aldaris what is the problem?
07:20 wasanzy aldaris: after installing, I can login to the system because I added the login url to not enforcing url list. but any resource that require authentication, I get error 403.  in fact, token gives me error 403
07:21 aldaris which filter mode is the agent running in?
07:21 wasanzy but is it possible to have two tomcat instances, and two agents on same server?
07:21 aldaris should be
07:21 wasanzy aldaris: can you educate me on the filter mode? am really new to policy agent and openam
07:22 wasanzy but what I know is, with same setup, running just one instance, everything works well
07:24 aldaris check out the agent profile on OpenAM
07:24 aldaris the filter mode is on the first tab of the agent settings
07:25 wasanzy it is set to ALL
07:25 aldaris you probably want to change that to URL_POLICY or SSO_ONLY instead then
07:26 wasanzy aldaris: do I need to add any value?
07:26 wasanzy can I use the two?
07:27 aldaris change it to SSO_ONLY for simplicity's sake
07:27 wasanzy aldaris: sorry but what does that do?
07:27 wasanzy I mean SSO_ONLY
07:28 wasanzy and to install additional tomcat policy agent, should I use separate directory?
07:29 aldaris https://backstage.forgerock.com/docs/openam-jee-policy-agents/3.5/jee-users-guide#filter-modes
07:33 wasanzy ok
07:34 wasanzy and to install additional tomcat policy agent, should I use separate directory?
07:34 aldaris separate directory of what?
07:34 aldaris s/of/for
07:35 wasanzy installing the apache tomcat policy agent I mean
07:35 aldaris AFAIK the JEE agent only supports one installation, so you would need to extract the tomcat agent to somewhere else again
07:36 wasanzy ok
07:36 wasanzy am installing this v tomcat_v6_agent_3.5.1
07:36 aldaris https://bugster.forgerock.org/jira/browse/OPENAM-2974
07:42 wasanzy oh I see
07:43 wasanzy so that suggest, I can't install two instance in same directory. I will do separate then
07:43 aldaris you can't use one extracted tomcat agent, to install the agent against different Tomcat instances
07:45 wasanzy aldaris: yea, am using different extracted agent
07:46 asyd just curious, how you manage your two instances of tomcat? do you use full separated directory? or you're using TOMCAT_BASE etc
07:50 wasanzy asyd: full separated directory
07:50 wasanzy and runs on diff ports
