13:00 kylemcd anyone on osx 10.7 or 10.8 here
13:18 ofarturo kylemcd i have 10.8
13:18 kylemcd could you check that HelveticaNeue.dfont has 11 styles?
13:19 ofarturo is there a way to check it without code or do i need to put some debug traces in ofTTF?
13:20 kylemcd if you're in osx, you can just open the font and font book will show you how many styles it has
13:20 kylemcd like this http://cl.ly/image/0z3y2s1x0Z41
13:21 ofarturo yep 11 styles
13:22 kylemcd cool
13:26 kylemcd are you running 10.8 right now
13:34 ofarturo well i'm on linux usually but have a machine with osx and windows to test things
13:34 kylemcd ok i'll just wait till admsyn is around
13:34 kylemcd https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/issues/2312#issuecomment-21344014
13:34 ofarturo but yes i have it here not i can give it a try
13:46 kylemcd ofarturo does one of those other indices (like maybe index 4) look more similar to the sans font on linux?
13:47 ofarturo let me check
13:47 ofarturo yep, 4 looks better
13:55 kylemcd ok, i'll switch it
13:57 kylemcd oh wait, did you say 4 or 5 looks best?
13:57 kylemcd on irc you said 4
13:57 kylemcd in the comment you said 5

14:41 admsyn would it make sense to throw in a #pragma warning in ofAppGlutWindow.h to warn that it's deprecated?
14:41 admsyn because it's sorta stealthy, what with it all taking place in main.cpp and all

14:53 admsyn ofarturo: RE: the new issue about ESC key, are you talking about OSX?
14:54 admsyn because it works for me, fwiwi
14:54 admsyn *fwiw
14:54 admsyn or are you referring to the fact that the OF window loses key focus after the dialog?
15:03 ofarturo no idea, theo reported that i moved it to another issue because there were like 4 different problems in the same issue
15:03 ofarturo but i guess it could be just the lost of focus
15:03 admsyn yeah that's probably it
15:03 ofarturo can you add that in the issue?
15:03 admsyn sure
15:04 admsyn done
15:04 admsyn is there a static thing that gives you the native window handle? should make fixing it pretty trivial
15:05 admsyn from glfw
15:06 ofarturo yes
15:06 ofarturo check the toggleFullScreen method
15:06 admsyn cool
15:07 admsyn if we're needing to get this done absolutely ASAP the magic incantation is probably something like [nativeWindow makeKeyAndOrderFront:nil]
15:07 admsyn after the [dialog runModal] call in ofSystemUtils
15:07 admsyn or I can tackle it in like 5 hours
15:07 ofarturo :)  i guess the fast method should do by now
15:07 ofarturo is there any possible issues with that?
15:07 kylemcd joined #openframeworks
15:08 admsyn I remember having to give theo a slightly different call to fix key focus after fullscreen / unfullscreen
15:08 admsyn but [nativeWindow makeKeyAndOrderFront:nil] should cover it
15:08 admsyn it might be better to do it with "sheets" instead of modal windows, but hey, I'm not touching that this close to 0.8 :)
15:08 ofarturo ok, if you want to give it a try
15:08 ofarturo :)
15:08 bakercp joined #openframeworks
15:10 admsyn kylemcd: I tried updated develop and got thin-helvetica, btw
15:10 admsyn which I'm pretty sure is what we're after?
15:10 ofarturo hey bakercp i'm going to prepare a generic guide for armv7, i was looking at the instructions you have for beaglebone black. do you know if the ubuntu distributions they have come with graphics card drivers? in that case i can just point to that instructions to install ubuntu and something generic to install OF on ubuntu
15:10 kylemcd admsyn are you on 10.7 or 10.8
15:10 admsyn 10.8
15:12 bakercp hey @ofarturo -- last I checked the graphics drivers are not included -- it required a complicated custom install using the drivers available from TI.
15:12 bakercp I'm not sure what the current status is though, I haven't looked at it for a month or so.
15:12 ofarturo ok, i'll check it there's a ppa or something similar
15:12 bakercp Let me look at a few of the threads I was following ...
15:13 kylemcd admsyn can you screencap this https://gist.github.com/kylemcdonald/527f27e5fe780574cbda
15:14 admsyn kylemcd: http://i.imgur.com/UntYT0p.png
15:15 kylemcd admsyn yeah that looks exactly the same for me
15:15 admsyn woop
15:16 kylemcd hurrah
15:16 admsyn oh I guess that's not thin-helvetica at all, actually
15:16 * admsyn lies
15:16 kylemcd :)
15:16 admsyn but as long as it's consitent :)
15:16 admsyn *consistent
15:17 kylemcd this one looks pretty badass at higher resolutions https://f.cloud.github.com/assets/157106/835129/a4bc01c4-f2d4-11e2-853d-dda5013a603a.png
15:17 kylemcd but anyway i'm assuming bakercp has changes making all this obsolete ;)
15:17 admsyn bakercp: does the new ofFont look a little less drunk?
15:17 bakercp :)
15:18 kylemcd i kind of like https://f.cloud.github.com/assets/157106/835131/a4bdca9a-f2d4-11e2-922e-7a221cc2d5cb.png better than what we have right now though...
15:18 kylemcd but ofarturo said the current one is more similar to linux
15:18 bakercp it's a tricky business fonts … you'd think you should just be able to throw the pixels at the screen ...
15:19 kylemcd ofarturo could you screencap this on linux? https://gist.github.com/kylemcdonald/527f27e5fe780574cbda
15:19 bakercp and have everything line up.
15:20 admsyn bakercp: you should see Core Text. I had to do a thing where a letter shows up nicely in the center of a square. Easy, right? The there's like CTFont, CTRun, CTTypesetter, CTGlyph CTOhManMakeItStop
15:20 bakercp Yeah
15:20 bakercp And core text is one of the better systems out there ...
15:21 admsyn bitmap monospace ftw
15:21 bakercp yeah … it has everything to do w/ how the OS hints etc.  Freetype does a good job for being free.
15:22 kylemcd i've been using this one a lot recently as a substitute for the built in OF bitmap string http://www.dafont.com/uni-05-x.font
15:23 admsyn oh man uni-05_63
15:23 admsyn so very NES
15:23 ofarturo kylemcd http://ci.arturocastro.net/fonts.png
15:23 bakercp looks great on ubuntu :)
15:23 ofarturo i think we need to update freetype in osx and windows small types look really bad compared to windows
15:24 kylemcd wow the font is uglier but the rendering is way better
15:24 ofarturo it could be the type but i think it's just the antialiasing for small fonts
15:24 kylemcd yeah what's the problem with osx?
15:24 kylemcd should i try building a new version?
15:24 kylemcd do you have one bakercp?
15:24 bakercp I don't have one that is at all recent
15:24 ofarturo the patent for that finished a year ago or something like that so perhaps we are still on a version with the old antialiasink
15:25 ofarturo the patent for font antialiasing i mean
15:25 kylemcd aha ok
15:25 kylemcd i'll open an issue for now
15:26 ofarturo i think i opened an issue sometime ago
15:26 ofarturo not sure though
15:26 kylemcd found it

15:30 bakercp ofarturo -- re: SGX egl support on the BBB -- I don't see much progress out there yet.  here's where i was working
15:30 bakercp http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Graphics_SDK_Quick_installation_and_user_guide
15:30 bakercp I believe I got some of the tests working.
15:31 bakercp But as far as I can tell, it is not yet an easy install.
15:31 bakercp Next time I'm near my BBB I'll check on where I left off.
15:32 bakercp Basically https://github.com/RobertCNelson and http://www.eewiki.net/display/linuxonarm/BeagleBone+Black were where I was working.
15:32 bakercp This is also a nice resource http://www.armhf.com/ for quick images, but there is no SGX support.
15:33 bakercp (more: http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardDebian#SGX_Video_Acceleration

15:33 bakercp and here is RobertCNelsons 3.8 kernel attempt to get SGX working -- I wasn't able to get his script working https://github.com/RobertCNelson/stable-kernel/blob/v3.8.x/sgx_build_modules.sh
15:34 bakercp @ofarturo -- But it is all there for reference.  I found it easier to just use TI's guide and go through their process by hand.
15:35 dantheman helllo all
15:35 dantheman from an Italian air force base
15:35 dantheman lol
15:35 bakercp (btw, I cooled it on the BBB graphics development b/c Raspberry Pi -- while quite a bit slower -- has far superior graphics and multimedia performance.
15:36 bakercp (i.e. hardware decoding, full 1080, etc)
15:36 bakercp greets @dantheman
15:36 ofarturo bakercp, i saw yesterday that the ubuntu's from your link had nelsons 3.8 kernel so perhaps they solved it already?
15:36 bakercp did italy set up a base in the Bronx?
15:36 bakercp @ofarturo -- hopefully
15:37 kylemcd wow that's amazing
15:37 ofarturo kylemcd this is how it looks with helvetica neue on linux http://ci.arturocastro.net/helveticaneue.png
15:37 kylemcd oh interesting
15:37 kylemcd hmm
15:37 kylemcd that looks more similar to osx
15:37 bakercp many of them have the 3.8 kernel, but don't have the SGX drivers included
15:37 bakercp @kylemcd it's like a choose your own vector outlines adventure
15:38 kylemcd heh heh
15:38 bakercp It's helvetica neue for the quirky hipster crowd (they are so over neue)
15:39 ofarturo bakercp, ok i guess i'm going to do a generic guide explaining that you need to install linux, graphics card drivers and then install OF
15:40 bakercp @ofartuor yeah, i don't think we're prepared to write a full startup guide for BBB.  Perhaps paste in a few of those links as starting points.
15:40 bakercp But I spent several days on it and kept running into roadblocks.
15:41 bakercp Same story with the Mali core graphics drivers (pcduino and other cheap arm7 processors)
15:41 ofarturo ok
15:42 bakercp The RPI, while relatively slow is still the most amazing small cheap open graphics machine out there.
15:42 ofarturo ubuntu is going to add support for android drivers in their next release so hopefully that'll mean better support for all this cards, mali for examle is used in a lot of android devices
15:42 bakercp exactly
15:43 ofarturo have you seen this one: http://cubieboard.org/
15:44 ofarturo btw, isn't the bbb omap4? it should work with the same drivers as the pandaboard then?

16:08 kylemcd i built the latest freetype for osx
16:08 kylemcd and while there is a very small difference, it's almost negligible
16:08 admsyn what sort of difference?
16:08 kylemcd i'll post a difference image
16:09 admsyn afaict, there's 2 big issues: subpixel rendering / antialiasing whatever is wrong, the kerning / tracking is all weird
16:11 kylemcd http://cl.ly/image/462f1a0k1x30
16:11 kylemcd that's an animated gif showing the difference
16:12 kylemcd the new version is only slightly better, but it is a little better
16:12 admsyn yeah it looks like whatever changed is almost totally the same
16:12 dantheman joined #openframeworks
16:12 admsyn just lets the leg of that dancing x through :)
16:13 kylemcd heh heh
16:14 kylemcd yeah the new lib has both legs equally light-colored
16:14 kylemcd the old lib only one is light-colored
16:14 admsyn do mono fonts look a little more sane?
16:14 admsyn maybe "simpler" fonts (as in less features) will be totally a-ok?
16:14 admsyn but yeah, fonts >:|
16:15 kylemcd i can try
16:15 kylemcd http://cl.ly/image/3s3E3W352u11
16:16 admsyn the 20px mono looks pretty much right :)
16:16 admsyn except the u..
16:17 admsyn yeah, something ain't right
16:17 admsyn it's like some feature of the font system is being totally disregarded
16:17 kylemcd i wonder if it's an off by one in a texture size somewhere
16:17 ofarturo have you tried setting the dpi to 72?
16:18 kylemcd i'll try
16:19 admsyn I'm reasonably confident it's something to do with subpixel rendering..the way the m the in the monospace 8px is just one block looks like it's smooshing all the RGB info together, or disregarding something
16:19 admsyn but idk, really
16:20 kylemcd ofarturo 72dpi just makes everything smaller
16:22 admsyn I'm paging my libre graphics font friends
16:23 ofarturo i remember freetype had a flag to enable the patented algorithm but i think it's enbaled by default now, might be worth to check though
16:24 kylemcd yeah it's enabled by default
16:25 kylemcd well i'm going to leave it there
16:25 kylemcd ofarturo should i push the new osx libs?
16:25 kylemcd it's just 600kb
16:35 ofarturo yes i guess it's ok, although if it doesn't make that much difference not sure if it's worth
16:36 ofarturo don't get why it looks better in linux though
16:36 ofarturo what version have you compiled? i have 2.4.11
16:36 kylemcd i did 2.5.0.1 the latest
16:37 kylemcd could you send me your font
16:37 kylemcd i could try using the exact same font and see if that makes a difference
16:37 ofarturo yep
16:44 admsyn ofarturo: I'm having a little trouble finding out how to get the native window handle from an arbitrary place
16:44 admsyn the setFullScreen implementation uses an internal static var that isn't exposed as far as I can tell
16:44 * admsyn is trying to get the native window handle in ofSystemUtils.cpp
16:45 ofarturo yes right now you need to do it from glfwwindow, we can add a method per platform to get it in ofAppGLFWWindow i was thinking on adding something like that but decided to leave it for next version
16:45 ofarturo kylemcd just send you by mail
16:45 kylemcd thx
16:48 kylemcd ok, i think the trick is just that DejaVuSans is much better suited for freetype :)
16:49 kylemcd http://cl.ly/image/382T2g2L0o1L
16:49 admsyn the 7px is pretty cute :3
16:51 kylemcd so there is no osx-specific bug, it's just that helvetica + helvetica neue aren't rendered by freetype as well
16:51 ofarturo even with that i think they render much more blurry in osx
16:51 ofarturo well  slightly more blurry :)
16:52 ofarturo compare  http://ci.arturocastro.net/fonts.png  with  http://cl.ly/image/382T2g2L0o1L
16:53 dantheman yo
16:53 dantheman did someone just change ofImage?? there are some bugs if you try to build for iOS
16:55 ofarturo it's probably from the logging changes
16:56 dantheman yeah line 1046 and 1048 are screwed up let me do a PR
16:57 jvcleave ofarturo, dantheman I am going to edit the OF/RPI setup guide for the next few hours
16:57 ofarturo ok, i just pushed a generic guide for armv7
16:57 dantheman jvcleave: ok I'm on set ATM so I'll review it tonight
16:57 dantheman ofarturo: https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/pull/2327
16:58 kylemcd ofarturo i forgot to remove the 72dpi call
16:58 kylemcd better comparison http://cl.ly/image/2J1X0m3B0w1B vs http://ci.arturocastro.net/fonts.png
16:58 kylemcd whoops
16:59 kylemcd http://cl.ly/image/1i462Q1Z3F2c
16:59 kylemcd i think it's exactly the same
17:00 dantheman lol run some openCV on it to make sure kylemcd
17:01 admsyn why CV when you can 2-frame gif
17:01 dantheman to compair them?
17:01 dantheman idk I'm talking out of my ass
17:01 admsyn :p
17:02 ofarturo yes it's pretty similar, it has this kind of weird shadow around the font on osx but it's much clearer than helvetica
17:02 kylemcd heh heh
17:03 ofarturo err, my browser was resizing your image, :) yeah they are the same
17:15 jvcleave ofarturo, for the arm6 release - are we planning on including only the examples that work on the RPi?
17:16 ofarturo almost all of them should work no? but let me know which doesn't and i'll add an exception in the script. currently i'm removing the ones that are osx specific and the glInfo one that won't work on gles
17:18 jvcleave cool - I believe they all compiled but not sure they all ran correctly
17:18 admsyn wat
17:18 admsyn Je gzzz fr sa fr a fr zzzz fr sa zgearga fr afze gf zrzt de fz fer z3 fr
17:18 jvcleave I'll go though them and make a list
17:38 dantheman oh man they just mounted the 12th 20k projector
17:43 admsyn ofarturo: alright, I can handle the load dialog + key focus issue on OSX, but only by pulling glfw stuff into osx

18:29 bilderbuchi hey, anybody in here a regex master?
18:30 * admsyn is not
18:33 jvcleave that latest email on the devlist fron Emmanuel Geoffray looked like regex ;)
18:36 admsyn maybe if we figure out how to parse it it'll finish the changelog for us :3
18:43 bilderbuchi ah lol yeah
18:43 bilderbuchi argh regexes break my brain
18:45 ofarturo bilderbuchi, what are you trying
18:45 bilderbuchi trying to find all the instances where Dan put an unbalanced parenthesis into an oflog call
18:46 ofarturo :) i think we will end earlier by trying every platform
18:46 bilderbuchi my best bet so far is
18:46 bilderbuchi egrep -inr --include=*.h --include=*.cpp "ofLog.*\"\);"
18:46 bilderbuchi but that only finds those where there's a "); at the end
18:48 ofarturo yeah i think you'll need memories to check that the number of opened parenthesis is the same as closed but not sure how that would work
18:48 ofarturo it's ok though, osx it's tested, i've tested linux and the other dan has tested ios/gles
18:48 ofarturo i'm going to do something in windows now so with that everything should be ok
18:49 moofy at the end?
18:49 bilderbuchi but I already found 4 more
18:49 moofy put a $
18:49 moofy should match end of line
18:49 bilderbuchi and i haven't even copmiled yet
18:49 moofy you could use \s+$ if you think there's trailing whitespace
18:49 ofarturo have you pulled latest develop? i fixed it on linux this morning
18:50 bilderbuchi yes i have
18:50 ofarturo mmh and in which platform was that?
18:50 bilderbuchi moofy: the pattern is (* for any char)
18:50 bilderbuchi *ofLog*<unbalanced parentheses in here>;
18:50 bilderbuchi not compiled yet
18:50 bilderbuchi but
18:51 moofy oh sure
18:51 moofy i just meant that at the end
18:52 bilderbuchi diff here, arturo: http://pastebin.com/FJPeuzhR
18:53 bilderbuchi ah, i'll cast a wider net, and go through the list manually
18:53 bilderbuchi faster than regex magic finding
18:55 ofarturo most of those are commented though so it's ok
18:55 ofarturo we just need to test on rpi
18:56 ofarturo or even just check EGLWindow, should be ok
18:57 bilderbuchi actually, just one of those changes is in a commented section (or are you reading a different diff?)
18:57 bilderbuchi I didn't find any more, will make a PR
18:58 kylemcd joined #openframeworks
18:59 bilderbuchi sry, 2
18:59 ofarturo yes and the other one in EGLWindow :) i just fixed a couple in windows
18:59 ofarturo in ofDirectShowGrabber, do you have those?
19:02 bilderbuchi there's another one in ofAppEGLWindow except the group of 5 i found?
19:02 bilderbuchi no, haven't foudn any in ofDirectShowGrabber
19:03 ofarturo ok, just to not have conflicts, i'll fix it
19:03 bilderbuchi currently going trhough addons and examples
19:03 bilderbuchi you take my diff from above?
19:03 ofarturo and no i didn't found anymore in EGLWindow i'll take a look
19:03 ofarturo no i mean i'll fix the ones in directShowGrabber
19:05 bilderbuchi ok. i'll PR my fixes in a sec
19:05 ofarturo great
19:08 bilderbuchi done https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/pull/2329

19:19 bilderbuchi thanks adam :-)
19:19 bilderbuchi I put it in an issue, to
19:19 bilderbuchi *too
19:20 bilderbuchi ofarturo I guess you are digging around in the package build server code again before release? if so, https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/pull/1497 ?
19:24 ofarturo :)  man sorry about that one but it's a pain in the ass to do it, there's cron tasks, calls from one server to another...   i would need to check that everything is working properly afterwards and i prefer not to break today's nightly builds.
19:24 ofarturo i promise i'll merge it as soon as we release 0.8 remember me if i don't :)
19:31 bilderbuchi ok no prob
19:31 bilderbuchi on  another note:
19:32 bilderbuchi why do we have two differently capitalized gpuparticlesystemexamples??
19:32 bilderbuchi this is currently driving my dropbox crazy
19:33 bilderbuchi can you fix that real quick ofarturo?
19:33 bilderbuchi I guess it will also explode windows users' computers?

19:42 bilderbuchi filed an issue: https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/issues/2330

19:45 ofarturo bilderbuchi, it's only on your computer not on the repo
19:45 bilderbuchi I beg to differ: https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/tree/develop/examples/gl
19:45 bilderbuchi I made sure to check that before filing :P
19:45 ofarturo :)
19:46 ofarturo ok yeah i'll remove it, yes don't know how that doesn't make windows explode
19:50 bilderbuchi yeah me neither
19:50 bilderbuchi maybe puts it into one folder, cause from meld I see there's no actual file collisions inside
19:51 jvcleave ofarturo, bilderbuchi - getting a couple of errors probably due to log reformatting - you want me to just paste them here or open an issue?
19:51 ofarturo have you pulled recently (like in the last 15mins :)
19:52 jvcleave yeah
19:52 ofarturo ok
19:52 ofarturo yes please or send a PR if you know what it is
19:52 bilderbuchi +1 either is fine
19:52 jvcleave well - not in the last 5  mins :)
19:52 jvcleave i'll pull that now
19:54 jvcleave i would just do a PR but this repo isn't attached to my account
19:55 jvcleave https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/blob/develop/libs/openFrameworks/app/ofAppEGLWindow.cpp#L611
19:55 jvcleave sorry
19:55 jvcleave https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/blob/develop/libs/openFrameworks/app/ofAppEGLWindow.cpp#L622
19:55 jvcleave missing semi
19:56 jvcleave https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/blob/develop/libs/openFrameworks/video/ofGstVideoGrabber.cpp#L330
19:56 jvcleave missing )
19:56 jvcleave that's it
19:59 ofarturo i don't see the first one... there's no logs in there
20:00 ofarturo i've just fixed the ones i've seen, can you pull again see if it fixes it?
20:00 jvcleave right - first one was a mis-pasted
20:01 jvcleave compiling now
20:03 admsyn ofarturo: ofGetCocoaWindow looks good, just going to add an #ifdef (__OBJC__) and change return 0 to return nil
20:03 ofarturo ok perfect
20:03 admsyn because I got compilation issues out of the box, and nil is more idiomatic than 0 (though I believe they're the same, technically)
20:03 ofarturo i can fix it in a moment...
20:03 admsyn already got it :)
20:04 jvcleave ofarturo, bilderbuchi all good now
20:04 ofarturo great jvcleave and admsyn :)
20:04 bilderbuchi thanks
20:11 admsyn ofarturo: ahh this means ofAppRunner would need to be compiled with objective-c++ mode
20:12 admsyn which is a PITA
20:12 admsyn maybe I'll just void * it instead of id?
20:12 ofarturo sure if that works its better than having to make it objective-c++ by now
20:13 admsyn yeah I think it'll be fine
20:13 admsyn presumable if you're calling ofGetCocoaWindow you know how to (NSWindow *) it

20:22 admsyn ofarturo: in ofAppBaseWindow.h, the ofGetCocoaWindow call etc should be virtual, right?
20:22 admsyn or am I possible misunderstanding how it's set up..
20:23 ofarturo yes they should be virtual
20:23 admsyn alright
20:23 ofarturo can you make all of them virtual? the linux and windows too
20:23 admsyn sure
20:23 ofarturo thanks

20:27 jvcleave ofarturo, does the projectGenerator work under debian_armv6l?
20:27 decultured joined #openframeworks
20:29 kylemcd joined #openframeworks
20:29 ofarturo jvcleave haven't tried it but it should
20:29 jvcleave reason I am asking is that the install_dependencies script is setup to compile OF and then the projectGenerator - also it is compiling both the Debug and Release versions of OF
20:30 ofarturo yes that's ok is it giving any problem?
20:30 jvcleave and for some reason it is not using distcc
20:30 ofarturo we can remove the step where it builds the PG but it think it should be ok
20:30 jvcleave just trying to save some time - wondering if compiling Debug will take an extra hour
20:31 ofarturo have you checked the instructions i did for distcc? should be much simpler than before
20:31 ofarturo but you'll need to set the env variable so it uses the correct gcc
20:32 jvcleave the projects are using distcc still  - maybe because install_dependecies is running under sudo?
20:33 jvcleave looking at your distcc guide now
20:38 ofarturo the projects? you mean the makefiles?
20:39 jvcleave the examples
20:39 jvcleave if I compile an example it uses distcc but install_dependencies doesn't
20:39 ofarturo ah ok
20:39 ofarturo yes then its probably because of sudo
20:40 ofarturo edit install_dependencies and add the export there
20:40 ofarturo or better even compile_OF.sh
20:40 jvcleave yeah - I can compile manually which is what I usually do but I was going through it for the setup guide
20:40 ofarturo ah ok
20:41 ofarturo we can add a parameter to install_dependencies which passes it to compile_OF so it sets up the env var
20:41 jvcleave can we just remove the compile OF/PG steps and give instructions to do it manually?
20:43 jvcleave also - i see your cross-compiling guide but I think this file is missing in git Raspberry-Pi-DISTCC-guide.html
20:44 ofarturo yep sorry just added it
20:44 ofarturo i'm going to check what's the best way to do the compile OF/PG step
20:45 ofarturo probably we can skip compiling OF completely now since it'll be compiled when the first application is compiled
20:45 jvcleave cool - I don't think most people will end up using Debug right away
20:45 jvcleave thanks!
20:47 ofarturo ok yes let's remove those from the install_dependencies scripts
20:47 ofarturo i'll add instructions to compile the PG on linux
20:48 ofarturo it's actually better since that way we wont' have problems with sudo creating files with admin permissions
20:48 jvcleave right
20:48 ofarturo do you want me to remove those from the scripts?
20:49 jvcleave yeah - i am on a seperate folder that isn't attached
20:49 ofarturo ok i'll do it
20:52 achim joined #openframeworks
20:53 admsyn weird, github says my PR can't be merged, but I can't see any conflicts on my end?
21:01 admsyn oh nevermind I see it
21:10 ofarturo jvcleave i just pushed the changes to the scripts and fixed the installation guide for linux
21:10 jvcleave awesome - I'll give it a run :)
21:12 jvcleave almost finished with the docs
21:34 admsyn oh man, so close
21:34 admsyn 98% on the 0.8.0 milestone
21:35 ofarturo yep we are done, we just need to finish the arm guides and create the release packages
21:46 jvcleave found the blogfile bug - was smart quotes
21:47 jvcleave or not so smart quotes
22:28 ofarturo jvcleave, that looks great
22:28 jvcleave good :)
22:29 jvcleave i figured keep it minimal and we can build from there
22:29 jvcleave not so scary
