03:47 The_Fly hi, im using ofDisableNormalizedTexCoords but it appears my textures are still normalized
03:48 The_Fly is there something im possibly missing?
03:48 The_Fly id like my textures to be in (0,0)->(1,1) range as normal
03:49 The_Fly and notice the framework is using texture matrices
04:23 admsyn joined #openframeworks
04:34 The_Fly ah, my bad. ignore that

15:45 fossterer Hi! the addon 'ofxQtSaver.h' throws a 'GWorldPtr' not declared error. where is this defined?

19:04 fossterer Don't I need to include "ofDirList.h" explicitly?
19:04 fossterer hi!
19:07 fossterer Alrigt.. It is ofDirectory now :-) THanks to the previous helper (on last Monday)
19:31 fossterer Please.. I solved this but need help in understandiong the error -  "src/ofxAutoControlPanel.h|9|error: request for member ‘update’ in ‘ofEvents’, which is of non-class type ‘ofCoreEvents&()’ "
19:32 fossterer I see that in the code I have I've to change ofEvents.update to ofEvents().update.... But what does that error mean?
19:33 admsyn hey fossterer, just a sec
19:34 fossterer hiiii @admsyn.. I was thanking you earlier.. In fact [Bad Memory Effect]
19:35 superFluid joined #openframeworks
19:35 jvcleave do you still get the error after changing it to ofEvents().update?
19:35 fossterer no.. It got solved but
19:35 fossterer I'm not able to read the error...
19:36 jvcleave that error usually means you are trying to use dot-syntax instead of pointer syntax
19:36 admsyn fossterer: is the code triggering that error from your 007-era code?
19:36 admsyn ofEvents syntax changed a bit since then
19:36 fossterer lol.. yeah
19:36 admsyn it's not complex, IIRC you just need to use pointer syntax instead of dot as jvcleave said
19:37 admsyn so -> instead of .
19:37 fossterer @admsyn.. are all these changes documented somewhere? I seem to be bothering you people too much :(
19:37 jvcleave that is a common c++ error
19:40 fossterer heyy wait! 'ofEvents->update' is not working but 'ofEvents().update' is.. @admsyn:
19:45 admsyn yeah I don't know exactly how it goes off the top of my head :) check out the events example
19:47 jvcleave right - i had it backwards - I just usually do the opposite of what I am doing :)

19:58 fossterer hahaa.. jvcleave: @admsyn: I felt it's improper to ask a C++ question in this OpenFrameworks IRC.. Please answer if possible here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19692663/error-request-for-member-update-in-ofevents-which-is-of-non-class-type-of
19:59 jvcleave http://stackoverflow.com/questions/877523/error-request-for-member-in-which-is-of-non-class-type
20:11 admsyn fossterer: feel free to ask C++ questions here, I'd prefer it to the IDE setup questions for sure :)
20:11 fossterer hahhaa.. is that a dig at me ;)
20:11 fossterer ?
20:12 fossterer anyway.. thanks for the support
20:12 fossterer I'm stuck at 3 cute last errors... Let me study those before asking

20:54 mst1228 i asked this yesterday also, been looking around for options most of the day: Does anyone have suggestions on how to improve rendered text?
20:55 admsyn there are a lot of things that can go subtly wrong..can you show a screenshot?
20:55 mst1228 sure thing
20:55 admsyn I'm afraid there's probably not a lot though
20:56 admsyn *not a lot you can do

21:14 fossterer One last issue -- "invalid use of non-static member function ‘void testApp::frameReceived(ofVideoGrabber&) " at the line "ofAddListener(frameReceived, listener, &(L::frameReceived));"
21:14 fossterer Any more info required to solve this?
21:16 fossterer I am not able to see where the definition for that 'ofAddListener()' exists... Neither in ofVideoGrabber nor in ofThread.. Those are the only classes my class extends
21:19 admsyn is your testApp's frameReceived a static method?
21:21 fossterer @admsyn: This is the only line in testapp.cpp  -  void testApp::frameReceived(ofVideoGrabber& grabber) {
21:21 fossterer that mentions frameReceived
21:22 admsyn it would be in testApp.h though
21:22 admsyn it looks like ofAddListener is looking for a static member function, which would mean it's declared like "static void frameReceived" in testApp.h
21:22 fossterer 1st occurrence  -  public: void frameReceived(ofVideoGrabber& grabber);
21:23 fossterer in testapp.h as you pointed
21:23 admsyn yeah, so it's a non-static member function
21:23 admsyn it's hard for me to tell you how to fix it unless I know what it is you're trying to do
21:24 admsyn you could just try throwing "static" in front though
21:24 fossterer 2nd occurrence is in a different .h file   -  public: ofEvent<ofVideoGrabber> frameReceived;
21:24 admsyn chances are pretty good that won't work :)
21:24 fossterer Wait..a re there any conflicts between these two?
21:27 admsyn which two?
21:27 fossterer the two occurrences I mentioned just
21:28 fossterer testapp.h includes the different .h file I mentioned
21:28 admsyn I can't piece this together from single lines of code, you'll need to show me the file
21:28 igorline joined #openframeworks
21:28 admsyn if it's in a class that's also called testApp, then yes it'll conflict
21:28 admsyn but you wouldn't get an error like the one you're getting, you'd get something about duplicate symbols
21:29 fossterer well... I've to leave... Hope this gets solved tomorrow.. thanks for the help.. @admsyn: bye
21:29 admsyn np, good luck
