02:02 admsyn I made an Xcode plugin for adding addons to projects, if you're into that : https://github.com/admsyn/OFPlugin

20:32 jedahan hmm having trouble understanding ofPolyline and smoothing and such... I am trying to draw a bunch of circles along an ofPolyline shape, to do collision detection. https://gist.github.com/jedahan/7419803 is the code and https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bux9xz6s96meli0/HOnJjQp33B are the screenshots (at the bottom)
20:33 jedahan I can understand if getVertices() after a getResampled... does not preserve order, but just drawing circles should be along the entire line / shape and it isn't
20:33 jedahan I am having trouble describing the problem clearly
20:33 admsyn yeah I don't quite get it yet
20:33 * admsyn looking through code
20:33 jedahan specifically https://www.dropbox.com/s/hiqi6xjqkpyyzch/Screenshot%202013-11-11%2015.28.02.png?m
20:34 admsyn I think the way your for loop is working might be a little weird
20:34 admsyn I *think* that's actually going to resample it every time through the loop
20:34 admsyn or otherwise do something weird
20:35 admsyn this bit -> for(ofPoint v : p.getResampledBySpacing(20).getVertices()){
20:35 admsyn what if you do like vector<ofVec2f> verts = p.getResampledBySpacing(20).getVertices() first, and then loop through verts?
20:37 jedahan yeah that fixes it
20:37 jedahan I should just avoid that syntax i guess :D
20:37 jedahan thanks admsyn
20:38 jedahan pretty glitches though!
20:38 admsyn yeah I think what that was doing it is resampling it every iteration, which probably would have done something weird with C++'s foreach :)
20:38 admsyn because every iteration would have technically been a different vector
20:38 admsyn or something
20:38 jedahan it would be nice if getResampledBySpacing actually preserved vertex order
20:38 jedahan so the black line would be a solid square instead of those crazy crosses
20:39 admsyn I'd think it would, it's probably just that (since every iteration was a different vector) you were getting undefined behaviour
20:39 * admsyn is guessing
20:39 jedahan but that might be asking for more than anyone would need
20:39 jedahan nah it still crosses now: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kdwi7uv9zbxhlfg/Screenshot%202013-11-11%2015.35.52.png?m more consistent but still crossing
20:42 admsyn ah vOv
20:42 admsyn possibly call simplify() ?
20:42 admsyn that looks a little too ordered to be random, though
20:44 jedahan yeah i kinda wanna dig into how its created
