17:36 Andre__ Hi all..
17:37 AndreasGR Hello all
17:38 AndreasGR I need to ask somethink if someone knows..
17:41 AndreasGR I need to use the "ofVideoGrabber::grabFrame()" that Joshua Noble uses at "http://www.creativeapplications.net/tutorials/arduino-servo-opencv-tutorial-openframeworks/" but as i can see at the last version the grabFrame() has been removed. Is there anyway or another method for the same think.?

19:28 Pando_ AndreasGR: I don't know the ofVideoGrabber, but a feature regression would be surprising, could it be that it is automatically done at each update ?
19:29 Pando_ maybe it now works the same way without having to call it
19:30 Pando_ ok, check http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18343272/initialize-ofvideograbber-without-grabframe-openframeworks

19:50 Pando_ I have a math oriented question with lighting
19:50 Pando_ I'm trying to learn lighting with shaders since in modern opengl all gl_Lightsource things are deprecated
19:51 nylki joined #openframeworks
19:51 Pando_ so I'm going through the basic example of passing a directional light to the shader, but then I have to pass the light direction's vector to it, in eye space
19:53 Pando_ I think I just mixed up light position and light direction. does light.getGlobalOrientation gets us the light's direction vector ?
19:57 Pando_ also, I'm a bit puzzled since for example to compute a light's position in eye space
19:57 Pando_ I've seen here (http://forum.openframeworks.cc/t/light-using-glsl-150/14332/8) that you can do it like this :
19:58 Pando_ ofVec3f cameraSpaceLightPos = light.getPosition() * cam.getModelViewMatrix(); (granted you have a camera)
19:59 Pando_ but then, I would have expected that cam.worldToCamera(light.getPosition()) gets us the same result
20:00 Pando_ but it doesn't, the results are very different because cam.worldToCamera actually multiplies by the ModelViewProjection matrix (not the ModelView)
20:01 Pando_ and elsewhere I've read that to make the world->eye coordinates transition, you need to multiply the position by the view matrix. and here we multiply by the modelview or MVP...
20:02 Pando_ that's a lot of explanations, I think I'm going to do a post on the forum :-/

22:21 egradman On 0.8.1 on  a Raspberry Pi, ofGetWidth()/ofGetHeight() is returning sizes different from what I specified in ofSetupOpenGL.  I specified 1024x768 full screen but I'm getting 1600x1200.  Any thoughts on why that might happen?
22:23 egradman okay, when I use OF_WINDOW the size is as specified.  Perhaps OF_FULLSCREEN is failing to switch the monitor to the requested mode and falling back on a supported resolution?
22:34 AndreasGR Thanks Pando_ I'll check it..
