19:06 pizthewiz admsyn: Any luck with the Apothecary formulas?
19:06 admsyn haven't had much time unfortunately
19:07 admsyn my flight ended up being cancelled so I actually just got back to TO late last night
19:07 pizthewiz Nasty, I think my flight out of MSP was the last of the day before the airport closed?
19:07 admsyn yeah I think mine in the middleground where they didn't know what to do
19:07 admsyn so it got delayed a bunch and then cancelled
19:07 admsyn but not the end of the world
19:08 pizthewiz Yeah, it seemed as though everything was sliding out pretty badly waiting for a plane, pilots, and crew
19:08 admsyn I should respond to the email, though, looks like there might actually be concensus that our course of action is the right one
19:08 admsyn and that, like, never happens
19:08 admsyn so yey
19:10 pizthewiz Yeah, that sounded like a very positive response, though it didn't yet mention 32-bit as backwards compatibility right?
19:10 admsyn yeah that was in my email
19:11 pizthewiz Ok great
19:11 admsyn 32bit / libstdc++ as an official config, but for legacy
19:11 admsyn and then 64bit / libc++ / C++11 as the main default config
19:11 pizthewiz So we'd just need an arch define around anything that used C++11/libc++ right?
19:11 admsyn but then no 32bit / libc++ by design
19:11 admsyn pretty much yeah
19:12 admsyn I still haven't looked too much into apothecary's "internals" but it should be sane ish?
19:13 pizthewiz Yeah I think that won't be too bad, we'd probably just need to add support for multi-arch build / lipo
19:13 admsyn right the multipass thing
19:13 admsyn really I don't think it'd be that big a deal if apothecary just generated the individual config's libs
19:13 pizthewiz It could be done really crudely all within prepare/build/*
19:13 admsyn as in it made the two seperately
19:14 admsyn and then lipo was manual
19:14 pizthewiz Sure, that is legit too as long as we can define the ARCH manually when running the tool
19:14 nylki joined #openframeworks
19:14 admsyn right so like ./apothecary update opencv arch=the-new-shit
19:15 pizthewiz exactly
19:15 pizthewiz So you'd have to ./apothecary build OpenCV ARCH=i386 && copy the folder to some other name && ./apothecary build OpenCV ARCH=x86_64 && lipo two folder contents
19:17 admsyn yeah I could see maybe an general purpose "configuration" flag you could pass into an ./apothecary update command that makes its way into the script
19:18 admsyn and then, say, the opencv script knows to put the build into a seperate folder
19:18 admsyn because that could be useful for other OSs too
19:18 admsyn so like ./apothecary update OpenCV —config="osx-64"
19:19 admsyn but I haven't given this much thought
