19:47 Alski Dealing with ofMesh, wondering, how can I find the exact pairing (in the primitive_points mode) of my vertices? Right now I am selecting one vertex for point a, and a vertex one index higher for point b, but there is no way to assure that a->b is actually between the related vertices.
19:47 nok_ joined #openframeworks
19:48 admsyn not sure what you mean, Alski. Points don't have pairs..
19:48 admsyn when you're drawing in point mode that is
19:51 Alski Ah, well I guess I mean, I have the paired vertices (in line mode), and implemented some code to draw a series of points between point a and point b. What I want is for those points to follow along the pairings that mesh has when it's in line mode. Maybe I'm going about that in the wrong way.
19:51 Alski I suppose I can assume that if the index starts at 0, all even numbered indices are paired to the index one higher.
19:54 admsyn ah ok, so are you drawing a line from each vertex to the vertex one index behind it?
19:55 admsyn because that's slightly different logic than GL's line mode, it'll do a line from 1 to 2, then 3 to 4 etc
19:55 admsyn not 1 to 2, 2 to 3 etc
19:56 admsyn er well technically it'll start at 0 but you get the point :)

20:01 Alski Ah right, I was thinking of that a little incorrectly. So I guess I can't do that as a check. While it might not be the most appropriate, do you think it is a viable method of creating pairs?
20:02 admsyn in a way, except that you'll end up with every vertex being connected in a long series of lines
20:02 admsyn basically you're creating line strip mode instead of lines mode
20:03 admsyn if you're in a for loop, you could do i += 2 instead of i++, and do vertex[i] and vertex[i + 1] if you wanted to simulate line mode
