16:17 Beliq Hello folks
16:18 Beliq I am trying to use C in openframeworks... doesn't seem to work. More specifically, I am looking into emotiv SDK
16:18 Beliq any help will be appreciated
16:20 jedahan :( ofHideCursor() is not hiding my cursor on linux, tried in main.cpp and ofApp.cpp::setup()
16:20 * jedahan wonders what kind of window ofAppRunner is choosing - gles/glfw/glut
16:22 jedahan I think I can rule out GLES since I didn't specify it
16:23 jedahan ofMainLoop.cpp makes me think its glfw
16:24 admsyn Beliq: do you mean you're trying to pull in a C SDK and getting weird errors?
16:25 admsyn and what errors are you getting in that case
16:25 admsyn jedahan: it's quite possible it's GLFW
16:25 admsyn there's functions for getting the raw window handle for your system if that helps you do a quick fix
16:26 jedahan ofMainLoop()-> kinda stuff?
16:26 jedahan or safer?
16:26 admsyn not quite
16:26 * admsyn is looking
16:26 admsyn https://github.com/openframeworks/openFrameworks/blob/master/libs/openFrameworks/app/ofAppGLFWWindow.h#L173-L196
16:27 admsyn on the ofAppGLFWWindow
16:27 jedahan ohhh
16:27 jedahan cool I'll check it out
16:27 jedahan I actually think it might be my gtk config
16:27 jedahan my cursor turns from normal pointer to an X
16:27 admsyn ohw eird
16:28 Beliq Hi admsyn, yes. I am not sure if the problem is the library or my implementation. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dlesmigj5bdyqel/Screenshot%202015-03-23%2017.25.53.png?dl=0
16:29 admsyn it looks like there's a mixup about which architecture you're building
16:30 admsyn it says it's ignoring openFrameworksDebug.a because it's not i386 so you're already in weird territory
16:30 admsyn do you know if the SDK is "universal"? i.e. 32 and 64 bit
16:30 admsyn it may be that you need to make sure you're building in 32 bit and have xcode do a clean + build
16:31 admsyn it does look like you may be having problems that have nothing to do with SDK though

16:46 Beliq admsyn As far as I know it is working with working with both and I know that it is tested with 64bit. I did try with Universal build, as well as 32... However with no success: 64bit only gives me similar errors, but undefined for 64.
16:48 admsyn right, what I'm saying is to make sure that you're building the project in 32bit (unless you've gone through the process of getting an OF 64bit build and know what you're doing)
16:48 admsyn because the "ignoring openFrameworksDebug.a because it's not i386" implies that it was build in 64 bit but you're trying to make a 32 bit app
16:48 admsyn if you've got the build settings right you might need to do a clean for Xcode to realize it needs to build openFrameworksDebug.a again
16:57 jedahan hmm interesting - switching to glut fixed it
16:57 jedahan as from http://forum.openframeworks.cc/t/ofhidecursor-not-working/16470
16:57 jedahan should I file a bug report for now?
16:58 admsyn have you tried using apothecary to update glfw?
16:59 admsyn normally I'd say yeah but there's a similar bugfix that's happened on OSX recently that can be "backported" by just updating glfw
16:59 admsyn at the least I'd make sure to search the github issues because I feel like that's come up
17:01 jedahan yeah i saw that, thought it was osx only
17:01 jedahan i'll try updating glfw though
17:01 admsyn fwiw on OSX it was as easy as ./apothecary update glfw
17:09 jedahan yeah that's what imma try after I figure out why i get core dumps for trying to update a mesh's vertices with setvertex...

17:28 jedahan lol glfw has a build issue on linux TT
17:28 admsyn sad trombone
17:28 admsyn glfw in general or the apothecary build?
17:28 jedahan oh wait, no it doesn't. just arturo's fork
17:28 jedahan apothecary build
17:28 jedahan i fixed it manually
17:29 jedahan and was about to submit a patch upstream
17:29 jedahan then realized we ain't using upstream glfw
17:29 admsyn yeah not sure what the deal with that is at the moment, I think the intention is to switch
17:30 admsyn IIRC it's a drag+drop hack

17:38 jedahan so trying ./apothecary -g update glfw to see if that works
17:38 jedahan would be nice to stick with upstream or at least submit our patches upstream
17:41 admsyn indeed
17:42 admsyn I think they may already have been, and it's just OF that needs to switch from the hacked API version to the now-upstream API version
17:42 admsyn or something
17:42 admsyn I haven't been paying too close attention but there's a few patches in GLFW from arturo at least iirc
17:42 jedahan ahh cool
17:42 jedahan so I might even be able to help there
17:43 admsyn yeah that'd be a super helpful I'm sure, resources are spread pretty thin for all the stuff

17:58 jedahan ahh ok so it seems its to support unicode code points during key presses
17:58 jedahan where it looks like glfw only supports unicode code points during text input
