11:40 HarryHaaren hey all, question about re-starting an ofApp from the start once its finished: snippet of how I hoped to solve, http://pastebin.com/zz1Ey9qP
11:41 HarryHaaren ofExit() terminates the program - not just returning it. How can I achieve "restarting" the app by deleting the existing instance, and then re-creating it to run again?
11:42 HarryHaaren (ideally my ofApp would have a   void reset();  but that's not the case - creating a new instance is ugly, but a way to achieve the goal..)

22:33 vade anyone use OpenCV 3
22:33 vade ?
22:38 admsyn not yet but what's up
22:39 vade Well, getting real general purpose faults trying to use cv::ORB feature 2D
22:40 admsyn huh
22:40 admsyn fwiw I remember that being pretty trivial in 2.9, if that's even an option for you
22:41 admsyn can you run something simpler on the cv::Mat without issue, like just a median blur?
22:42 HarryHaaren joined #openframeworks
22:42 vade holy fuck
22:42 vade it was the pointer cast
22:42 vade I FUCKING HATE C++
22:42 vade cv::ORB* detector failed
22:42 vade cv::Ptr<cv::ORB> worked
22:42 admsyn I am sorry for your loss
22:43 wjf joined #openframeworks
22:43 vade why is that semnatically different?
22:44 vade some sort of smart pointer?
22:45 admsyn as in, you're passing this in by *myPtr?
22:49 admsyn but yeah I'd guess if the API actually wants a cv::Ptr it's incrementing the reference count when you're passing in the smart pointer
22:49 admsyn and it doesn't exist in a regular pointer, so pop
22:50 pizthewi_ Sounds like OpenCV made their own smart pointer type
22:51 pizthewi_ Guess that means C++11 isn't a minimum for them for 3.0 then  huh
23:39 vade well, the thing thats stupid is that cv::ORB * is a pointer
23:39 vade but it isnt type cast / warned that its incorrect
