00:10 josdotso Hi.  I'm trying to force Rally to run my tempest tests without verifying with openstack.  I've disabled several checks, but now I'm at a point where I'm getting a 'verifier' key error.  Under normal circumstances for a Tempest test, what UUID should go in context["verifier"]? Re: https://github.com/openstack/rally/blob/b1dd1b57e17d9b5b73e8a71bf09e44cf54befe03/tests/unit/plugins/openstack/scenarios/tempest/test_tempest.py#L31

00:59 boris-42 madhu_ak: yeeep
01:00 madhu_ak boris-42: could you review this one: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/279331/
01:00 madhu_ak boris-42 I followed from the rally docs and not sure that is the correct way in doing that
01:01 moravec joined #openstack-rally
01:01 boris-42 madhu_ak: let me take a look
01:02 boris-42 madhu_ak: so I believe it won't be enough
01:02 boris-42 madhu_ak: you'll have to setup complete job
01:03 madhu_ak do you meant, I create a separate job in neutron-vpnaas.yaml file?
01:03 boris-42 madhu_ak: take a look at this https://review.openstack.org/#/c/268859/
01:04 madhu_ak boris-42,  thanks for the pointer
01:05 madhu_ak is there anything else I need to do apart from implementing proj config patch?
01:06 boris-42 madhu_ak: so after that you'll need to add yaml file to your project
01:08 madhu_ak you meant this one: https://github.com/openstack/neutron-vpnaas/tree/master/rally-jobs/rally-configs?
01:08 madhu_ak boris-42
01:11 boris-42 madhu_ak: I don't believe that that will work
01:11 boris-42 madhu_ak: you have to put files in rally-jobs/ not in rally-configs
01:11 madhu_ak like?
01:11 madhu_ak oh okay
01:11 madhu_ak got you
01:11 boris-42 madhu_ak: like this https://github.com/openstack/neutron/tree/master/rally-jobs
01:12 boris-42 madhu_ak: and name should be like vpnaas-vpnaas.yaml
01:12 boris-42 if you keep the same name of job and fix it's configuration
01:13 madhu_ak how about the files here: https://github.com/openstack/neutron-vpnaas/tree/master/rally-jobs/plugins ?
01:13 boris-42 madhu_ak: so these are rally plugins
01:13 boris-42 madhu_ak: so you can write rally plugins in your source tree and use them in gates
01:13 boris-42 madhu_ak: that should work automatically
01:14 boris-42 madhu_ak: and extra/* are files that will be copied to Jenkins and avaialbe to use with rally
01:14 madhu_ak oh okay. makes sense. So two things: 1. Chnage the project-config patch, 2. move the yaml file into rally-jobs/vpnaas-vpnaas.yaml
01:14 madhu_ak ?
01:14 boris-42 madhu_ak: yeep
01:15 madhu_ak awesome, will do the requirement changes. Thanks boris-42
01:16 boris-42 madhu_ak: you are welcome

01:32 josdotso_ boris-42: got tempest running without openstack, but quick question... I'm getting n/a in most of the Response Time (sec) brackets.. Does Rally ever plot response time for tempest jobs, particularly in its normal mode of operation?
01:32 madhu_ak boris-42, export RALLY_SCENARIO=networking-midonet. Is that means, the name of the yaml file thaat is referred in: https://github.com/openstack/networking-midonet/tree/master/rally-jobs ?

14:25 ali_ Hi, I am trying to install rally for openstack benchmarking, I have installed and validated the rally deployment, Now i am trying run a sample test of boot-and-delete.json, but it runs and throws the following error
14:26 ali_ Task config is invalid: `Input task is invalid!  Subtask NovaServers.boot_and_delete_server[0] has wrong configuration\Subtask configuration: {'runner': {'type': 'constant', 'concurrency': 2, 'times': 10}, 'args': {'force_delete': False, 'flavor': {'name': 'm1.tiny'}, 'image': {'name': '^cirros.*uec$'}}, 'context': {'users': {'users_per_tenant': 2, 'tenants': 3}}}  Reason:  Invalid scenario argument: 'The request you have made
14:26 stpierre ali_: that got truncated. use a pastebin instead
14:26 ali_ ok sure wait a sec
14:27 ali_ here you go: http://paste.openstack.org/show/486817/
14:28 stpierre does 'rally deployment check' return anything interesting?
14:28 stpierre does the user you specified in your deployment file have the 'admin' role?
14:28 stpierre also, try 'rally -vd task start ...'
14:28 stpierre lots of things to try :)
14:29 ali_ it returns the services of openstack and thier status, and that is OK. wait let me also paste that
14:29 ali_ here: http://paste.openstack.org/show/486818/
14:30 alraddarla joined #openstack-rally
14:31 ali_ by deployment file, you mean the file in ~/.rally/openrc
14:31 stpierre no, i mean the file you fed rally when you ran 'rally deployment create --file ...'
14:31 stpierre although i guess that info will be in ~/.rally/openrc too
14:33 ali_ i used this one for rally deployment: deployment create --fromenv --name=existing
14:33 ali_ correction: deployment create --fromenv --name=existing --> rally deployment create --fromenv --name=existing
14:34 ikhudoshyn stpierre: hi, as for your patches that improve install_rally.sh -- they both look good except for a tiny nit. Pls take a look. I actually do some refactoring with install_rally.sh as well so would love if yours get merged sooner and we won't stand in each others way
14:35 stpierre ali_: ok, so the user in your environment when you ran that -- are they an admin?
14:35 stpierre ikhudoshyn: i respectfully (and vehemently) disagree :)
14:35 stpierre about line length, that is
14:35 ikhudoshyn y? ))
14:36 ikhudoshyn i got 2 reasons: 1) we don't need to follow PEP8 here 2) if we do, PEP8 forbids such line continuations as well
14:37 ali_ @stpierre : yep is sourced the file with admin user
14:37 stpierre because i run 80 column terminals, and line wrapping makes things legitimately more difficult to read. there are cases in bash when you can't stick to 80 characters (at least, not without stupidity) but when it's possible i definitely prefer lines wrapped sanely by a human than wrapped at the edge of the terminal
14:37 stpierre ali_: then rally -vd should help you figure out what it's barfing on
14:37 ali_ ok sure, thanks, let me look
14:37 ikhudoshyn stpierre: hm.. that makes sense.. ok)
14:37 stpierre ikhudoshyn: 1) no, but we should make a best effort to cleave to reasonable style standards, and pep8 can inform those; b) python has two forms of continuation, while bash has only one :)
14:38 stpierre also, what's up with the gate?
14:39 ikhudoshyn what about gate?
14:40 ikhudoshyn keystone api version?
14:40 stpierre no, it looks like checks just aren't running. https://review.openstack.org/#/c/278837/ has been waiting for a super long time, for instance
14:41 stpierre and that's just an example; i see the same for all the reviews i've looked at
14:44 ikhudoshyn crap
14:44 ikhudoshyn i guess I know the reason((
