10:16 mtholder jimallman: do you know of a study in a phylesystem ( 0 or 1) that has markdown comments that are rendered using the phylesystem render_markdown?

14:05 mtholder towodo , jimallman : I just got a version of peyotl posted onto PyPI (the standard python package management site). If you get a chance could you run:
14:05 mtholder virtualenv testpey
14:05 mtholder source testpey/bin/activate
14:06 mtholder (then make sure that you get and error from python if you import peyotl)
14:06 mtholder then "pip install peyotl"
14:06 mtholder after that the virtualenv should be able to import peyotl.
14:07 mtholder I tested the distro on my ubuntu and CentOS, but it is always tough to predict what other users will see when they try to install (python install tools have been in flux for way too long...)
14:07 towodo seems to work
14:08 towodo sort of anticlimactic, I expected trumpets
14:08 mtholder I'll work on the trumpets.   Thanks.
14:08 towodo did it on os x 10.9.5
14:10 mtholder this will also mean that we can start listing peyotl in the requirements.txt of other python tools (currently the README's of things like phylesystem-api have to tell people to clone peyotl and install it that way).
14:10 towodo python 2.7.5
14:10 towodo what about latency of seeing changes to peyotl?
14:10 mtholder it is best for the deploy procedure to stick with the git repo, of course.
14:11 towodo right.
14:11 mtholder yes there is the latency issue.
14:11 mtholder it is pretty easy to tag and release to PyPI now, but certainly won't be as frequent as the bleeding edge commits.
14:24 jimallman mtholder: cool! i’ll give this a try after the all-hands call
14:26 jimallman mtholder: regarding your markdown question, i don’t know of any studies using it offhand. if you want to test the method, just start adding a comment in markdown and click the preview tab (renders via AJAX)
14:27 mtholder I think I found one study with Markdown. thanks!
