09:01 woolfy_ sorear: too bad you lost it...   I lent out three of those devices, and got none back.  Liz told you it's ok for you to hang on to it (it's a gift!).  But we only have 3 left now, so one more PRS and we're out of them...  :-)
09:02 woolfy_ And we have nowhere seen a place where we could buy them, just the US->NL(EU)-convertors.  So if you find a place and they are cheap, could you buy 5 more for me?  I will reimburse you, no problem.
09:02 sorear woolfy_: I could buy ten of them and give them to you next time I'm near nl :D
09:02 woolfy_ sorear++
09:02 woolfy_ Thanks, that would be nice
09:03 woolfy_ It is also nice to hear you say "next time I'm near nl".  That indicates that you might come over to EU/NL in te foreseeable future!  Which is JAY  whoooo  \o/
09:18 * leont has a mental image of an enthusiastic woolfy_ bouncing around now :-)
09:19 sorear btw, what is being done with the photos from the prs?
09:20 sorear (mostly asking woolfy_ / Liz since it seems they took most of them)
09:20 woolfy_ leont: no, sorry...  bit depressed here...  Liz and I are in Stavanger now.  Well, Stavanger...  Preikestolen Mountain Lodge...   Everybody else is on their way to the Preikestolen cliff, but Liz has feet&knee problems so we stay behind. With augie and rafl (augie has sprained her ankle).
09:21 leont :-(
09:21 leont Well, I'm not there at all, so you're still doing better than me
09:21 woolfy_ And I dropped the camera yesterday and now the lens filter is shattered and we cannot get it off and the other lense is a macro lense so excellent at taking detailed pictures of little flowers, but not of 600m high cliffs and mountain ranges...
09:22 leont Ouch!
09:24 woolfy_ Indeed...  the view here is amazing. Overlooking a gorgeous lake, mountains all around, lovely nature.  The place itself is a bit spartan though...   bunk beds, shared toilets/showers, simple furniture...  Enjoyable though.
09:27 * sawyer is jealous

11:10 woolfy_ sorear: photos from the prs: we should all post them on flickr (or wherever)(or not post them if you don't want to post pictures) and tag them with "perl prs 2012"
11:11 woolfy_ hmmm, many thousands of "perl prs 2012" results in google...
11:11 woolfy_ any other suggestions?  "perl reunification summit 2012" seems a bit much to ask
11:11 woolfy_ by the way, doing this google search I found this: http://nxadm.wordpress.com/2012/08/24/yapceu-2012/
11:11 woolfy_ a blog by claudio (Belgium) mention the summit in Perl and liking it

19:50 woolfy_ marcus: Yes and no...   Liz is having problems with her feet and knee, so not much walking.  What we've seen sofar is beautiful.  There is some bits of perl6 ideas/talking going on, as far as i understand (pmichaud, jonathan, rafl and others arehere too
20:00 theorbtwo Sorry to hear about the ambulatory issues, happy to hear about the ideas.

20:30 Liz Patrick is going to give an introduction into NQP tomorrow
20:30 sorear awesome
20:30 Liz I will be attending that
20:31 sorear pmichaud++
20:31 Liz I also committed myself to start documenting NQP, so that more people will be able to use it
20:32 Liz I hope I will be able to make sense and be able to transfer that sense to the reader
20:42 theorbtwo So, er, what is NQP?
20:42 theorbtwo Not Quite Perl [6]?
20:48 pmichaud NQP is the base system used to build Rakudo Perl 6
20:48 pmichaud yes, it stands for "Not Quite Perl".  It's basically a compiler toolkit built using Perl 6 syntax and concepts
20:54 sri could NQP easily target the JVM or CLR?
20:55 * sri also wonders how much of rakudo is parrot specific
20:58 leont Less and less of it is
20:59 leont Target is to make it quite loose from parrot
21:02 sri that's a good target
21:03 sri judging by the progress of Niecza there seems to be quite a bit of CLR knowhow already
21:03 sri sorear++
21:06 leont Once NQP is self-hosting, porting to another implementation is just a matter of implementing a runtime and being able to process a dump of NQP elsewhere
21:06 leont Or at least that's my understanding of it, the real perl6 people seem to be enjoying Norway or some such
21:22 marcus studying the design of the fjords.
21:23 sorear sri: there are explicit plans to make NQP target the JVM
21:23 sri neat
21:26 sri marcus: maybe they are being chased by a moose?
21:27 marcus sri: is that similar to chasing the dragon?
21:27 sri IN NORWAY MOOSE HACKS YOU?
21:28 marcus http://gfx.dagbladet.no/pub/artikkel/4/49/494/494243/elg_372_1173356690.jpg
21:29 marcus moose - not your average roadkill
21:30 Liz http://www.amazon.com/Moose-Cookbook-Over-Ways-Cook/dp/1896182577
21:31 Liz one a more serious note: http://blogs.perl.org/users/liz/2012/08/as-some-of-you-may.html
21:31 marcus Moose and Sausage gumbo
21:35 marcus hmm, wonder if I should give running a simple mojolicious::lite app under Perlito another shot.
21:37 sorear is that because of perlito p5 interop?
21:37 marcus yeah
21:38 marcus I figured it could be a bit like coffeescript for perl5 ;-)
21:57 sri that would indeed be pretty cool, but i think Perlito lacks focus
22:00 rurban_mobile joined #p6p5
22:06 * Liz wonders why sri thinks that
22:08 sri perl6, perl5, python, ruby, javascript, common lisp, go :)
22:09 sorear sri, fglock was at yapc::eu, did you get to talk to him?
22:09 sri nope
22:10 sorear I did see you there, yes?
22:11 sri afraid not
22:11 sorear too many Sebasti[ae]ns
22:47 sorear search flickr for perl prsummit2012.  "Would you like to try a search for oscon, portland, macro, graffiti or php instead?"
22:51 sri .oO(php and perl reunification summit)
22:59 Juerd I'm all for PHP being more like Perl
23:04 sorear o/ Juerd
