16:09 mohawk is there a smoke-test network we could run perl6+Inline::Perl5 against CP5AN?
16:12 mohawk nine_, do you reckon I::P5 is ready for that?
16:20 nine_ That would require test scripts written to specifically use Inline::Perl5.
16:20 nine_ Sounds like a lot of work.
16:25 leont Actually, I can think of a way
16:25 leont It involves rigging TAP::Harness to run a perl6y thingie instead of plain perl
16:29 mohawk i suppose the ideal would be if TAP::Harness were ported
16:29 leont I already ported it mostly ;-)
16:29 mohawk w00t
16:29 mohawk leont++
16:30 mohawk what's left to make it finished and ready to rock?
16:30 leont Parallelization isn't fully implemented yet, because moarvm bugs
16:30 mohawk git repo?
16:30 leont (actually, it's only the parallel outputting that isn't)
16:30 leont https://github.com/Leont/tap-harness6
16:31 mohawk nice
16:32 mohawk leont, may i suggest you create some issues to let others know how they can get stuck in?
16:32 leont And various other small things need to be ported, but the parallel is the only thing I'd consider a major show-blocker
16:32 leont Most of them are already mentioned in the README
16:32 mohawk i saw that
16:32 leont But it's a good point, I'll do that
16:32 mohawk nice work
16:33 mohawk seems like the best way to "afford" people getting involved

19:27 nine_ Just running existing Perl 5 code via Inline::Perl5 doesn't gain us much testing. Running P5 from any other language is the easy part. What needs thorough testing is the interface between languages. Using P5 objects in P6 code and vice versa, throwing and catching exceptions, etc.
19:29 nine_ Real EPIC mass scale testing would be if we could automatically translate P5 test files to P6 and use that to test P5 modules via Inline::Perl5. Or run test files using v5 and load modules via Inline::Perl5. I'd say both ways are possible but both are hard.
