00:12 kthakore cpan .
00:12 kthakore do that
00:12 kthakore to get deps
00:12 kthakore Getty++
00:12 Getty i dont trust you, i dont install it ;) did Build test
00:12 kthakore kk
00:12 Getty i cant install Test::Trap
00:13 Getty tests fail must force it
00:13 Getty it let the perl.exe crash
00:13 kthakore aww ...
00:13 kthakore Test::Trap--
00:13 kthakore I will get rid of it next iteration
00:14 Getty now running your tests

00:17 kthakore ah ok then
00:17 kthakore ...?
00:17 Getty i did exactly what you said :)
00:17 kthakore maybe I should put delays in the tests to prevent too fast read write on older GPU's
00:17 kthakore Getty: what GPU do you have?
00:18 Getty a very good one
00:18 Getty i can play Battlefield 2
00:18 kthakore ahh ...

00:18 Getty hehe
00:18 Getty np
00:18 kthakore I get teh same problem too
00:18 kthakore as my CPU is faster then my GPU
00:19 Getty i have that situation, too, if i wouldbe able to compare
00:19 Getty cause its a notebook so the GPU is still much underpowered against the CPU
00:19 kthakore so if I am reading and writing to ATI GPU mem staright I get random fails
00:19 kthakore Getty: yeah ... ATI's driver should handle that
00:19 kthakore like WTF

08:15 Sewi Hi code4pay
08:15 code4pay Hello
08:16 Sewi Your Find-All work was great, tried it yesterday. Just a hint... please accept a ticket if you're working on it. Otherwise someone else might start it, too.
08:16 code4pay oh ok
08:30 code4pay anyone working on 390 ?  the middle mouse paste bug in X11 ?
08:30 code4pay http://padre.perlide.org/trac/ticket/390
08:32 code4pay I think I may have a solution
08:40 Sewi Go ahead
08:40 Sewi You could reference tickets like #390 and Hyppolit will give the link...

08:43 code4pay one question is if ($^O eq "MSWin32")  still a valid way to detect Windows with 64 bit windows?
08:50 Sewi yes and no. I had the same question some time ago :-) Yes, Win64 also has MSWin32 (32 should be "not16"), but no, Padre::Util has a common OS detection which should be used.
08:50 code4pay ok great
08:51 Sewi Stop, sorry, it moved to Padre::Constant
08:51 code4pay :-) was wondering where it was
08:51 Sewi Padre::Constant::WIN32 || Padre::Constant::UNIX || Padre::Constant::MAC

09:39 submersible Sewi: what is going on w/ padre.perlide.org ?
09:40 Sewi submersible: Any problems?
09:41 submersible tests seem more broken than yesterday .. why did 'instructions' go in out in out
09:45 Sewi submersible: "howto" was renamed to "instructions" yesterday, but szabgab, daxim and I discussed this yesterday and (mostly) agreed that howto is a better naming and it's no good idea to rename long-living, well-linked pages. This is why it was reverted.
09:45 submersible i see.
09:46 submersible I think we can make a 'carbon-offset' with the static files... depending on how this is being run to populate the real documentroot
09:47 Sewi Usually I don't touch the website (only small things like updating the blog list). I did the revert because noone else did it...
09:47 submersible the wordlist in t/02_spelling is exciting

16:47 user_2766 Good morning, all. I wish to submit a bug report for Padre 0.50, but the Trac registration page says to come here first.
16:49 kthakore joined #padre
16:54 shadowpaste "kthakore" at 199.198.223.108 pasted "Padre 0.50 fails on winXP 64bit" (88 lines) at http://scsys.co.uk:8001/36021
16:55 kthakore Sewi: szabgab: http://scsys.co.uk:8001/36021
16:55 kthakore should I force install?
16:57 kthakore trac?
16:57 Hyppolit trac is http://padre.perlide.org/trac and also http://padre.perlide.org/trac/register
16:59 user_2766 Hyppolit: That would be http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/Register
17:03 Hyppolit #744: Padre fails on WinXP 64 (new defect) [ http://padre.perlide.org/trac/ticket/744 ]
17:08 user_2766 Should I take it that the preferred way to report a Padre bug is not to seek to submit to Trac, but to raise a flag here?
17:14 mberends user_2766: coincidentally, you are leading to the same question as I want to ask : is it OK to report a bug in this channel, if I do not feel like registering with Trac?  This channel is logged at http://irclog.perlgeek.de/padre/today, therefore assuming the most dedicated developers read the backlogs, the answer is most likely yes.
17:17 daxim I would not rely on that
17:18 daxim to make sure a bug is not falling under the table and forgotten, ask someone with a commit bit to file it right away in Trac
17:19 mberends daxim: thanks, are you one of those equipped with a commit bit?
17:19 daxim yes
17:19 daxim but I can't give out commit bits, szabgab does that
17:19 mberends :)
17:19 daxim especially that registration page must be enabled by hand
17:20 mberends daxim: would file what I'm about to write then please?
17:20 daxim there were spambots vandalising Trac's wiki pages and the cabal picked that as counter-measure
17:20 mberends * would you
17:20 daxim yes
17:21 mberends thanks, I'm sympathetic about the spambot problem
17:23 mberends The bug I wish to report is in Perl 5 syntax highlighting. In an extended regex (with the /x option), if a comment contains a / the highlighting colour indicates that the regex has ended, whilst it continues on subsequent lines. This is not critical, and may have been already been reported by others.
17:24 mberends s/been already/already/
17:25 daxim can you give a concrete example?
17:26 mberends as a paste, or just a few lines here?
17:26 daxim I don't care
17:27 mberends a few lines will be ok here, it's not a cluttered channel.
17:28 * mberends physically goes to fetch the offending example
17:35 mberends ok, it's a fragment of an example from a Perl 5 course today:
17:35 mberends if ($line =~ m/
17:35 mberends ^       # beginning of line
17:36 mberends (.+)
17:36 mberends \/      # this is for the forward slash /
17:36 mberends (\S*)
17:36 mberends \s*     # drops all spaces
17:36 mberends (.*)
17:37 mberends $       # end of line
17:37 mberends /x) {
17:37 mberends print "$1 : $2\n";
17:37 mberends }
17:37 mberends the problem is the / following the word slash
17:38 mberends remove it and the highlighting is correct
17:43 mberends daxim: does the example make sense to you?
17:43 daxim yes, it's good
17:43 daxim I'll also attach a screenshot
17:44 daxim my colleague chatted with me the last couple of minutes, so I couldn't reply to you
17:44 mberends ok, then I'll leave the rest of the reporting to you, thanks!
17:45 mberends btw, Padre was very nice to use as a teaching tool today :)

20:21 Sewi Hi Pat__, are you registered on trac?
20:21 Pat__ yes ... should I just attach a diff there ?
20:22 Sewi Yes, please, but don't close the ticket (it will be done once the patches are applied and working.
20:22 Pat__ OK that's why I was asking ... should I leave as new ... is there a way to indicate there is a patch for this bug ?
20:23 Sewi And please announce it in the channel after attaching, otherwise noone might try the patch :-)

I only checked out the folder containign the file I wanted and changed it and created a patch with TortoiseSvn ... but in the patch file there was no indication as to where the file comes from (full path) just its name.
