07:57 joerg hello guys
08:00 Apocalypse Hello joerg :)
08:07 joerg i'll use padre for php-conding, somebody got experience?
08:07 Sno|Laptop you'll switch to perl in around 1000 instantiated objects :)
08:10 Apocalypse joerg: Hah, doubt anybody else tried to code PHP in Padre yet - you're welcome to try and let us know how the experience could be improved ( but don't expect much because... we're perl folks heh )
08:10 Hyppolit svn: r10976 | azawawi++ | http://padre.perlide.org/trac/changeset/10976
08:10 Hyppolit Clear also the status line in context search
08:10 Hyppolit trunk/Padre/lib/Padre/Wx/Dialog/
08:11 joerg no, it's easier to get php-webspace... :) and c# & php it is for me enough ...need no perl yet...
08:11 joerg i using scite & scantilla to code PHP but, somebody said that padre work good :)
08:11 joerg so i'll test it :)
08:12 Apocalypse Have fun coding PHP! :)
08:14 joerg maybe i should try to reduce some prejudices of php :)
08:14 Apocalypse hehehe
08:15 Sno|Laptop many guys have php coding experience and know the limitations very well ;)
08:15 Sno|Laptop any idea why it's easier to get php webspace?
08:17 joerg hm, but i need help -  first step load padre for win, but now? how i can implement php in padre?
08:19 joerg Sno|Laptop you don't need to know how programming works, you can use php everytime :)... more guys use php more php webspace
08:19 Apocalypse joerg: I don't think there's a "Open New PHP File" thing in Padre ;)
08:19 Apocalypse joerg: Just open a new file and go code away :)
08:20 joerg hm, i'll try it when the download finished... f*cking umts
08:20 Sno|Laptop well, you support our "prejudices" instead of reducing them with this argues :)
08:30 joerg php was my first coding-language :) ... i've tried to make the same stuff in perl/cgi but i'm faster in php :)
08:31 joerg it's make no fun to do copy+paste from cpan :)
08:32 joerg so, i stay by php
08:34 Sno|Laptop programming is crafting - you'll get better the more you train - regardless the language you use
08:35 joerg programming is not the problem ....rather the perl syntax and style
08:54 joerg how i can add the padre-php-plugin from cpan to padre?
08:54 Apocalypse joerg: Wow, I didn't know such a plugin existed - just install it using the CPAN Client - are you using Strawberry Perl?
08:58 joerg yeah Stawberry Perl
08:59 joerg Warning: Cannot get http://search.cpan.org/~sewi/Padre-Plugin-PHP-0.02/lib/Padre /Plugin/PHP.pm, don't know what it is.
08:59 joerg hrhrhr
09:01 joerg okay i think i've got Padre::Plugin::PHP with cpan-client... how can i activate this?
09:04 Apocalypse What you should do is click on start menu, programs, strawberry, then CPAN Client
09:05 Apocalypse When you're in the CPAN client just type "install Padre::Plugin::PHP"
09:05 joerg ah ok i was typing "get Padre..."
09:06 Apocalypse :)
09:07 danlucraft joined #padre
09:09 joerg hmm padre makes some crap after "save as"
09:09 Apocalypse Argh - what kind of error popped up?
09:10 joerg no error... i make a screen wait
09:10 Apocalypse Thanks!
09:13 joerg take a look at this: http://bug-tracker.de/padre.JPG ... when i do a double click on the line, the text is comming back...
09:13 Apocalypse It becomes black when you doubleclick it?
09:13 joerg no
09:14 joerg yellow or grey
09:14 joerg yellow on line activate grey on marked
09:15 Apocalypse Hm, I never used Padre::Plugin::PHP before - maybe you didn't configure something yet?
09:15 Apocalypse Try hunting around in the menu/settings to see if there's anything you can change
09:16 joerg Plugins -> Pluginmanager -> PHP -> the option button is disabled
09:17 Apocalypse Restarted padre after installing the plugin?
09:17 joerg sure
09:17 joerg try out padre: fail :(
09:19 Apocalypse Ah darn it - let me try instaling the plugin and toying around with it
09:20 joerg padre looks powerful, but also strange
09:20 Apocalypse Wait, did you enable the PHP plugin?
09:20 joerg jo
09:20 joerg v 0.03
09:21 Apocalypse Ah I get the weirdness too
09:22 Apocalypse I basically typed "<?php\n echo "foo";\n exit;\n ?>"
09:22 Apocalypse And I got squiggly lines on all lines :(
09:23 joerg the same shit :)?
09:23 Apocalypse Yep ( I'm on linux here tho )
09:23 Apocalypse I assume there's still bugs with the plugin or something
09:24 joerg hm maybe i should learn perl-syntax :)
09:24 Apocalypse You could always ask the author of Padre::Plugin::PHP for help or hang out here and wait for somebody who is an active user of that plugin to help
09:25 joerg hm... i think i'll wait for next versions
09:25 Apocalypse No probleimo! Thanks for giving Padre a whirl :)
09:27 joerg the php-plugin can't show functions and so on :) ... i'll wait for this :) now i try to make cgi page :)
09:27 joerg to complete my padre test :-P
09:27 Apocalypse Good luck! I'm headed to bed now :)

14:50 daxim jq, can I interest you in a translation task?
14:52 jq daxim: depends. :-)
14:52 daxim http://github.com/daxim/bobby-tables
14:52 daxim only 100 phrases
14:57 jq humm, are you sure you want to translate:
14:58 jq <code>\n
14:58 jq $dbConnection = NewADOConnection($connectionString);\n
14:58 jq $sqlResult = $dbConnection->Execute(\n 'SELECT user_id,first_name,last_name FROM users WHERE username=? AND password=?',\n array($_REQUEST['username'], sha1($_REQUEST['password'])\n
14:58 jq );\n
14:58 jq </code>
14:58 jq and lots of others code snippets?
14:58 daxim nope, most of the code snippets can be copied unchanged
14:58 jq then what's the interest of having them as strings?
14:58 daxim I opted to translate elucidating comments in the code snippets
14:59 daxim the catalog is created automatically

15:40 Ilie hi, I started a translation for Padre(the perl ide) and can't understand what is 'Start/Stop sub trace', can you please clarify this for me?
15:40 Ilie I'm also new to perl, if it's in the docs I can rtfm without a problem
15:49 daxim I'll have a look where this string appears
15:51 Ilie I searched google and It's related to debugging if i'm not wrong
15:52 daxim clearly, it's in Padre/lib/Padre/Plugin/Devel.pm
15:52 daxim I noticed I don't have the newest version, I have to update first so I can find this item in the GUI
15:52 daxim that takes a while
15:59 daxim alright
16:00 daxim I used the feature and I describe in other words what it does
16:00 daxim when enabled, the subroutine names are printed each time the interpreter enters or leaves one
16:00 daxim this general concept is called tracing

21:16 LeK I'm trying google translation toolkit right now, it seems to be a handy tool for helping padre website translations...  don't you think it could be interesting for padre translation work? (at least web pages) (bis from earlier)
21:16 burak I'm currently not employed but having some job interviews
21:17 szabgabx rindolf, they seem to be ok, or at least the same on all pages
21:18 szabgabx our visitor was from Turktelecom
21:18 szabgabx and I was suggesting she might try to help use find the perl users in her company
21:18 szabgabx could you help in this?
21:18 mohsen joined #padre
21:20 burak Well. The situation in Turkey is not so good for Perl unfortunately. Most of the startups and interactive marketing agencies prefer PHP for web  apps. And the "good" jobs are all about .NET & Java. The only Perl jobs available are system administration stuff and and that's not really Perl programming. I only knew few company's that use perl.
21:21 burak And I gave up forming a PM in here long ago
21:21 burak Even my previous co-workers were not interested in such a thing
21:21 Sewi burak: Just send them to us, we got quite a lot PHP people there on CeBit.
21:22 szabgabx I know, the situation is not to bright in many other places either
21:22 burak yep. and Turk Telekom mainly uses .NET
21:22 Sewi It usually  takes less than two minutes to make them belive that they missed something if they won't at least try out Perl :-)
21:22 szabgabx anyway I'll try to be in touch with her and see if we can make some progress
21:22 szabgabx but I'll need some help from you as well
21:23 szabgabx I hope you'll have some energy and time for that too

22:08 bart Is this the place to bring up bugs in Padre? Small ones...
22:08 szabgabx bart, yes
22:09 bart Ah well. Well, bug #1: if I change the language setting to Dutch (Belgian), it shows everything in English, not in Dutch.
22:09 Hyppolit #1: Improve load time (closed defect) [ http://padre.perlide.org/trac/ticket/1#comment:5 ]
22:10 bart I assume no Belgian-Dutch translation exists, but it should fall back to the main Dutch, IMO
22:11 bart I'd say "inherit from Dutch"
22:15 bart Bug 2: if you have a command line in backticks, `like this`, the syntax highlighter puts the text in yellow on a grey background. But if you move the cursor to that line, the background becomes yellow but the text remains yellow, so you can't see it.
22:27 burakx I have a question: template.padre.perlide.org/data -> edited: stash.yml added developers/burak.ini & translators/burak.ini anything else needed for that part?

23:39 Karl someone else notices that the case insensitive option of the find in files does not work ?
23:40 Getty Karl: make a ticket
23:41 Karl ok, but I was following the doc : You might want to ask around on our mailing list  http://mail.perlide.org/mailman/listinfo/padre-dev or on IRC:  #padre on irc.perl.org
23:41 bart One more bug: if you search for $var by regex, you *may not* put a backslash in front of the "$"
23:44 Getty Karl: thats ok, but we now send you to the trac, actually sadly all dudes who can give you account are at the Cebit and right now asleep
23:44 Getty (i am also at the cebit but i cant give you the account)
23:44 Getty can you ask again in 9< hours?
23:45 Karl sorry I don't get it ? give me what account ?
23:48 Getty oh the trac we got is "closed"
23:48 Getty cause many many bots did adding stuff automatically to it
23:48 Getty so you need someone who "opens it up" so that you can register
23:49 Getty those are Sewi and szabgab
23:49 Getty who are both now asleep
23:49 Karl there's already a ticket for it ?
23:49 Getty is there? ok
23:49 Getty then ignore
23:52 Hyppolit #875: Case insensitive checkbox not taken into account in "Find in Files" dialog (new defect) [ http://padre.perlide.org/trac/ticket/875 ]
23:52 Getty the registration is open?
23:53 Getty lol
23:53 Karl I never asked for a trac account ;-)
23:55 Getty so you mean yes?
23:55 Getty could be that sewi forgot to close it
