13:26 Steffen Found a bug: If I have a file opened in Padre and delete it on disk.
13:27 Steffen I'll get a reload message. Fair enough.
13:27 Steffen If I chose NOT to reload the now ex-file, I'll get the same message every few seconds like a nag-dialog.
13:27 ribasushi "you will be reloaded. resistance is futile."
13:28 Getty lol
13:29 szabgab I think there is a ticket with this already

13:59 Sewi I think this is fixed already
14:00 Sewi Steffen, is this a popup yes/no message or a list box showing a list of all open files?
14:00 Steffen list box.
14:00 Sewi Seems it isn't fixed.
14:00 Sewi Sorry
14:00 Steffen This is some random svn revision I'm running, so it could be fixed already for all I know.
14:00 Steffen It's not HEAD, sorry.
14:01 Sewi Is it older than 0.59?
14:01 Steffen It says 0.59.
14:01 Steffen Depends on when people bump the version.
14:01 Steffen Before or after the release? I suppose before.
14:01 Steffen Thus it's somewhat older.
14:02 * Sewi trying
14:02 Sewi I know that it is fixed for changed files.
14:03 Sewi Confirmed, not fixed for deleted :-(
14:04 Steffen Sorry
14:04 Sewi On the first configuration options tab: "Prfintervall fr Dateinderungen": Set this to a higher number to reduce the number of boxes.
14:05 * Sewi is using 30

14:30 szabgab Hey ppl, I am planning a new poll and I need some potential answers:   "What are the 5 most important factors for you in choosing an employer for a Perl job?"
14:33 ribasushi The Cake!

14:51 rindolf szabgab: in no particular order: 1. Location. Location. Location. That or maybe the ability to telecommute.
14:51 szabgab I did not ask your opinion
14:51 szabgab I asked for potential answers
14:54 rindolf 2. That they won't demand that I work too many hours per day (into the night, etc.) , at least as a rule instead of an exception. I don't mind getting paid for a little less for a 40 hours week, but I don't want to do crunch mode.
14:56 szabgab so "reasonable daily workhours"
14:56 rindolf 3. That they either be aware of recent best practices in Perl or software engineering in general (automated tests, POD, preparing CPAN-like dists, PBP, etc. etc.), or at least trust me when I decide to introduce them.
15:09 rindolf szabgab: and "good location" and the "ability to telecommute"
15:14 rindolf "Respect for Perl as a programming language."
15:17 szabgab rindolf, what do you mean by the last one?
15:19 rindolf szabgab: I mean, not think it's only useful for one-off, throwaway, etc. scripts.
15:20 rindolf szabgab: or maybe "Allow to dedicate time to refactor and modernise one's Perl code."
15:22 rindolf I'm off to bike.

16:49 rindolf szabgab: I got two more ideas for answers when I went biking.
16:49 rindolf szabgab: "1. Easily allow to install and use CPAN modules for production."
16:50 rindolf szabgab: "2. Have a not-so-ancient Perl (not 5.6.x or below)"

17:44 LeK rindolf... why not an assistant to create an installer with dependencies for a program? :)
17:44 * LeK has always been frightened by perl packaging and installing tools... never played with them
17:47 rindolf LeK: they're nothing to fear really.
17:47 rindolf LeK: an assistant?
18:31 rindolf LeK: Padre uses Module::Install...
18:45 ribasushi LeK: if you need an assistant to wrap up a cpan dist, I don't really want to work with ya :)
18:50 rindolf ribasushi: :-)
18:50 rindolf ribasushi: though it can be a bit time consuming.
18:50 rindolf Well, not a lot.
18:50 rindolf But I recall that with my black hole solver it took me some time to write the program and then quite a lot of time to CPANise it.
18:52 LeK too late... i was thinking of creating a standalone installer including perl.exe, cpan modules, etc... (but I arrived too late:) )
18:54 dorkfish LeK: pack it up with par
19:01 LeK it seems that my fear is unjustified... I should really  try some day
