19:34 bowtie stkowski, hi
19:37 bowtie stkowski, had you thought about "CitrusPerl?" -> "{{{CitrusPerl}}}" will kill trac trying to back the CamelCase in to a link :)
19:40 irq_ joined #padre
20:00 stkowski Cool. Thanks.
20:00 stkowski Let me fix that
20:01 bowtie stkowski, I thought it was better to inform you than change things are you are in full swing :), nice job keep going
20:02 Hyppolit wiki page http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/DownloadMacOSX changed by bennie
20:02 stkowski Thanks. Trying to make sure I test and confirm as I write up.
20:04 bowtie stkowski, you can do what you link in the sand pit -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/SandBox
20:05 bowtie I used to use it until I put a trac up at home to play with :)
20:05 stkowski Cool
20:05 stkowski So I have a question on how to do things.. procedure wise
20:06 stkowski Is it most common to open a bug, work on the issue, and then apply the changes in SVN in conjunction with closing the bug?
20:06 stkowski I want to match how you guys track tasks, etc
20:08 bowtie that is the most common way, then when you have applied code, done changes, you add the svn revision number to the ticket, before closing
20:08 stkowski ok
20:11 bowtie now one you might not have noticed is you need to run PerlTidy, I do this by using perl dev -a which loads all plugins I have locally from svn, also you will need the tools from svn as well, that way Padre-Plugin-PerlTidy (P-P-PerlTidy or pp-perltidy) will use the Padre perltidyrc
20:15 stkowski Ah ok. You guys use defaulkt settingas on tify?
20:15 stkowski er..tidy
20:15 stkowski man..typo central.
20:16 bowtie stkowski, have a look here -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/browser/trunk/tools
20:17 stkowski Nice.. you have an autotidy :)
20:18 bowtie stkowski, no you need to load pp-perltidy in tools plugin manager then run from tools list :)
20:28 Di-ima joined #padre
20:40 noidea joined #padre
20:41 stkowski There we go
20:43 stkowski And just used it to tidy my current other project. Very nice
20:45 bowtie stkowski, if you use it in released Padre 0.96 it will use your perltidyrc, see PerlTidy POD on CPAN for info
20:45 stkowski bowtie: Is the Linux or the Winows version considered "main"?
20:48 bowtie good question :), alias and azawawi are win32, you and tome n snipper are OSX the rest predominantly linux with szabgab swinging between win32 and linux :)
20:48 stkowski Hehe..so I need to trace code to see if a behavior was intended then
20:49 bowtie yes
20:49 stkowski For example: when I have the syntax checker panel open, and there is no errors, it is constantly looping and rechecking syntax. On Osx this shows as a secondary application opening and closing as fast as it can
20:49 bowtie have you tried 'perl dev -t'
20:50 stkowski Oh hey.. "-t" gives you verbose output?
20:50 stkowski \
20:51 bowtie in tools -> prefs -> adv you can change the polling frequency default 3000
20:54 stkowski Would a completely lack of a polling frequency value in advanced settings explain it opolling constantly :)
20:55 bowtie stkowski, you might find this interesting, reading between the line for debugging techniques #1374
20:55 Hyppolit # 1374 :  when you open a file that is not in a Padre Session or Perl project (accepted defect) by bowtie  [ http://padre.perlide.org/trac/ticket/1374#comment:14 ]
21:01 bowtie szabgab, ping
21:05 stkowski Oh well. Something to check later. With all the various versions of padre unloading and loading it looks like my config.db is now corrupt or something. I have sessions without data offered in the open menu, but cab see the sessions on the save menu
21:06 stkowski Is there a config rebuild or sanity check option? Or do I need to just ditch my .padre directory?\
21:07 bowtie stkowski, padre trunk use a different  config.db to released Padre, go do a find . |grep config.db :)
21:09 bowtie if you want to see inside the config.db and clean it up see -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/Features/Perl5Debugger#DebugBreakpoints you will find it in pp-cookbook in trunk
21:10 bowtie stkowski, so you know have 2 config.db :)
21:12 stkowski Nice. very handy for dev
21:12 stkowski I also now have an app icon that launches the dev version with '-t' running in a terminal window. Yay for silly Mac tricks
21:13 bowtie stkowski, what do you call a collection of Padre icons :)
21:14 stkowski An icon bundle?
21:14 jnap joined #padre
21:14 stkowski I forget the correct term. in the old Sys 9 and earlier days and icon bundled many different res versions. not sure what they use now
21:15 stkowski I did steal the icon resource off the DMG and apply it to my dev script :)
21:18 bowtie stkowski, you can also add to #1247 and I will add to Padre web page -> http://padre.perlide.org/screenshots.html

21:30 bowtie stkowski, are you happy with that being added to web site, showing trunk with a dev trace, would you not prefer to show a Padre feature to salivate new users?
21:31 bowtie stkowski, this is padre on OSX using Citrus, yes
21:31 stkowski Yes
21:32 stkowski And I hope to have another feature to salivate users with in a bit. :)
21:33 bowtie ok, Citrus enables Padre 0.96 or Padre trunk, just like linux?, can I be a pain and ask to see one showing help->about->info as well please
21:34 stkowski Sure… hang on
21:34 stkowski And it/s 0.97.
21:34 bowtie that's ok :)
21:34 stkowski If you'd like I can show it running in mac ports as well
21:35 bowtie I would get excited if i understood what mac ports was :)
21:38 stkowski Another form of installing Perl on an Osx box, similar to Citrus in that respect

21:42 bowtie cool :)
21:42 stkowski This one shows the "run" command running in terminal, and has the about panel open
21:43 stkowski Sorry for the odd aspect ratio. Work has a nice monitor.

21:57 bowtie Q why dos it show wxWidgets 2.9. 2 or 3 can't remember, I thought Citrus was bleading edge here, also why noy 5.14.2?
21:57 bowtie s/noy/not/
22:00 stkowski Must be the version of Citrus I have in place.
22:00 stkowski I believ the two packaged widget versions are 2.8.12 and 2.9.3 right now
22:01 bowtie stkowski, yes, 2.9.3 is supposed to be the dogs bo......
22:04 stkowski Nice
22:04 stkowski Let me see what Mac Ports has
22:05 stkowski 2.9.3 as well
22:05 stkowski bummer
22:06 stkowski is 2.8.12 better than 2.9?
22:06 bowtie no
22:07 bowtie this means that Mac Ports is really cool, in words from Monty Python 'you lucky lucky Bas....'
22:07 stkowski Oh!
22:08 stkowski I should boot Citrus up to 2.9.12 then
22:08 bowtie i think you mean 2.9.3
22:09 stkowski Yes..sorry
22:09 stkowski With 3 different installed perls on my system, each with its own variant options, it gets a bit odd at times
22:09 stkowski Sorry… 4 different perls.
22:10 stkowski I fotgot that VMware packages their own broken version
22:11 bowtie if you can post an image of pp-Moose, azawawi would like to see it displayed using 2.9.3
22:12 stkowski Ok. I'll upgrade Cirtus here once this current task is done.
22:12 stkowski pp-Moose is the Moose plugin?
22:12 bowtie stkowski, if you get PPIx::EditorTools 0.15_02 you can see Moose attribute and Methods in Outline
22:13 bowtie you will find the current copy here -> https://github.com/szabgab/PPIx-EditorTools
22:14 stkowski is that the current one on CPAN?
22:14 bowtie yes Padre::Plugin::Moose = pp-moose as this is new and under development use the svn trunk version
22:14 bowtie no padre svn trunk
22:15 bowtie just take a cpoy of the whole thing :)
22:19 stkowski Sorry for being distracted. Work bugs now and then.
22:19 stkowski I had grabbed http://svn.perlide.org/padre/trunk/Padre-Plugin-Moose/ .. is that current or should I grab from that git link?
22:19 bowtie pp-moose is current, but you need the git as well
22:20 stkowski Gotcha
22:20 bowtie if you wish to see Moose in Outline panel
22:25 stkowski ok… reminded myself of git and got a coppy cloned.
22:26 bowtie ok, now you need todo, 'perl Makefile.PL && make test && make install'
22:27 bowtie stkowski, you could have got a zip :)
22:28 stkowski heh. Should have
22:29 stkowski Building some pre-req stuff now
22:29 bowtie it's always the way :)
22:29 stkowski keeps the compiler busy
22:30 stkowski ok. installed
22:32 stkowski Now what am I looking for?
22:32 bowtie ok, help -> about -> should now show new version numbers,
22:32 bowtie enable outline in views menu
22:33 bowtie you can change location in tools->prefs->scree layout
22:33 bowtie s/scree/screen/
22:33 stkowski Yup..help about shows 0.15_02
22:34 bowtie cool
22:35 bowtie how about the pp-moose
22:36 stkowski Ok… showing outlines… headings anyway. Nothing in the buckets.
22:36 stkowski Let me check the moos plugin
22:41 stkowski haha
22:41 stkowski Maybe I just might need Moose too
22:41 bowtie lol
22:42 bowtie stkowski, did the pp-moose install moose?
22:44 stkowski No. Just the plugin.
22:44 bowtie ok, you will need it to
22:45 stkowski Just finished installing
22:47 stkowski ok. plugin loaded ok
22:48 stkowski nag
22:48 stkowski Moose Assistant dies on an undefined subroutine
22:48 stkowski Error: Undefined subroutine &Wx::Event::EVT_GRID_CELL_CHANGE called at /opt/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.12.4/Padre/Plugin/Moose/FBP/Assistant.pm line 111.
22:51 bowtie good, make some Moose then generate will put in a new editor tab in Padre and Outline should display Moose attribute and methods
22:53 stkowski Outline view: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24028152/padre/outline.png
22:54 stkowski Here's where my ignorance really shows. I've not done any Moose.
22:54 stkowski So..part 1.. "make some moose" ?
22:55 stkowski Here's the moose assistant boom: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24028152/padre/boom.png
22:56 bowtie stkowski, look in Padre::Plugin::Moose::Role::NeedsPluginEvent for sample code
22:58 bowtie stkowski, ok, it's getting late here now, can you create ticket for that error please
22:59 bowtie stkowski, I am GMT +1, so it's time to say night, and thanks
22:59 stkowski Sleep well
