11:19 szabgab would someone be so kind and change the topic?
11:20 szabgab oh apparently noone is admin here any more
11:25 El_Che yeah, a little off-topic it seems
11:25 waxhead op me
11:26 waxhead Hyppolit, op me
11:26 waxhead sigh..
11:26 waxhead what is the command...
11:26 waxhead admin
11:26 waxhead op
11:26 waxhead Hyppolit op
11:26 waxhead :(
11:26 waxhead Hyppolit ?
11:27 szabgab Hyppolit is not an op either
11:27 El_Che he's opless as well
11:27 waxhead seems all op rights have gone then
11:27 szabgab I am trying to see the log if mst did that all
11:27 szabgab does anyon have the logs from the 13th?
11:28 waxhead not me
11:28 szabgab the web log does not seem to have the information
11:30 waxhead good luck sorting it out...
11:30 szabgab I am not sure if I am more disturbed by what mst did ir by the fact that no one here cared to even mentione that me
11:30 szabgab to me
11:31 El_Che what's happened here by the way? are we back to the time of irc wars?
11:33 szabgab actually at one point he even threatened my life on yapc mailing list
11:34 szabgab for sure he is trying to turn the community against me and he is using his powers as the admin on IRC to do that
11:34 szabgab or rather he is abusing his powers
11:36 szabgab does anyone know who else has admin rights on irc.perl.org ?
11:38 El_Che "/who 0 o" does not give output
11:45 szabgab I think the best roue is to switch to freenote.net
11:45 szabgab I created the #padre channel there, please join me there
11:46 El_Che would that escalate everything?
11:47 szabgab escalate?
11:47 El_Che tit-for-tat
11:47 szabgab wha do you mean?
11:48 szabgab I don't ask people from all irc.perl.org to leave, just the #padre channel
11:48 El_Che wouldn't it be easier to try to get ops?
11:48 szabgab and lick his ass?
11:49 szabgab and be dependent on him?
11:49 El_Che is there only one server?
11:49 szabgab as I understand there are several machines running irc.perl.org in round robin but I am not sure why is that relevant?
11:50 El_Che opers are server relevant I thought
11:51 szabgab I don't know but I really don't want to have #padre to depend on what mst thinks of me
11:52 El_Che ok, I am on freenode anyways for opencsw
11:52 El_Che but It will confuse people
11:52 El_Che I'll put both in my config in the meanwhile
11:52 El_Che bbl. working on a paper for thursday

12:18 daxim ah, so you have finally returned
12:19 sugar but why freenode?
12:19 sugar why not this channul
12:19 sugar i dont  understand
12:19 daxim paranoia.
12:22 szabgab why would that be paranoia?

13:32 bowtie szabgab, hello
13:32 szabgab oh I see Hyppolit was cleaver enough and already gave you op
13:33 bowtie it's just a bot, it's stupid like me, hence it, would just do what it normally dose
13:33 sugar_ padre two =_
13:33 sugar_ =)
13:34 PerlJam so really ... is this #padre completelly a reaction to mst or are there other reasons too?
13:34 bowtie sugar_, me two
13:34 szabgab PerlJam: I just don't want to fight with him
13:34 szabgab it is just a waste of energy
13:35 bowtie I do not under stand any of this, or why
13:35 szabgab don't worry, jus follow te rules as any good bot would do :)
13:36 bowtie szabgab, as you are awake to-day, how do I get a snap shot of trac, so that I can see wiki pages locally
13:37 szabgab yeah, if you saw my blog my client went away last week so now I have plenty of time, slowly catching up with my huge back-log of things to do
13:38 szabgab so I'll try to create a dump and make it available to you and also fix trac if I am already there

13:39 bowtie cool

13:40 szabgab bowtie: and sorry for it taking so long
13:41 szabgab (and I am still afraid of the actual work it involves)
13:41 szabgab but maybe if I give the dump to bowtie it will create a huge load on his machine and he will fixx whatever the issue is
13:41 szabgab sound like a good plan :)
13:42 bowtie szabgab, ok
13:43 bowtie I should only have to load a backup catalog, and re-point my existing trac to new catalog, it's just mysql is it not
13:48 szabgab sqlite
13:48 szabgab not mysql
13:48 szabgab at least this one

13:59 domidumont bowtie: at first glance your outline patch is working (svn rev 19111). Tnaks
13:59 domidumont that's was thanks ...
14:00 domidumont BTW, my nick is not dod here. It's already taken :-(
14:02 bowtie domidumont, it's more of a hack, as I think we need to look at PPIx::EditorTools::Outline to not give Padre has => "\n"
14:02 bowtie or 'any thing' => "\n"
14:02 rindolf joined #padre
14:03 rindolf Hi all.
14:03 domidumont ok.
14:04 * domidumont is wondering whether to add this patch to Debian padre package before Debian freeze (June 30th)
14:12 sugar_ joined #padre
14:17 El_Che joined #padre
14:20 bowtie domidumont, yes, if you use latest PPIx-EditorTools and Moose, as the Outline panel will correct it's self now
14:22 domidumont you mean that the outline will be fine if  PPIx-EditorTools and Moose are up-to-date. No patch needed ?
14:24 bowtie you need the hack, to stop the double lining you spotted from happening, it also alows Outline to regenerate correctly

15:12 szabgab trac is backL: http://padre.perlide.org/trac/ , load on my server jumeped to 1.3
15:12 szabgab from 0.04
15:13 rindolf szabgab: great!
15:13 rindolf szabgab++ bowtie++
15:13 szabgab I still hope bowtie can figure out what might causing this load
15:14 szabgab as I don't think I can keep it this way
15:15 bowtie szabgab, cool
15:15 tome wtg
15:16 bowtie I will run the copy locally, and have a poke around, this coming weekend, then update, ok
15:16 szabgab I can see search engines hittin the trac now
15:17 szabgab I guess I should set up robots.txt to disable parts of trac
15:17 szabgab what do you think?
15:18 szabgab eg.    /trac/diff?new_path=/trunk/P ...
15:18 szabgab there4 is no point in getting that indexed, right?
15:19 szabgab and   /trac/changeset/7981/branches/Padre-Index/lib/Padre/Plugin/PopularityContest/Ping.pm
15:19 tome is your goal to reduce load, or to stop indexing of useless things?
15:22 szabgab tome: primarily to reduce load
15:22 szabgab but if some part is useless then that's another reason
15:23 szabgab http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/RobotsTxtPlugin
15:23 szabgab I took the robots.txt from there and applied it, please let me know if you see any problem with that
15:24 tome Probably worthwhile to get to the root of the issue. Trac should be able to serve up content fairly efficiently, so either something is misconfigured or it's thrashing on the machine?
15:26 tome but yeah robots.txt to cut off things from polite search engines helps keep google search clean, so I'm in favor of that for big things (changeset, diff). I'm surprised it's not default set to exclude those.
15:26 szabgab they have aplugin for that but as we don't run trac on root /   it does not matter
15:26 tome not sure I follow
15:27 tome re: root
15:27 tome oh you mean URL root

15:38 szabgab tome: yes, sorry
15:38 szabgab I was not clear
15:40 D-ion joined #padre
15:41 szabgab and yes, it would be nice to find what is the real problem
15:42 tome more generally, have you considered moving to a hosted platform like github?
15:42 szabgab but I have no idea where to start from, it suddenly appeard on my server adn I have not even undersood it in the first few days
15:42 szabgab we had some discussion about this and I would not mind moving padre to github but we have not had any decision at all
15:43 tome yup also github would mean change to git
15:43 szabgab we would lose some control
15:43 tome yup, def a tradeoff
15:44 szabgab so I moved 2 or 3 sub projects to github
15:44 szabgab we'll see how that works out
15:44 szabgab actuallI would be happy to move to github
15:44 szabgab but that's work too :)
15:45 tome yup!
15:45 tome : )
15:45 tome esp if you want to keep all the svn history, there are converters, but there is a Lot of history so it will take time to make sure it's right
15:46 tome i've done svn->git for small projects, and it was really easy
15:49 szabgab tome: that part seems to be easy  svn -> git    he harder part seem to be trac => github and the link between trac and svn
15:49 szabgab and then we rely on a closed source service
15:50 szabgab I am running integrity_check on the sqlite database
15:51 tome how much free mem does the machine have, btw?
15:51 tome is that an isue
15:53 tome szabgab: you are right of course, trac->github+ existing svn 'links' sigh...
15:55 szabgab tome: the probelem happened on the old machine and I see it - though less so on the new machine
15:56 tome does it happen all the time, or only when trac is being accessed
15:56 tome sorry, I'll let bowtie dig in
15:57 tome I get too eager to dig in to problems sometimes : )
15:57 bowtie tome, two shovels are better than one :)
15:57 szabgab ok, load went up to 6
15:57 tome I'm happy to hop on the machine to have a look for a few minutes
15:57 bowtie 6?
15:57 szabgab trac closed again :(
15:58 szabgab let me trt to check again
15:58 tome make sure nothing obvious sets off alarms for me

16:14 mokko Hi. Still trying to install Padre/wx in strawberry. Alias said it should be simple. But I can get it to work. Can anybody help?

16:18 mokko Hi

16:18 tome I've no experience with that sorry : )
16:18 mokko thanks
16:18 tome there are lots of folks here though
16:19 tome i'm sure you will be helped shortly
16:20 mokko No matter what I do with Alien::wxWidgets I get versions of this Creating library file: ..\..\src\stc\..\..\..\lib\gcc_dll\libwxmsw28u_stc.a compilet.exp:fake:(.edata+0x3c): undefined reference to `boot_compilet' compilet.exp:fake:(.edata+0x40): undefined reference to `boot_compilet' ...
16:20 mokko I don't know what it means
16:24 tome szabgab: bowtie: any ideas?
16:25 tome something toolchain related?
16:26 mokko well, I made sure to have only stuff from that perl installation in the path. What else can I do?
16:27 mokko I am on a 64bit Windows7 and I tried with both 32bit and 64 bit strawberry.
16:28 tome Have you perhaps tried the DWIM package?
16:28 mokko yes. DWIM is the only way I can get padre to run.
16:28 tome ah ha, so that does work, but building it yourself doesn't work
16:28 mokko Yes. It should be easier to install.
16:29 mokko thought it might be worth it to look into it.
16:29 tome absolutely
16:32 tome do you want to pastebin your whole build output
16:32 tome that may be the best way to relay the info, assuming the Win* folks don't come back for a few hours
16:32 tome (and I think our trac is currently unstable)
16:44 bowtie tome, sorry I am of no help here, as this is a MSwin issue, tool chain if I remember from Alias recent comments

20:48 szabgab OK guys, it seems some people really want to stay on irc.perl.org. I don't want to stand in their way. I'll quit irc.perl.org for a while now and I won't use #padre on irc.freenode.net either. I have not been around anyway. You can decide where you'd like to be. If you decide to be on irc.perl.org, I can ask moritz to move the logger back and I can move Hyppolit back, if you want. I'll be on the mailing list.
