10:28 anotheranne hi, I am looking to download a cpan module. the list has a red square to each item (and to the one that I filter out). what does that mean?
10:37 bowtie hi
10:38 bowtie anotheranne, hi
10:38 anotheranne ok, I did it the regular way but am still interested in the 'howto' within Padre. I see no way to initiate the install once you have selected the module of choice
10:38 anotheranne hi
10:39 bowtie are you asking how to install cpan modules from within Padre
10:40 anotheranne i see the red square is under the word 'Status'. being red i assume it means I haven't got that module
10:40 anotheranne yes, i amm
10:41 bowtie ok, what version of Padre
10:42 anotheranne 0.90
10:42 anotheranne comes with ubuntu 10.02 LTS
10:43 bowtie O, you are some what behind the curve, see http://padre.perlide.org/screenshots.html top row 3rd from left
10:46 bowtie anotheranne, the CPAN feature was added to Padre 0.94
10:48 anotheranne yes, it doesn't look like that with the cpan explorer on the right. thanks, I'll probably wait until it comes down the wire with an ubuntu upgrade unless I get desperate. thanks for the help. have a great day.
10:48 bowtie anotheranne, there is a debian deb for Padre 0.94
10:49 bowtie and Padre 0.96 as well I think
10:49 anotheranne ok, I try and avoid anything that may remotely give me hassles on this particular machine, so will hangfire a bit.
10:50 anotheranne bye

13:20 nferraz hey guys
13:20 nferraz I was looking at the padre web site, and thought I could try to improve it...
13:21 nferraz so, I made a new design for it...
13:21 nferraz would you like to take a look and give some feedback?
13:21 bowtie nferraz, hi
13:21 El_Che nferraz: sure!
13:21 nferraz just a sec...
13:21 bowtie nferraz, how about a link then :)
13:22 bowtie El_Che, hi
13:22 El_Che hi bowtie
13:23 asarch joined #padre
13:26 nferraz here it is: http://civitatesorbisterrarum.com/padre/
13:26 nferraz just a prototype, not all links are working...
13:28 El_Che I like it
13:28 bowtie is that twitter bootstrap I see
13:28 nferraz haha yes
13:28 bowtie with Padre 0.92 scren shots
13:29 bowtie s/scren/screen/
13:29 El_Che I would change the top menu a little
13:29 nferraz I'm not a designer... the maximum I did was to choose a slightly different butterfly and rotate that a bit
13:29 nferraz ah, ok
13:29 El_Che I don't know what exactly, but it looks a little out of place
13:30 bowtie it's not a butterfly, it's a blue morpho moth
13:30 bowtie would you like a like to our image
13:30 nferraz really?!
13:31 nferraz so... do you like the overall design?
13:33 bowtie try here -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/browser/trunk/template.padre.perlide.org
13:35 bowtie nferraz, as for me I would like to see more, may be you could increase the size of your sampler to include an example from each section,
13:36 nferraz ok!
13:37 nferraz I'll try to improve it, and then I bring back to you
13:37 nferraz btw, should I put it directly on svn?
13:38 nferraz perhaps in a new repo?
13:38 bowtie El_Che, how about banging the drum, to get more views as to how to use this great offer
13:39 El_Che nferraz: I would put it into a different dvn dir until ready
13:39 bowtie nferraz, I think the current location in svn is related to the generation system, you will need to as Gabor about that one
13:39 nferraz ok!
13:39 El_Che and send the link to the mailing list to see what people think
13:40 nferraz good idea!
13:40 nferraz I'll do that
13:41 El_Che maybe I see the problem I had with the header menu
13:41 El_Che looking at google websites and twitter they both have a dark bar (black or dark grey), with light grey fonts
13:42 El_Che they are highlighted when selected
13:42 El_Che (blue in twitter, white in gmail)
13:43 El_Che nferraz: you do the white highlighten, but not on the home when arriving
13:43 nferraz aha
13:43 El_Che Padre should be highlighted by default
13:43 nferraz yes, that's true
13:45 bowtie my concern is with bootstrap, I am thinking about facebook here and there e-mail F..up, it's a bit big brother for me, when there is mojo and dancer around, but the offer to take control gets my vote regardless
13:46 nferraz fixed
13:46 El_Che that's better :)
13:47 nferraz regarding bootstrap... I don't see the problem?
13:48 bowtie nferraz, du you see bootstrap in the same vain as JQuery
13:49 nferraz I use both...
13:49 bowtie ok
13:49 nferraz they work great together - at least for a simple web site
13:51 nferraz the only fancy thing I used was the carousel, to display the screenshots
13:51 nferraz btw, I think I used padre from apt-get or cpan, not sure which one

17:44 Nick Hello. I did a little patch, which should show Dancer routes in Padre's Function List. Can somebody help with it? https://gist.github.com/3490726
18:27 bowtie Nick, hi
18:30 rindolf joined #padre
18:30 rindolf Hi all.
18:32 bowtie rindolf, hi
18:32 rindolf bowtie: what's up?
18:32 bowtie I am glad you asked
18:35 bowtie I am hacking, Padre-Plugin-Nopaste, am I have added some channels for shadowcat, but I need some more for these other nopastes bots
18:35 shadowpaste "bowtie" at 217.168.150.38 pasted "This is a test no-paste" (9 lines) at http://paste.scsys.co.uk/206601
18:36 bowtie rindolf, do you use any of above for a particular channel
18:36 rindolf bowtie: there's App::Nopaste.
18:36 rindolf bowtie: on CPAN.
18:37 bowtie rindolf, thats what it is using, but I am trying to associate channels to servers as well
18:37 shadowpaste "bowtie" at 217.168.150.38 pasted "This is a test no-paste" (24 lines) at http://paste.scsys.co.uk/206602
18:38 rindolf bowtie: channels to servers?
18:38 bowtie so above shows channels that shadow cat services, take a look at the nopastes
18:40 bowtie rindolf, dose it make any sense yet?
18:41 rindolf bowtie: is Padre an IRC client now?
18:41 rindolf bowtie: or do you want to nopaste to a channel?
18:41 bowtie rindolf, no it's not an irc client
18:42 bowtie and yes, the plugun Nopaste will let you no-paste from with padre
18:44 bowtie I am asking you, can you recall any chanels that are serviced by one of the Nopaste bots in in above nopastes
18:44 bowtie I have all ready done chanels serviced by shadowcat, it was given as an example
18:45 bowtie rindolf, so do you know of any channels that are serviced by Nopaste bots
18:46 rindolf bowtie: sometimes channels have nopaste bots.
18:46 rindolf bowtie: sometimes they don't.
18:46 rindolf bowtie: why?
18:46 rindolf bowtie: what are you trying to do?
18:47 bowtie rindolf, so I can assume the answer is no, as you don't know of any
18:47 rindolf bowtie: well, #perl on Freenode has a pastebot or two.
18:48 bowtie are they in nopaste bot list, I nopasted
18:49 rindolf bowtie: the nopaste bot list?
18:49 bowtie http://paste.scsys.co.uk/206601
18:50 bowtie and list of channels serviced by shadowcat http://paste.scsys.co.uk/206602
18:50 rindolf Not all paste services are tied to channels.
18:50 bowtie did you not see the shadowpaste
18:50 rindolf Pardon?
18:50 rindolf bowtie: Pardon?
18:50 bowtie yes, i am only intrested in list provied
18:51 rindolf bowtie: well, the shadowpaste has special support for it.
18:51 bowtie which happends to be App::Nopaste server list
18:52 rindolf bowtie: I don't understand.
18:53 bowtie rindolf, lets start again
18:53 rindolf OK.
18:53 shadowpaste "bowtie" at 217.168.150.38 pasted "This is a test no-paste" (8 lines) at http://paste.scsys.co.uk/206603
18:53 rindolf bowtie: OK.
18:54 shadowpaste "bowtie" at 217.168.150.38 pasted "This is a test no-paste" (10 lines) at http://paste.scsys.co.uk/206604
18:55 rindolf bowtie: OK, it's a list of supported servers.
18:55 rindolf bowtie: what are you interested to know?
18:56 bowtie rindolf, do you know of any channels which are serviced by the above nopaste bots with notification
18:56 rindolf bowtie: only those for shadowpaste.
18:57 bowtie rindolf, that's my problem, snap :)

19:58 Nick Dancer routes in function list - solved. https://gist.github.com/3490726/
20:08 bowtie Nick, hi
20:20 bowtie Nick, see -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/browser/trunk/Padre-Plugin-Dancer
20:23 Nick bowtie, how can it help?
20:26 bowtie Nick, at the current time, we would put stuff :), that helps / assyst Dancer in a Plugin, not in core Padre,
20:27 botbot Welcome lizmat
20:27 bowtie hence fixing our Dancer plugin, and adding what ever you want there should be the way forward
20:28 bowtie Nick, give me 15 mins to eat
20:28 El_Che hey liz
20:29 El_Che lizmat: hoe zijn de foto's uit de d800 uitgekomen? :)
20:29 lizmat via een kaartlezertje…  :-)
20:29 El_Che lol
20:30 lizmat but isn't the language here English?
20:30 Nick bowtie, I read the source code and do not understand how can I replace default function list in side plugin
20:30 El_Che and that's the end of personal welcomes :)
20:31 lizmat hehe

20:33 Nick I understand that I can add different panel like TODO with Routes, but it's very inconvenient to code with two different panels with the one meaning.
20:34 Nick Or I can clone default Function List to such panel. But it does not look like good way.
20:35 El_Che indeed 2x
20:35 El_Che actually, last time I checked the plugin could overwrite a lot of stuff
20:37 Nick El_Che, I'm new to Padre source code, can you give link to documentation about writing Padre plugins or something like that?
20:38 El_Che http://search.cpan.org/~plaven/Padre-0.96/lib/Padre/Plugin.pm
20:43 bowtie Nick, also see -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/PadrePluginDialog
20:46 bowtie ok, been checking, the Function Panel is the low cost alternative to the Outline Panel
20:46 Nick well, first of all, Padre::Plugin::Dancer looks broken
20:47 bowtie so adding another Panel for Dancer routes belongs in Padre::Plugin::Dancer
20:47 Nick http://paste.scsys.co.uk/206612
20:47 bowtie Nick, it is in need of updating
20:51 Nick bowtie, can you do it?
20:51 Nick please )
20:55 bowtie Nick, I will have a look, at getting the version in our svn trunk to load, via plugin Manager, but it won't be today
21:00 bowtie Nick, what version of Padre are you using?
21:00 Nick last from CPAN - 0.96
21:01 bowtie cool, have you looked at also running trunk
21:02 bowtie Nick,  http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/Development
21:03 Nick thanks, the time, I think, does not matter, the idea about routes in function list was discussed in dancer' maillist about year ago and nobody did anything for it.
21:04 bowtie Nick, also look at http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/Plugins
21:06 bowtie Nick, you should also send a post to padre-dev list about this issue
21:07 bowtie Nick, -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki#Mailinglists
21:08 Nick thanks, I subscribed couple hours ago
21:08 bowtie Nick, are you familiar with wxFormBuilder
21:08 Nick no
21:09 bowtie Nick, you need to look at the cookbooks
21:09 bowtie http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/PadrePluginDialog
21:10 bowtie you can get code from cpan Padre::Plugin::Cookbook
21:12 Nick bowtie:  `make test` from wiki/Development gives a lot of errors. What should I do with it?
21:14 bowtie Nick, which test?
21:18 Nick bowtie: https://gist.github.com/3492321
21:22 bowtie Nick, https://metacpan.org/module/BOWTIE/Debug-Client-0.21_08/lib/Debug/Client.pm
21:23 Nick # cpanm  Debug::Client
21:23 Nick Debug::Client is up to date. (0.20)
21:23 bowtie Nick, Error:  Debug::Client version 0.21 required
21:23 El_Che Nick
21:24 El_Che use cpanm for getting the dependencies first? http://nxadm.wordpress.com/2010/12/10/build-padre-svn-easily-with-perlbrew-and-cpanm/
21:24 El_Che the "cpanm --installdeps ." will fix your problem
21:24 bowtie Nick, cpanm BOWTIE/Debug-Client-0.21_08.tar.gz
21:24 El_Che (the post on my blog is old, but It still applies)
21:25 bowtie El_Che, cool
21:25 El_Che you risk getting one old dependency after the other when doing it manually
21:26 bowtie El_Che, can you fill in any gaps in this for me please, http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/PadrePluginNopaste
21:27 El_Che it looks like it does what it's supposed to
21:27 Nick thanks, now all fine with make test
21:27 El_Che nick++
21:28 bowtie El_Che, it's this bit http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/PadrePluginNopaste#supportedNopasteservices
21:29 bowtie I know I have to sort out dialog, as I don't like it, at present, and get a commit bit from jq
21:30 bowtie but it's in trunk and works
21:30 El_Che http://perl.nopaste.dk/
21:31 El_Che http://nopaste.linux-dev.org/
21:34 Nick well, I need to sleep a little bit, I'll be back after some days and reading all mentioned manuals )
