22:49 pnuli1234 Hello, I am trying to find out how to run the padre on mac mountain lion. I have it installed and works fine. But when I try to run the script it does not open the window to display the output
22:49 pnuli1234 Is there any setting I have to change on the padre to it will display the output?
22:50 pnuli1234 Can you help me
22:53 El_Che hey
22:53 pnuli1234 Yes
22:53 El_Che pnuli1234: have you tried: tools - preferences - Language Perl 5
22:53 El_Che there "use external window..."
22:54 dolmen2 left #padre
22:54 pnuli1234 There is a check mark in the box.
22:55 pnuli1234 But there is no value in the perl interpretor box. should some thing be there in it?
22:55 El_Che mm, should be autodetected
22:55 El_Che can you deselect the box? see if the internal window works?
22:56 pnuli1234 No. nothing changed. I deselected the check box and tried
22:56 pnuli1234 It works fine for me on the windows machine I have.
22:57 El_Che I have no osx here to check it, I hope someone may show up in the channel
22:58 El_Che (and to be honest, on Linux, I just use a terminal next to padre to test-run my programs)
22:58 pnuli1234 I want to be able to quickly write and test it in the padre. It works fine on the windows. Not sure why it is not invoking the output on mac.
22:59 pnuli1234 There must be some setting that needs to be changed/
22:59 pnuli1234 Should I leave this session open and see if some other might respond?
22:59 pnuli1234 Is this session open for others to see the messages?
23:04 El_Che sorry back
23:05 El_Che we do have a lack of osx dev and testers, so I am not sure if someone is reading it now. Our bug trac is having some issues, so maybe you could send a short mail to a mailing list?
23:06 El_Che http://padre.perlide.org/contact.html
23:06 El_Che at the bottim
23:06 El_Che bottim
23:06 El_Che bottom
23:06 El_Che :)
23:06 El_Che I know I few osx dev that follow the list
23:10 pnuli1234 Ok. Thanks. I'll do that.
23:12 El_Che If you ever have the time/tuits to get into the code...
23:12 bowtie El_Che, hi
23:12 bowtie stkowski, ping
23:12 El_Che hi bowtie
23:13 pnuli1234 I'll try it
23:13 bowtie El_Che, stkowski is one of our OSX devs, did the update to wiki pages
23:13 pnuli1234 Just now I signed up for the mailing list subscription.
23:13 bowtie like you I am linux :)
23:14 pnuli1234 linux is good.
23:14 El_Che I'd better go to bed. At the coast with the family. I stole some time to write now everyone is sleeping, but my youngest daughter will be at my bed in exactly 5:46 minutes :)
23:14 bowtie lol
23:14 El_Che stkowski++ <== we need osx people (as it can sadly not be virtualized)
23:14 pnuli1234 Have nice sleep. Thank you very much.
23:14 El_Che bye pnuli1234, bowtie
23:14 bowtie better than an alam clock
23:14 El_Che more effective
23:15 El_Che I tried the snooze feature
23:15 El_Che it made things worse :)
23:15 bowtie got poked in the eye
23:15 El_Che anyway, me /off
23:15 pnuli1234 That must hut.
23:15 pnuli1234 What is the email address that I should be mailing the request to ?
23:16 bowtie O yes, I remember little human alarm clock well
23:16 bowtie try -> padre-dev@perlide.org
23:18 pnuli1234 Ok. Thanks
23:19 bowtie ok
23:22 bowtie botbot, tell El_Che I think this was fixed by tome and stkowski months ago
23:22 botbot bowtie, I'll tell that El_Che when we see each other.
23:33 stkowski which? wha?
23:33 bowtie stkowski, hi
23:34 stkowski Hi. Sorry. been buried in the new job
23:34 bowtie is this repeated question about running a perl programme in padre still reverent, against trunk on OSX
23:34 stkowski *scrolls back* Oh..I remember running into that when I tried a direct build of Padre
23:35 stkowski I think using the bundled version works around that. You have to manually enter the path.
23:35 bowtie yes, I did remember correctly
23:35 Di-ima joined #padre
23:35 stkowski Good question if trunk has the fix now.
23:35 stkowski it might…my terminal patch might have fixed that
23:36 bowtie yes, also the use of absolute paths in run_command
23:41 stkowski yes
23:42 bowtie so fixed in trunk
