13:08 wizonesolutions OK, so I'm set up on CPAN Testers...so typing `cpan Padre` to try to provide the failures for Mac OS X. Someone let me know if this is the wrong command :)
13:15 daxim you need to have http://p3rl.org/CPAN::Reporter installed and configured it according to the cpantesters wiki
13:17 wizonesolutions daxim: yep, I did. as instructed by garu above. So I just sent a test fail report for Wx. Do I have to tell anyone? Can I get updates somehow if it's fixed? (so I know to try again)
13:18 daxim you don't have to tell anyone, the report is processed through cpantesters.org, among other things
13:19 daxim you can subscribe to the feed for Wx, but that's not quite answering the exact question whether it's fixed
13:19 daxim you can try again, but CPAN::Reporter will not send duplicate reports.  do test whenever there's a new version

16:49 garu wizonesolutions: thanks for reporting the issue. Do you happen to have the message itself available? I can try and forward it to some people and see if they can help
16:50 dolmen joined #padre
17:00 wizonesolutions garu: hmm, where could I find that? I could PM you my configured email if that'd help look it up
17:05 stkowski joined #padre
17:07 garu wizonesolutions: you mentioned when installing it via cpanm it also failed, right? if you try it again, it should mention a 'build.log' file
17:08 wizonesolutions garu: oh, let me do that.
17:08 dod joined #padre
17:10 garu wizonesolutions: after you locate the build.log, please paste it on http://paste.scsys.co.uk
17:10 garu and let us know of the autogenerated link
17:23 wizonesolutions garu: cpan says I can run a reports command to see the cpan-testers results, but I'm not sure how to run it
17:24 wizonesolutions `cpan reports` doesn't do it
17:24 wizonesolutions anyway, cpanm will probably be thinking for a while, so will paste that link once I get there.
17:25 garu wizonesolutions: maybe typing 'reports' on the cpan shell (i.e. the prompt with "cpan>" that appears after you type 'cpan'
17:25 garu I'm not sure
17:26 bowtie wizonesolutions, hi, if you type cpan, than against the cpan prompt you can type 'test Module::Name'
17:27 bowtie where Module::Name is a real one :)
17:29 bowtie or you could do 'cpan -t Module::Name' at cmd
17:30 bowtie see -> https://metacpan.org/module/BDFOY/App-Cpan-1.61/script/cpan#DESCRIPTION for more info
17:33 wizonesolutions garu/bowtie: yeah, reports on the prompt works
17:33 wizonesolutions just trying to get all its deps installed, heh...
17:33 bowtie ok
17:34 wizonesolutions bah it's not intuitive to use. I will wait for cpanm to fail and put the build.log on paste.scsys.co.uk
17:34 wizonesolutions :)

17:56 shadowpaste "wizonesolutions" at 217.168.150.38 pasted "cpanm build.log for failing Wx and some other stuff" (728 lines) at http://paste.scsys.co.uk/240562
17:56 wizonesolutions ^ garu bowtie
17:59 bowtie stkowski, ping
18:01 bowtie wizonesolutions, looks like you are using 2.9 and I think we only support 2.8 so lets ask stkowski
18:01 wizonesolutions bowtie: of Wx? Yeah, I couldn't even build 2.8 on Mac OS X 10.7 when I was trying to do it from source, so not surprising if the build tried that
18:04 bowtie ok, now if I remember correctly, stkowski added to wiki pages how to do this -> http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/DownloadMacOSX
18:15 wizonesolutions bowtie: hmm, I know I have been there before...
18:15 wizonesolutions which I think is what started me on all this
18:15 wizonesolutions I can take a second look if you can let me know which part you think I should try?
18:16 bowtie wizonesolutions, you need to talk to stkowski or tome
18:16 bowtie they both have OSX access
18:20 stkowski I would go with the CitrusPerl route first
18:20 stkowski It puts it all in one nice directory..and you can wrap a shell script or applescript around it and be done with it
18:20 stkowski It is my primary method of using Padre.
18:20 stkowski bowtie: Good morning
18:21 bowtie stkowski, good evening
18:21 stkowski wizonesolutions: I'm a bit idle at times… but you're welcome to ping me if you get stuck
18:21 bowtie thanks for that
18:21 stkowski No prob :)
18:23 bowtie stkowski++
18:43 wizonesolutions stkowski: can CitrusPerl happily coexist with perlbrew?
18:44 stkowski Yes
18:44 stkowski CitrusPerl can exist in its own director
18:44 stkowski Just change your path when you want to call it or call it directly
18:44 wizonesolutions part of building from source is because I don't know how to get the Vi plugin into the Padre binary.
18:44 stkowski Be mindful of PERL5LIB when you do that, of course.
18:44 stkowski gotcha
18:44 wizonesolutions actually, I don't know how to get it in there from source either :P
18:45 wizonesolutions was hoping to just cpanm Padre::Plugin::Vi in the end
18:45 wizonesolutions somehow
18:45 stkowski I've not used that plugin :)
18:45 wizonesolutions does CitrusPerl come with a cpanm?
18:45 stkowski If you have Citrus Perl pathed, it might be as simple as that
18:45 stkowski But first..make sure you get basic padre working
