17:52 itcharlie1 bowtie_:  Got a fix for the breakpoints not showing up in Breakpoints panel for Win7

19:14 bowtie_ itcharlie1: hi
19:14 itcharlie1 hello
19:15 itcharlie1 I just noticed that when I load the same file again I don't get to see the list of breakpoints on the Breakpoints pane
19:16 bowtie_ itcharlie1: you need to make sure you are using absolute path and file name
19:17 bowtie_ itcharlie1: did you see the path/dir in DB
19:17 itcharlie1 Yes
19:17 itcharlie1 so the DB stores the path as
19:17 bowtie_ itcharlie1: cool
19:18 itcharlie1 C:\\Users\\cgonzalez\\Desktop'
19:18 itcharlie1 and $self->{project_dir}  =>  'C:\Users\cgonzalez\Desktop'
19:19 itcharlie1 so when the pattern match between both db and current path is done, the regex fails
19:20 itcharlie1 I figure I only add the change to the update_list funtion
19:20 bowtie_ itcharlie1: so $self->{project_dir} is in win32 format and DB is in perl/unix format, is that correct
19:21 itcharlie1 yes with single backlash
19:23 bowtie_ itcharlie1: so $self->{project_dir} is local format, just to check
19:23 itcharlie1 yeah so single backslash on $self->{project_dir}  ( local format )   and DB stores with double backslash.
19:24 bowtie_ itcharlie1: just read your e-mail in padre-dev
19:25 itcharlie1 ok cool
19:26 bowtie_ itcharlie1: your patch works ok, yes
19:26 itcharlie1 coolio
19:27 bowtie_ itcharlie1: did you also check the code in Padre::Util there is a chunk of code there as well
19:28 itcharlie1 I will take a look
19:30 itcharlie1 also I was wondering if this is a bug  : When I open a file with Breakpoints I don't get to see them listed on the Breakpoints panel  unless I click the refresh breakpoint list button.
19:31 bowtie_ itcharlie1: there are 4 ways to set/view a breakpoint, menu bar, breakpoint panel, debugger panel when debugger is running, and the vertical bar next to line numbers ( sorry forgot name)
19:33 bowtie_ itcharlie1: that is why I am asking, I am sure there is another place they are called from, just can't think at moment
19:33 bowtie_ itcharlie1: sorry
19:35 itcharlie1 no worries I will look for them
19:35 itcharlie1 find it difficult to search for things in Windows when I am so used to commandline in linux
19:36 itcharlie1 I am using komodo Edit and it has an option to search for  a string in files under a dir.
19:36 bowtie_ itcharlie1: found it -> Padre::Breakpoints please check
19:37 bowtie_ itcharlie1: use Padre, find in files, search for Breakpoints :)
19:37 itcharlie1 :D
19:37 itcharlie1 ok so
19:37 itcharlie1 I think this one only displays Breakpoints in the file window
19:38 itcharlie1 it adds the Markers '...' to the editor
19:40 bowtie_ itcharlie1: yes it sets the ... on file load in padre editor, it should also force an update of the Breakpoint-panel
19:42 bowtie_ itcharlie1: Padre-Breakpoints was required, so that we can show them all the time, and let the author set them with out the debugger running
19:45 bowtie_ itcharlie1: I am happy to apply your patch, I just wanted you to check you had got it working
19:46 itcharlie1 ok so the patch works for me.  but its the other bug where I load the same file and it doesn
19:46 itcharlie1 doesn't display the breakpoints for me until refresh
19:46 itcharlie1 that I am looking at right now.
19:47 bowtie_ itcharlie1: I think you are correct though, that on file load bp-panel is not updated, but when debugger is running, the bp-panel is updated as we jump around, nice catch
19:47 itcharlie1 cool thanks.
19:47 itcharlie1 I guess I will create a ticket on this.
19:48 bowtie_ itcharlie1: cool
19:48 itcharlie1 and about this patch I didn't see a ticket but I was hoping to ask you first before I create one.
19:48 bowtie_ itcharlie1: do you want to follow it through, or just ticket and patch
19:49 stkowski joined #padre
19:49 itcharlie1 I say ticket and patch. Then work on the other issue.
19:51 bowtie_ itcharlie1: cool, I am ok with that, I will apply tomorrow and let you close ticket, ps you will need a second ticket for Breakpoint-panel refresh thought, is that ok
19:52 itcharlie1 ok
19:52 bowtie_ itcharlie1: time for food, later :)
19:52 itcharlie1 word
19:52 bowtie_ itcharlie1: sorry, thanks
19:54 itcharlie1 no worries
