00:24 waxhead http://blogs.perl.org/users/peter_lavender/2013/11/padre-100-has-been-released.html
00:27 itcharlie1 Yay!!!
00:47 bowtie_ waxhead++
00:48 itcharlie1 waxhead++
00:48 waxhead just doing what I should have done a few days ago
00:48 waxhead I'm at home with 2 sick kids today, so no excuses really.  :)
00:49 bowtie_ waxhead: have you been cooking again :)
00:50 waxhead lol... no...
00:50 waxhead well yes, fish last night
00:50 waxhead but that's not the cause :-p
00:53 waxhead so what's the plan with ongoing development?
00:54 bowtie_ that is a good question, I think we should continue to fix bugs, we still have a lot of plugins that need updating to api v2.2
00:56 bowtie_ I think it would be interesting to see if we could bump perl dependency to 5.12, which is what we have effectively done
00:57 itcharlie1 bowtie_ just resolve open trac tickets?
00:57 bowtie_ we should also go through the tickets and see if we can drop the open from 400+ to 200+
00:58 bowtie_ itcharlie1: some will be enhancements :)
00:58 waxhead agreed, we should be looking at tickets.. I haven't done anything in perl for a long time, but might have a peek at some of the issues and see how well your debugger works :)
00:58 waxhead I see the copy/paste bug is still around too...
00:59 waxhead I think it's more a Wx issue from the last itme we really looked into it
00:59 waxhead is azawawi still around these days?
00:59 waxhead he's the editor guru...
00:59 waxhead and he did some really good work with the version control integration
01:00 bowtie_ we should also be looking at using wx 2.9 or 3.0 as that will enable us to do a lot more
01:02 bowtie_ I will buzz azawawi, it's been a while, and ask
01:02 waxhead bowtie_, that would be a fairly large body of work wouldn't it?
01:04 bowtie_ there is some stuff regarding displaying info in dialogues using html that works in 2.9 iirc
01:05 bowtie_ do you want to buzz adamk as you speak the local lingo :)
01:08 bowtie_ night all
02:00 itcharlie1 ok so there is 177 open tickets that are not enhancements. Maybe we should focus on those tickets first?
02:01 itcharlie1 http://padre.perlide.org/trac/query?status=accepted&status=assigned&status=new&amp;status=reopened&type=!enhancement&amp;max=500&col=id&col=summary&col=status&col=owner&col=type&col=priority&col=milestone&order=priority
02:01 itcharlie1 botbot: help
02:06 waxhead I see that wxWidgets has been released: http://news.slashdot.org/story/13/11/11/2310220/wxwidgets-30-first-major-release-in-several-years
02:06 itcharlie1 nice!!!
02:08 itcharlie1 I think this bug list can be dropped down significantly. By looking at a few tickets it seems like they can be closed because these issues are unrelated with new version of Padre
02:08 itcharlie1 example:  http://padre.perlide.org/trac/ticket/1474
02:09 itcharlie1 plus creator of ticket didn't confirm but bug is not reproducible
02:15 waxhead itcharlie1, it's probably really easy to test and if it works for you, close it with works fine in 1.00

21:23 itcharlie :D
21:23 itcharlie bowtie_:  can't you kick him out?
21:23 bowtie_ itcharlie: I noticed that,  that's great news, I did a review some time back and got them down to approx 400
21:23 notEvilEnough joined #padre
21:24 itcharlie also if you filter the tickets by type is not enhancement you will see about 175 tickets
21:24 itcharlie that is a small bug ticket queue
21:24 itcharlie that is what I been focusing on.
21:24 itcharlie I also Identified a few that I may need to test in Ubuntu to confirm those bugs in new Padre 1.00

21:25 itcharlie I guess he's not Evil Enough :)
21:27 itcharlie bowtie_ I was thinking that the Padre  site should have updated information about how to install Padre.
21:28 itcharlie also I see that the download link in the docs page is not working

21:47 bowtie_ spidamoo: hi, and your Q is
21:47 spidamoo i installed Padre on debian 7
21:47 spidamoo and it crashes when i'm trying to apply settings
21:48 spidamoo when i run it as root it works fine though
21:48 spidamoo i thought it maybe because of wrong permission settings on setting files
21:48 spidamoo but they seem all right
21:49 bowtie_ spidamoo: how and where did you install Padre
21:49 spidamoo via package manager
21:49 spidamoo i have to admit im new to linux as well
21:50 bowtie_ spidamoo: what version of Padre
21:51 spidamoo Perl Application Development and Refactoring Environment 0.96
21:56 itcharlie maybe try cpan install ?
21:58 itcharlie left #padre
22:03 notEvilEnough joined #padre
22:04 bowtie_ spidamoo: ok 0,96 is a bit out of date, did you look at http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/Download
22:05 bowtie_ spidamoo: we would suggest the perlbrew and cpan route, but if you wait a short time there will be a new deb
22:06 notEvilEnough1 joined #padre
22:07 bowtie_ spidamoo: are you aware of http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=Padre&amp;searchon=names&suite=all&section=all
22:08 spidamoo well that's how i installed it
22:08 spidamoo searched for 'padre' in package manager
22:09 spidamoo thank you, i'll try install it from cpan for now
22:10 bowtie_ spidamoo: did you not see 0.98 as being the current
22:10 bowtie_ spidamoo: consider using a local perl using perlbrew, see trac
22:10 spidamoo yes, but 0.96 is current stable
22:11 bowtie_ then cpan or cpanm
22:12 spidamoo ok thanks
