17:23 mib_ylzmbt Hi all. Not sure if this is the right place for posting questions ? I had asked a question on the 11th. Really want to use padre as my perl editor / debugger. It keeps trying to start xterms. I am running gnome and not XServer, and therefore dont have xterms. I cant seem to find an option to replace xterm with anything else ?
17:23 mib_ylzmbt Would really appreciate the help. Migrating a lot of shell scripts to perl. Would be nice to have an ide.

21:55 mib_b80wql Ok. so can now run an xterm
22:01 mib_b80wql Can run my script. which is awesome
22:07 mib_b80wql But still not really following something. I can run my script in a terminal window correctly.
22:10 mib_b80wql However, if i load up the main file and press run ">", nothing happens and i get this error in stderr : Useless use of File::pushd::pushd in void context at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Padre/Wx/Main.pm line 2970. Useless use of File::pushd::pushd in void context at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Padre/Wx/Main.pm line 2970.
22:11 mib_b80wql I'd like to set a breakpoint, but i get the debugger is NOT running error
22:11 mib_b80wql If I try to press "step-in" or step-over, padre crashes
22:21 mib_b80wql Very odd; restarted padre; now im able to run the script with output in the output window

22:32 mib_kvs2sx Now padre got into a terminal state. Padre spawned 3 perl processes which were pegging my cpus to above 80% !!! Padre died, but the 3 perl processes were still maxing my cpu. System became unresponsive and I had to halt cpu.
22:32 mib_kvs2sx Is this something in my env ? something i have not correctly setup ?
22:32 mib_kvs2sx Im sure this is not enough info. Whatever info you need from my env, please let me know and i'll provide
22:34 mib_kvs2sx I will provide this: Fedora 26 laptop; 12 GB and plenty of hard drive space left. I have been running perl and perl debugger on this latop for many years without any issues
