09:10 elspru hey is there a pasm tutorial anywhere?
09:10 elspru or any kind of (updated) documentation for it?
09:14 FROGGS elspru: search for pasm at http://irclog.perlgeek.de/parrot
09:14 FROGGS there was a discussion about that recently
09:23 elspru k, so it's deprecated.

14:24 elspru can I use pasm syntax in PIR? I find it easier to understand.
14:24 elspru I like words, symbols drive me nuts.

14:27 elspru rurban: can I use pasm syntax in PIR?
14:30 FROGGS joined #parrot
14:33 rurban_ elspru: PIR ias almost PASM, just a bit better
14:33 rurban_ no
14:34 rurban_ different parsers and compilers
14:39 elspru bah

18:25 Chirag Hey! :)
18:28 rurban_ How did it go with your exams?
18:28 Chirag great!
18:29 rurban_ Good :)
18:29 Chirag all done! I am all free now :D .. no more distractions :)
18:29 Chirag really excited to get back on track!
18:29 rurban_ But you'll have more exams in June, right?
18:29 Chirag nope
18:29 Chirag end of sem
18:30 rurban_ Uuh, good
18:30 rurban_ lot of time now
18:30 Chirag yes!
18:31 Chirag What about you? any new movies? :)
18:31 rurban_ Following Cannes right now: http://cannes-rurban.rhcloud.com/
18:31 Chirag oh nice!
18:32 rurban_ And nobody will care about Titli
18:32 Chirag havent heard
18:32 rurban_ (The only Indian movie this year, better than Lunchbox)
18:33 rurban_ And a lot of Latin american movies lately: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/user/id/839674136/ratings/
18:33 Chirag I am not much of a follower.. but there is always a short film category right?
18:33 Chirag I really like those
18:33 rurban_ yes, but just a small one
18:34 rurban_ It's more about the biggest films of the year. The biggest this tiume almost 4 hrs (Turkish Ceylan: Winter Sleep)
18:34 rurban_ Sundance has more and better shorts
18:35 Chirag oh..
18:35 Chirag nice
18:35 Chirag Omar.. thats one movie I want to watch
18:36 rurban_ That's a big one
18:36 rurban_ Locke is also really good, much better than expected
18:38 Chirag First time I am hearing about that one.. summary looks good..
18:38 rurban_ Indian movies in Houston are currently only 2 States (still) and Million Dollar Arm (US movie about indian cricket players)
18:39 rurban_ Ah, and Lunchbox (Dabba) also still playing
18:39 Chirag lunchbox.. I have heard its got a refreshing storyline
18:39 Chirag havent watched
18:40 rurban_ Lunchbox is pretty good, very european
18:40 rurban_ I haven't had time yet to improve pmc2c. Still a bit too busy with the perl5 compiler, but got my release out yesterday
18:40 Chirag ohk..
18:41 Chirag I was looking at how to get on with pmc2c
18:41 Chirag improving it is the next task
18:41 rurban_ But you really need to look into pmc2c also, as this is the key to automize all the optimizations. with perl -d step through it
18:41 rurban_ not easy to find the right breakpoints
18:42 rurban_ I can post a .perl5db helper later
18:42 Chirag that would help..
18:43 Chirag I need to get it running.. because it wont build after the WBs
18:44 rurban_ Once it gets running stable, the WB task is done :) Thanksfully easy to test now
18:44 rurban_ The optimization is already done, by reducing the nested function call
18:44 Chirag yes..
18:45 Chirag maybe I should compare the current release with the pmc2c_orig branch .. to see what is causing a failure
18:46 Chirag 'make' does show where it fails
18:47 Chirag I need to figure out 'why'
19:21 Chirag rurban: I think the problem is giving attributes to methods in default.pmc
19:21 Chirag it throws the error expected declaration specifiers before ‘:’ token ... say like :no_wb
19:37 Chirag thats fixed .. apparently I had added no_wb attribute to non-VTABLE methods like caller() and cant_do_* ... not sure why that was giving a problem in the first place .. I guess I need to understand how VTABLE methods are treated differently..
19:44 Chirag new set of errors: ISO C90 forbids mixed declarations and code  .. for instance: PMC *result = PMCNULL
20:24 particle1 joined #parrot
20:27 Chirag fixed that .. pmc* const declared and initialized before WB is added
