22:46 Qioa Hello all! I am working on parrot VM and i am a beginner at the moment. Does anyone know how to unistall it ? Because I want to install it again due to some mistakes - misconfigurations I did
22:54 kid51 Qioa: I'm glad to see that Parrot is still attracting beginners! :-)
22:55 kid51 How did you install it?
23:00 Qioa by following the instructions on the webpage ! here : http://docs.parrot.org/parrot/latest/html/docs/book/pct/ch02_getting_started.pod.html
23:01 Qioa :-)
23:03 Qioa just make install
23:03 kid51 Now, I have to confess that, in all the years I worked on Parrot, I never once actually installed it!
23:05 kid51 And I have no idea whether the instructions on that page are still valid.  Parrot has not been under heavy development in recent years, so the docs may be out of date.
23:05 kid51 But, let me at least ask ...
23:05 kid51 What errors do you think you committed?
23:05 Qioa Thank you very much ! :-)
23:06 kid51 Or, what do you wish you would have done?
23:13 kid51 From what I can tell by reading the INSTRUCTIONS section in README.pod, if you want to install Parrot in the same location but in a different configuration, you should only need to call 'perl Configure.pl' again with different options, then make, make test, make install.
23:15 kid51 If you want to install it in a different location ... well, that may be more difficult.
23:16 kid51 In the sense that many applications which one builds from source code do not come with a 'make uninstall' target -- and Parrot is no different there.
23:21 kid51 Also, see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1439950/whats-the-opposite-of-make-install-ie-how-do-you-uninstall-a-library-in-lin
23:23 Qioa Thank you so much for the answers and for your time! and sorry for not answering fast i am also searching stackoverflow :-)
23:24 Qioa hmm okay i understand then probably i am goin to try that out and if it doesn't work i am goin to format ! [the drive i am using is only for that- testing]
23:27 kid51 Also please feel free to post questions to the parrot-users mailing list.  Instructions for that are in README.pod
23:28 Qioa Okay great :-) again thanks a lot !
23:29 Qioa cya arround :-)
