19:23 whiteknight WHAT I DID
19:23 whiteknight * GCI Tasks. Lots of new code from GCI. Some of it already merged, some of it waiting in branches for review
19:23 whiteknight * Hunting around for new GCI tasks. The deadline was yesterday. All tasks we create now will be published on Dec 16th. Ideas very much welcome, we want to have an overwhelming supply of tasks for students in December for winter break.
19:23 whiteknight * Worked on Rosella. New Random library and CommandLine library are now stable. new Date library for date/time stuff. Working on Dumper library to get that ready for prime-time.
19:23 whiteknight * Updating Rosella to use the new Winxed "inline" feature.
19:23 whiteknight * Following along intently with NQP and Rakudo changes, especially new NCI and 6model improvements. Am itching to start porting some of those ideas down into Parrot if possible.
19:23 whiteknight WHAT I WILL DO:
19:23 whiteknight * Continue with GCI stuff.
19:23 whiteknight * Keep working on Rosella. Want to do some real work on Dumper and Reflect libraries.
19:23 whiteknight * (hopefully) making settlement on a house tomorrow. That and moving in will eat up some time this week. May be without internet access for some days.
19:23 whiteknight EOR
19:26 NotFound What I did (lat two weeks)

19:26 NotFound -other
19:26 NotFound * Started the project Guitor, a GUI module using Xlib with NCI
19:26 NotFound WhatI will do:
19:26 NotFound No plan
19:26 NotFound EOR
19:27 NotFound Oooops, forgot to mention: inline in winxed
19:29 Util Done: ate turkey.

19:30 cotto hello
19:30 alvis hello
19:33 cotto How's this week been?

19:34 Util Hello
19:35 NotFound Hola
19:35 whiteknight hello
19:35 whiteknight the week has been very good. GCI is kicking butt
19:36 Util Seeing traffic on NCI (dynlib/libffi) makes me wonder if NCI Documentation could be a GCI task.
19:36 whiteknight the documentation-related tasks have not been too popular so far
19:36 whiteknight early adopters might just be coders
19:36 Util understandable.
19:37 cotto Could be.  Documentation doesn't seem important until you don't have any.
19:43 NotFound I'll suggest that experiments with dynlib can be made using dynpmcs, better than compromising the main system.
19:44 cotto NotFound: that's generally a good starting point.  +1
19:46 cotto I look forward to seeing how that goes.
19:46 Util +1, until the experiments are done.
19:49 whiteknight if NQP can load it dynamically through dynops, we cna do the the same thing
19:50 whiteknight in fact, I say we get our guns, rush in there, and steal their dynops
19:50 whiteknight and when the dynops workout, we move them into regular ops
19:55 cotto Does anyone want to lead that charge?
20:02 alvis I'm sorry, but I'm running outta time here.  May I ask a question?
20:02 cotto alvis: sure
20:02 alvis Thanks. Are there any objections to creating a Parrot VM Specification?  A document similar to the JVM Specification, but, of course, for Parrot.
20:03 cotto in the future, say "q1q" to queue a question and we'll know that you've got something to ask.
20:03 cotto That's appropriate for a stable VM.  It's likely to become outdated fairly quickly.
20:04 alvis Ok, didn't know that.
20:06 alvis hmmm ..., ok. I'll have to think about that then.
20:06 cotto I do like the idea of a more spec-like organization of our current documentation.
20:07 alvis I *think* I can come up with something.  I'll write up a plan and let folks offer their opinions.
20:08 cotto alvis++
20:08 Util +1
20:10 alvis Ok.  I'm sorry, but I gtg.
20:10 cotto Any other questions?
20:10 whiteknight I think we need 6model before we can import NQP's new nci ops directly
20:11 whiteknight so we should focus on 6model first. the most gains are to be had there
20:19 cotto How stable has that been?  Last I checked, it was still being changed in nqp.
20:20 cotto It'll be something to look into this week.
20:21 cotto Is there anything else before we call it a wrap?
20:21 whiteknight that's the problem, I think it still is changing
20:21 whiteknight no, let's wrap it
20:23 cotto It's a wrap.
