14:03 run4flat drrho, if I understand your aim, I don't think there's a function that'll do it
14:03 run4flat but you can achieve it in two lines, I think
14:04 run4flat the shape of your 2d grid, each of which holds a vetor, is (40, 30, 1000)
14:04 run4flat and you want, I think, a new grid with shape (41, 30, 1000)
14:04 run4flat so, allocate the memory: my $new_grid = zeroes(41, 30, 1000)
14:05 * run4flat realizes his dims may be off. Oops.
14:06 run4flat yeah, sorry, my dims are off
14:06 run4flat oh well, let's see if I can salvage this
14:06 run4flat $new_grid(0:39, 0:14, 0:999) .= $old_grid(0:39, 0:14, 0:999)
14:07 run4flat $new_grid(1:40, 15:29, 0:999) .= $old_grid(0:39, 15:29, 0:999)
14:07 run4flat that uses niceslice
14:07 run4flat that, at least, if how I would achieve what you're looking for
14:09 run4flat If memory allocations is a problem, it may be possible to create an extended version of the rotate function
14:10 run4flat whereis rotate
14:10 run4flat oh, no liddle!
14:10 * run4flat fixes that

14:11 run4flat whereis rotate
14:11 run4flat c'mon liddle
14:11 liddle_piddle_bot run4flat: Found rotate in PDL::Slices (http://pdl.sourceforge.net/PDLdocs/Slices.html#rotate)
14:11 run4flat there we go

14:15 _vicash_ hi, has anyone had success with using Prima::Image on the Mac OSX system ?
14:16 run4flat _vicash_, yeah, no trouble on my machine
14:17 run4flat though I don't have access to it at the moment; it's getting a new wireless card
14:17 run4flat what trouble have you struck?
14:21 _vicash_ run4flat, well i am using a splash screen widget that works perfect on linux
14:21 _vicash_ but on the Mac it does not load the jpeg file
14:22 run4flat do you have the jpeg library installed?
14:22 _vicash_ i have libjpeg installed correctly too..
14:22 run4flat ha!
14:22 _vicash_ both using macports and using manual libjpeg install in /usr/local
14:22 run4flat hmm
14:22 _vicash_ yet when I reinstall Prima with EXTRA_CCFLAGS and other options it does not build
14:22 _vicash_ so i have to install it with default options and it builds but without the jpeg
14:23 run4flat I wonder why it doesn't detect the jpeg library, though
14:23 _vicash_ so it doesnt load.. i tried on 2 different Macs too .. i have a 10.7 and the other Mac is 10.6
14:23 * run4flat is confused
14:23 _vicash_ i have the same problem in loading Prima::Icon as well
14:23 run4flat So the problem specifically is with the jpeg loading in Mac, right?
14:23 _vicash_ and that is a pNG file
14:23 run4flat oh
14:23 run4flat hmm
14:24 _vicash_ i was wondering if it is something to do with the X-server
14:24 run4flat I've done some image loading in my other uses of Prima.
14:24 run4flat I can't remember if I struck problems with jpeg
14:24 run4flat but I have successfully loaded images on my Mac using Prima::Image
14:24 run4flat I can say that much
14:24 _vicash_ ok
14:24 _vicash_ i will keep trying
14:24 run4flat can you convert the image to another format?
14:24 _vicash_ maybe there is a need for me to not use CPAN to install Prima
14:25 run4flat I don't think the image subsystem has changed in quite a while
14:25 _vicash_ i haven't tried converting jPG to PNG yet..
14:25 run4flat so CPAN vs dev shouldn't matter here
14:25 _vicash_ ok
14:26 _vicash_ is there a possibility of the version difference in the libjpeg that is being used ?
14:26 _vicash_ i have jpeglib installed using Macports
14:26 run4flat could be
14:26 run4flat I don't know anything about libjpeg
14:26 run4flat have they gone through a major upgrade in the last couple of years
14:26 _vicash_ no idea..
14:26 _vicash_ there was some problem with libgif but i found the older version of libgif that satisfied Prima's checks
14:27 _vicash_ Prima's makefile was checking for a GIFLIB macro that has now been removed from the headers
14:27 _vicash_ it was last present in libgif 4.1.6
14:27 _vicash_ so i had to download that version and install it
14:27 _vicash_ have you had success in Prima::Icon being shown on the UI ? because on the Mac there is no icon shown
14:28 run4flat hmm
14:29 _vicash_ anyway.. if Prima::Image has worked for you then it should work for me.. maybe i need to dig deeper to see what version mismatches might exist
14:35 run4flat that is certainly something worth bringing to Dmitry's attention
14:35 run4flat the version skew for libgif
14:35 run4flat but, yeah, experiment and see what works on your Mac
14:35 run4flat if nothing else, .bmp should always work
14:35 run4flat :-)
14:36 run4flat that's built-in to Prima
14:43 _vicash_ cool. thanks. i am trying out the PNG variation to see if i can skirt the problem for some time
14:46 run4flat sounds good to me
14:48 _vicash_ yes the JPG to PNG conversion worked. now my splash screen looks the same in both Linux & Mac.
14:48 _vicash_ thanks.
14:49 run4flat awesome. Good to know. :-)
