13:12 chm cbmuser:  I've added your information to the existing ticket at https://sourceforge.net/p/pdl/bugs/343/#4114
13:14 chm cbmuser:  What is your preferred contact info for testing the fixes?  My g-mail account is devel dot chm dot 01
13:57 cbmuser aesj, it's hard to talk to people when they leave IRC ..
13:59 vicash cbmuser, chm logs in and out but you can leave messages for him.. he will read them when he logs back in
13:59 vicash or just email him directly on his gmail that he has left for you
14:03 cbmuser I talked to Henning Glawe (the guy who maintains pdl in Debian) and he told me the issue is absolutely non-trivial to fix
14:04 cbmuser it's a casting issue
14:04 cbmuser and he said, pdl upstream is trying to fix the issue in a separate branch
14:08 vicash i think the developers have a separate mailing list too which they respond to at a much faster rate... pdl-porters

15:31 chm cbmuser: I'm the current PDL release manager---so you could say I'm "pdl upstream"
15:32 chm cbmuser: Progress is being made but the debugging the final bits is difficult.
15:32 chm cbmuser: Lack of an available system which easily shows the problem is part of it.
15:33 chm cbmuser: The rest is the fact that the real solution is to redo the PDL types system for better, more general support.
15:34 chm cbmuser: This current fix for 64bit integer indexing is a band-aid before the PDL3 reboot
15:35 chm cbmuser:  I do track the #pdl logs even if I am not on directly.  You will often get better and faster response from the mailing lists.
