02:33 sivoais vicash: re.pl is Moose based, so that is part of the reason. reply is Moo-based and is more lightweight

12:54 chm vicash:  As you've already discovered there are currently two PDL shells: perldl and pdl2
12:54 chm perldl is the original
12:55 chm pdl2 is a new shell built on Devel::REPL and Moose which makes for a slow start up
12:55 chm I looked into a Moo version of Devel::REPL but it was a bit of work and the loading for Devel::REPL was always arcane to me.
12:56 chm Then Reply came along (not Moo based but hand-rolled with Moo flavor).
12:56 chm The big win is that Reply is a lot more shell like and lightweight.  All things I've come to appreciate with PDL and pdl2 development.
12:57 chm I would like to respin pdl2 to use Reply instead leading to the long awaited convergence of perldl and pdl2 into "just plain pdl"
