04:34 sivoais I don't know if anyone is interested, but as I think about PDL3, I feel that it will need much smarter code generation
04:34 sivoais which is why I'm looking at what Scala researchers are doing with DSLs
04:35 sivoais like this "Better Loop Fusion for LMS" <http://infoscience.epfl.ch/record/208949>
04:42 sivoais and <https://stanford-ppl.github.io/Delite/index.html>

11:37 pdurbin it's interesting, sivoais
11:56 plicease sivoais: getting 404s on those links
11:56 plicease nevermind error with my client i think
12:02 pdurbin plicease: is it the < > sivoais like to add? :)
12:02 pdurbin likes*
12:18 plicease yup.
12:21 pdurbin sivoais: see?! ;)

14:24 vicash sivoais: uses markdown everywhere
14:27 pdurbin markdown got links wrong. < > shouldn't be required. no one puts those in plain text email. except maybe sivoais :)
14:28 jberger does markdown require < > ?
14:28 jberger []() or [][]
14:34 vicash markdown allows you to display <a href="http://myurl/">http://myurl</a> as <http://myurl>
14:34 vicash [mytext](http://myurl) is for doing <a href="http://myurl">mytext</a>
14:40 jberger really? I didn't know that
14:40 vicash the <> is just so that you dont have to type the same URL twice in []()
14:42 jberger vicash: http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax#link
14:42 jberger I don't see it
14:42 jberger perhaps that is gh flavor or common mark?
14:46 vicash jberger: i haven't looked at common mark. maybe Github flavor. but if you search for "angle brackets" in the link you provided it is supported
14:46 pdurbin everyone is used to github flavored markdown where you don't have to add the < > ... it's a very nice flavor :)
14:47 jberger oh, under miscellaneous
14:47 jberger see, that's why I didn't know about it!
14:47 jberger vicash++
14:56 sivoais hahaha, I started using it consistently when I saw that some tools didn't parse out the URLS I wanted correctly
15:02 sivoais for example, when my URLs had ) or a non-ASCII character in them that didn't use URI percent encoding
16:08 pdurbin sivoais: well, you're causing poor plicease pain ;)

20:34 jberger did we ever figure out if we should try to (re)integrate Test::PDL into the PDL core?
20:44 sivoais I don't think we ever did come to a decision on that. I dropped it since we will be trying to split PDL soon enough.
20:44 sivoais after that is done, it would be better to come back to that
20:49 jberger personally, while we kick stuff out, I would pull that in
20:50 jberger and in to PDL::Core
20:50 jberger so that it could be used by other components
20:50 jberger its pure-perl anyway
20:50 opkick [pdl] zmughal comment on issue #16: Discussion from February 2015: <http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.perl.pdl.devel/6266> http://git.io/vLjVv
20:51 sivoais yeah
20:51 sivoais only blocker for the split is the behaviour in SF#390
20:52 sivoais i don't have time right now to investigate much
20:53 sivoais darn. I keep forgetting that my new laptop doesn't have virtualisation extensions
20:54 jberger ultrabook?
20:54 sivoais yep
