00:09 Will_the_Chill bulk88: I don't see my fix in there
00:11 Will_the_Chill gotta log off for a bit
00:11 bulk88 it wasnt approriate
00:12 Will_the_Chill well then I would HARDLY say that Inline::Filters is "fixed", haha!

04:07 Will_the_Chill bulk88: in order to release RPerl to CPAN on January 1st, I'll have to get Inline::Filters _actually_ fixed.
04:07 Will_the_Chill I'm still waiting to hear back from Neil Watkiss, nothing so far.
04:08 bulk88 your fix was not correct, my fix was
04:08 Will_the_Chill does your new code also include my issue, so now Inline::Filters will work with RPerl?
04:09 bulk88 {INC} will never be an array reference, it is a string, dereffing it as an array is an error, if it is an array ref, that is error too, because Inline::Filters says the INC param is the same as in EU::MM, EU::MM always takes a string for INC, never an array ref
04:10 Will_the_Chill so is that a yes or a no?
04:10 bulk88 it passes on CPANTesters, IDK if it will work with RPerl, if it doesn't work with RPerl (you passing an array ref), fix what RPerl passes to Inline::Filters
04:12 Will_the_Chill well I'll check on it and let you know.  as far as I remember it was clearly an issue with Inline::Filters being "broken", not an issue with RPerl, but like I said I'll check on it.
04:12 bulk88 https://github.com/bulk88/Inline-Filters if you are curious what I did
04:14 bulk88 also Inline:;Filters doesn't seem to use Exporter, so you can't put a version number in the use line to make sure you load 0.12_01 and not 0.12, I would manually check $Inline::Filters::VERSION in RPerl in a begin block after Inline::Filters is loaded

04:15 bulk88 a partial way of checking module versions that wont work for you, since RPerl isn't CPAN-ready, is to specify the module deps with META.yml/EU::MM

06:48 Will_the_Chill bulk88: okay I understand

06:57 Will_the_Chill I'm looking at your code blame on github and I see you only changed the 1 line (and version number)
07:05 bulk88 that is correct
07:09 Will_the_Chill okay
07:10 bulk88 I probably should have added my name somewhere in the distro, but oh well
07:10 Will_the_Chill are you going to do an official takeover so it doesn't keep saying "UNAUTHORIZED RELEASE" on CPAN?
07:15 bulk88 no, I have no connection to the module, your RPerl plans to rely on it (heavily??)
07:17 Will_the_Chill it is required by RPerl
07:17 Will_the_Chill I just don't want RPerl to be dependent upon "UNAUTHORIZED" software
07:17 Will_the_Chill it looks bad.  :)
07:18 bulk88 if you get comaint on it or ownership, bump the version to 0.13 and do another release and unauthorized release goes away (also cpan shell will automatically find it, dev versions ("_") I know for a fact aren't found by cpan shell unless you use some secret syntax, unauth releases, I'm not sure if cpan shell will find/offer them up or not or you have to use the dev release trick)

07:20 Will_the_Chill oh well I was just about to try to use cpan shell to install your latest Inline::Filters, you're telling me you don't think it will work?
07:25 bulk88 the module is amateurish IMO, the changefile has/had a "0.11" that was never release on CPAN, the developer had one burst of modules and then disapeared, also it is strange that it doesn't use Exporter, and its loaded by Inline, not "use"d directly
07:25 Will_the_Chill well that's nice
07:25 Will_the_Chill we can upgrade it or whatever
07:25 Will_the_Chill all I care about is that it works
07:26 Will_the_Chill for now at least!  :)
07:26 bulk88 secret cpan shell syntax = http://stackoverflow.com/posts/267783/revisions notice the tarball path specifically
07:34 Will_the_Chill cpan> install BULKDD/Inline-Filters-0.12_01.tar.gz
07:34 Will_the_Chill is that correct?
07:35 bulk88 IDK, try it and see if it works
07:35 Will_the_Chill okee dokee
07:36 bulk88 "http://cpan.metacpan.org/authors/id/B/BU/BULKDD/other/Inline-Filters-0.12_01.tar.gz" is the full path, IDK if you need the "B/BU" part
07:36 Will_the_Chill "M/MS/" is crossed out here      http://stackoverflow.com/posts/267783/revisions
07:37 Will_the_Chill but we shall see momentarily
07:37 bulk88 I have no clue, I thought it was a SO syntax error
07:37 Will_the_Chill oh I dunno
07:38 bulk88 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/260593/how-can-i-install-a-specific-version-of-a-perl-module maybe the strike out is correct based on the full thread
07:40 Will_the_Chill I see
07:49 bulk88 FYI in addition to CPANTesters, you also have http://cpants.cpanauthors.org/ critcizing you, I played the starting at 116 points and got it to 126, the absolute highest max is  133, I refuse fix the last 2 "errors" http://cpants.cpanauthors.org/dist/Win32-API/errors
07:52 Will_the_Chill cool
07:56 Will_the_Chill my test suite isn't hitting Inline::Filters yet, so I'm going to hold off installing it until I can actually test it
08:02 Will_the_Chill I saved the secret cpan syntax in docs/install_notes.txt (your fav!) to try later
